Company Showcases Wide Range of Customized Cooling Solutions for AI Data Centers SEOUL, April 15, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) is unveiling a comprehensive lineup of cooling solutions at the Data Center World (DCW) 2025 conference in Washington, D.C., from April 14-17. This marks LG’s debut at DCW, where the company is presenting an array of advanced data center cooling solutions, including high-performance chillers, air- and liquid-based server cooling products, and the LG Building Energy Control (BECON) solution. With its high-efficiency direct-to-chip (D2C) cooling technologies and integrated AI-powered control software, LG aims to make significant inroads into North America’s rapidly growing data center market. AI data centers generate more heat and consume more electricity than conventional data centers due to higher server-rack density and the increased usage of resource-intensive computer chips, such as graphics processing units and high-bandwidth memory. LG’s hybrid solution, which combines chip cooling and room cooling, is designed to meet the thermal management needs of these next-gen facilities, delivering outstanding performance and top-tier energy efficiency. Visitors to the LG booth at DCW can learn all about the company’s tailored cooling solutions for AI data centers and witness the commitment to innovation that has propelled LG to the forefront of the global HVAC industry. Innovative, Energy-efficient D2C Technology LG’s exhibition highlights the company’s liquid server cooling solutions featuring D2C technology; a remarkable innovation that applies cooling directly to the servers’ chips. Leveraging the company’s high-efficiency inverter pump and heat exchanger, the LG Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU) controls coolant temperature and flow to improve energy efficiency and reduce electricity consumption. Thanks to its compact size and modular design, LG’s CDU provides installation flexibility, enabling a variety of configurations consisting of up to eight units. The CDU has a 10.4-inch touch screen that offers convenient control and supports easy maintenance. Equipped with the company’s fully redundant sensor system, which features both physical and virtual sensor technology, the CDU ensures continuous operation through the provision of backup operation and sensor-fault prediction diagnosis. Furthermore, the CDU uses LG’s Active Load Sharing technology to track the optimal efficiency point for each load, thus elevating overall system efficiency. Another LG innovation being introduced at this year’s DCW is the Cold Plate: a liquid cooling solution designed to be directly applied to the high-powered chips used in AI data servers. The solution is able to manage the high thermal design power (TDP) of these next-generation chips thanks to the low thermal resistance of its advanced design. The LG Cold Plate utilizes a manifold with a parallel coolant supply structure to deliver upgraded cooling performance. The company’s impressive solution also employs a bottom-mounted Skived Fin to maximize the heat exchange area and boasts a “two-way” configuration that optimizes the coolant flow path. Moreover, the Cold Plate can be customized according to site- and usage-specific requirements through an AI-powered optimization process that includes a state-of-the-art performance simulator. To minimize the risk of coolant-liquid leakage, LG uses brazing to create the strongest possible bond between key elements, and also subjects each Cold Plate produced to a “threefold” leak inspection. Optimized Cooling with LG’s Powerful Chillers and Computer Room Air Handler Used in a variety of industries and known for their powerful cooling capabilities, chillers have emerged as important infrastructure components for AI data centers. LG’s Water-Cooled Oil-Free Centrifugal Chiller provides exceptional energy efficiency via a lubricant-free structure and LG’s proprietary magnetic bearing technology, LeviTech. These innovations, along with a machine learning-based feature that protects against chiller surges, help to reduce energy loss, improve operational reliability, and facilitate fast recovery from unexpected power outages. Designed with sustainability in mind, LG’s water-cooled oil free inverter centrifugal chiller use refrigerants with a low Global Warming Potential. Available in both inverter screw and oil-free centrifugal types, LG’s Air-Cooled Chiller (ACC) incorporates high-quality core components, such as the company’s inverter screw compressor, to set new standards for performance and efficiency. Enhancing both cooling capability and system dependability, the innovative “free-cooling” mode allows the ACC to switch seamlessly between mechanical cooling (with the refrigerant cycle) and free cooling (without the refrigerant cycle). LG’s next-gen ACC also has a backup cycle that prevents interruptions to operation, and comes equipped with a three-stage oil recovery system that further boosts reliability and safety. A solution that pairs perfectly with the ACC, LG’s Computer Room Air Handler (CRAH) utilizes electronically commutated (EC) fans and oval coils to minimize electricity usage. The fans use high-efficiency 3D blades along with EC motors that leverage power factor correction to reduce total harmonic distortion in the current. In addition, the CRAH has a compact, modular fan wall unit structure that makes installation and maintenance more convenient, saving customers time and cost. To drive the development of future cooling solutions, the recently established LG HVAC Solution Lab has created a sophisticated testbed that can accurately simulate various usage scenarios and environmental conditions. Integrated Energy Management Control for Diverse Cooling Solutions LG’s data center cooling solutions, from chiller plants to D2C and room cooling systems, can all be easily controlled through the BECON system. A single, unified solution for managing and monitoring server cooling and chiller systems, BECON can intelligently coordinate each connected cooling solution to achieve and maintain the required temperature and level of humidity. The BECON solution, which can be applied to multiple interfaces within a facility, can also carry out data analysis to maximize the energy efficiency of LG’s cooling solutions, helping reduce the financial burden of the round-the-clock cooling operation that data centers need. “The exceptional LG thermal management solutions on show at Data Center World 2025 leverage our latest AI technologies and the considerable insight gained from our partnerships with AI data centers worldwide,” said James Lee, president of the LG ES Company. “As a leading provider of innovative HVAC solutions, LG will continue pushing forward to deliver efficient cooling infrastructure for North America’s fast-growing AI data center market.” LG invites DCW attendees to experience its latest AI data center cooling solutions at booth #633 in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. # # # View the full article

Problem: Auto switch to HDMI input in LG TVs
Venkata posted a question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
Hello Team, My newly purchased 75-Inch Class QNED 4K LED QNED85T series TV with webOS 24 has a setup box and soundbar connected via HDMI. It automatically returns to HDMI input when I move between home and any app (like YouTube, Prime, etc.). It appears to automatically detect and switch to the HDMI input always. The soundbar attached to the HDMI was disconnected if I turned off Simplink (HDMI-CEC). There doesn't seem to be a way to disable auto sensing option. It appears that LG TVs lack a function or problem. I have a Hisense TV with the same setup, and it functions perfectly. I have no trouble switching between apps and controlling devices connected via HDMI. -

We have a 65" G1 OLED set. Lately (like the past couple of months), at irregular intervals while the set is on, it will power itself down without any input from the remote. Happens maybe once every two or three days. Powering it on again using the remote always brings it back to life OK. Unsure whether this is a hardware or software problem, and can't see how I could determine whether it's one or the other. Any suggestions? The TV is current with whatever the lastest level of FW is - I just checked in settings and was told there were no updates available.

Last input behavior changed after update
Zipperhead replied to mean2's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
I have the same issue on the OLEDC1PUB. It’s very annoying and I hope they fix the issue ASAP. The “Last Input” setting is supposed to correct this and did before this update. I was thinking about purchasing a new TV but may need to look at other brands. Sad because I do like the LG Brand. But having a way to default to OTA broadcasts is a must. After all, it is a TV first and foremost. - Earlier

(LG) today announced its preliminary earnings results for the first-quarter of 2025, reporting a consolidated revenue of KRW 22.7 trillion and operating profit of KRW 1.3 trillion. This marks the first time LG’s first-quarter revenue has exceeded KRW 22 trillion. Despite ongoing macroeconomic challenges, including a global economic slowdown, the company’s focus on “qualitative growth” businesses played a key role. Especially in B2B sectors, the Eco Solution (ES) business has been the primary driver of growth in both revenue and profitability. Other areas—such as subscription services, webOS-based advertising and content, and direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales—also contributed to the company’s record-breaking results. LG has once again left a lasting impression on visitors to ISH, one of the world’s biggest annual tradeshows for HVAC, water and sanitation solutions. Held in Frankfurt, Germany, the event highlighted LG’s extensive range of integrated heating solutions customized for diverse environments and spaces, including high-efficiency residential heat pumps and large-capacity commercial systems. Tailormade for the European market and compliant with the European Union’s F-gas Regulation, LG’s products exclusively employ refrigerants with a low Global Warming Potential (GWP). A major attraction at LG’s booth, the Hero zone introduced ISH visitors to the exceptional Therma V R290 Monobloc air-to-water heat pump (AWHP) for residential applications. Displayed beneath a captivating hanging façade at the center of the zone, the new Therma V boasts a sleek, minimalist design, quiet operation and outstanding cold-climate performance, thanks to LG’s advanced scroll compressor. Designed with user comfort and the health of the planet in mind, the Therma V employs R290 refrigerant, which has a GWP of 3, to reduce carbon emissions. LG also showcased the Monobloc G and Cascade Control Unit, two sophisticated solutions suitable for multi-unit apartment buildings and large homes. The Cascade Control Unit offers flexible scalability, allowing users to add up to eight outdoor units to their HVAC system. This adaptability not only meets varying heating demands but also optimizes energy efficiency, thereby contributing to the reduction of HVAC running costs. Another notable exhibit was the new LG heat pump water heater (HPWH) with R290 refrigerant. Displayed in a booth area designed to resemble a stylish European kitchen, the versatile HPWH R290 utilizes both air and electricity as energy sources, achieving greater efficiency than traditional electric or a gas-powered water heaters. Its simple design ensures compatibility with various installation environments and customer needs, offering seamless integration with various types of indoor units, such as control, hydro and combi. In response to recent EU restrictions on refrigerant usage, LG has launched a complete lineup of reliable commercial HVAC solutions utilizing R32 refrigerant (GWP of 675). Visitors learned about the innovative, large-capacity Inverter Scroll Chiller, which leverages twin inverter scroll compressors to maximize cooling power and operational efficiency. The Inverter Scroll Chiller can be integrated with LG’s Building Energy Control (BECON) CPM system, which utilizes advanced AI technologies to simplify control and monitoring of LG’s commercial HVAC solutions. The Multi V i R32 variable refrigerant flow (VRF) solution was another attraction at LG’s booth. Incorporating the company’s AI engine, the Multi V i intelligently manages temperatures across multiple indoor spaces. This VRF solution includes a full package of integrated solutions, including a number of safety features and systems designed to enhance stability and reliability, and provides time-saving troubleshooting assistance with Smart Diagnosis. LG, a pathfinder for innovative heating, has been at the forefront of HVAC innovation for several decades and continues to show the way forward. With its comprehensive exhibit of efficient and sustainable HVAC solutions at ISH 2025, the company reaffirmed its commitment to decarbonization and to paving the way to a better future for all. # # # View the full article

At LG, innovation extends beyond technology – it’s about creating meaningful experiences that inspire change and shape the future. This vision comes to life through LG College Day, an immersive program that connects students with LG’s corporate culture, emphasizing sustainability and real-world innovation as core values. Recently, over 50 Princeton University Korean language students visited LG Electronics North America’s headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. The visit provided a firsthand look at how LG is pioneering the future through cutting-edge technologies, insightful discussions and hands-on learning experiences. For some, LG College Day is more than just an educational visit – it’s a gateway to a future career. One former participant was so inspired during his visit that he later joined LG as a full-time employee, underscoring the program’s role in connecting top talent with real-world opportunities. The visit began with an introductory session where students explored LG’s business strategy, technological advancements and global impact. A highlight of the session was a dynamic panel discussion featuring LG executives and industry experts, who shared valuable insights on career development, leadership and the future of technology. Students then stepped into LG’s showroom, where they interacted with groundbreaking innovations such as the LG SIGNATURE OLED T – the world’s first wireless and transparent OLED TV – and the LG StanbyME, a portable wireless screen acclaimed for maximizing users’ on-the-go productivity. The OLED Flexible Signage display delivered an immersive visual experience that brought images to life with stunning clarity and realism. Next, students explored LG’s Home Appliance showroom, where they witnessed AI-powered innovations that are transforming everyday life. From smart refrigerators that suggest optimal recipes to AI-driven washers that optimize laundry cycles, LG continues to set new standards for intelligent home solutions. A visit to LG’s cutting-edge Virtual Studio offered a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process behind the company’s global marketing campaigns. The studio, a high-tech production space for commercials and product photography, highlighted LG’s emphasis on storytelling and branding. Students also gained insight into LG’s environmental and social initiatives, including the Endangered Species Series, the Pollinator Garden and LG’s LEED Platinum Certification – reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainability. Beyond technology and business insights, LG College Day provided students with an opportunity to engage with LG’s Human Resources team, exploring various career paths and business opportunities within the company. Jung Kyu-hwang, CEO of LG Electronics North America, emphasized the importance of fostering connections with the younger generation: “By engaging with young people, especially Gen Z students, we’re not just showcasing our innovations – we’re building connections for the future.” LG College Day continues to grow as a platform for inspiring future leaders, bridging the gap between academia and industry while celebrating the synergy of innovation, corporate responsibility and Korean culture. # # # View the full article

I hope I don't jinx myself by sharing this, but my goal is to help others facing similar issues, saving them the frustration I've experienced — especially considering how much we invest in these devices. After deciding to purchase another HDMI cable to test if a different brand could resolve the issue, I performed another power cycle test, this time slightly differently from before: Turned off the TV, receiver, and subwoofer (though turning off the last one might seem unnecessary, I'll explain why shortly). Unplugged all three from their power outlets. Removed ALL HDMI cables from the TV — no exceptions. Removed ALL HDMI cables from the receiver — again, no exceptions. Waited 30 minutes (although it was closer to 40-45 minutes, as I took some extra time before actually start to count time). Plugged the TV, receiver, and subwoofer back into their power outlets. BEFORE turning anything back on, reconnected all HDMI cables to the TV first, and then the receiver. Turned on the TV. Turned on the subwoofer. Turned on the receiver. Went to the TV settings and switched audio output to HDMI. Now, regarding the subwoofer: since the goal of the power cycle is (as I understand it) to completely clear any residual electricity from the devices, I concluded that the subwoofer might also have an influence. The subwoofer in my setup is active, meaning it requires its own power source. Additionally, the connection between the subwoofer and the receiver involves electrical signals, as with any speaker. Testing it this way made sense to me. After all this effort, surprise, surprise... The problem persisted — and initially seemed worse, with the connection between the TV and receiver repeatedly dropping, causing rapid flickering between the "No Signal" message and the TV's volume meter popping up constantly. At that point, I was ready to give up (again). Out of frustration, I stood there watching the screen furiously flicker. Then, after a few intense seconds, the flickering suddenly stopped. The TV started displaying images correctly, and the receiver's front panel showed "DSUR", confirming that the handshake went well. This occurred two days ago. Since then, I've experienced no more flickering, no random "No Signal" messages, and no frustrating audio dropouts. My previous frustration (extreme annoyance actually) and hopelessness regarding LG's willingness to investigate the issue have finally eased. I genuinely hope this helps anyone else experiencing similar issues. And if someone from LG is reading this, please consider such concerns seriously — even if issues appear extremely isolated. Thanks for your time. Take care, stay safe, drink water, and hug someone next to you. See ya!

So stupid that webos developer change screen saver time to 30 min! One of best LG OLED TV function destroyed. Who was bothered by the screen saver? LG's goal is to burn out the panel so that you'll run for a new TV. I won't buy LG again.
