  1. Since launch in November, struggled to watch Disney+ on OLED55B6P. Spent countless hours researching online and verifying home network setup. Finally came across a note in a recent post for a different, yet similar issue regarding NetFlix involving disabling "Quick Start" in the TV settings - General. Once disabled, Disney+ plays successfully with no hangs! Worth a try if you are experiencing hangs while trying to watch Disney+.

  2. If anyone is still experiencing issues with the webOS Disney+ app (and I suspect many if not all of us still are) such as the lack of 4K support, 5.1 audio support, or as in my case with the 86UH9500, both, please see LG's response to my inquiry into these issues: We appreciate you for patiently coordinating with us regarding the current application status of your LG 86UH9500 TV, Xxxxxxx. It is our goal to ensure that you are able to utilize your LG product at its fullest potential so let us assist you with your inquiry today. In response to this, according to the specifications of the unit, the LG 86UH9500 TV has been designed with a 4K UHD and Surround Mode feature. However, if the Disney+ app is the only application that does not output surround sound, please be advised that both the content being played on the TV and the applications should also support this feature as well. This case on the capability and support made by the developers of the Disney+ Application needs to be raised directly to them so that they can make the necessary updates on the programming and utilize our TV’s 4K UHD and Surround Sound features that are already available in our OLED Television. You can reach Disney+ Support Line at 1-888-905-7888 for additional support and assistance. So, as expected, LG is pointing the finger at Disney to resolve these issues. This makes sense as my inquires into the availability of the Disney+ app from LG before the launch directed me to reach out to Disney+ as they, not LG, are responsible for it. So if any of you out there have Bob Iger on speed dial, can you give him a ring? Thanks! (PS yes, LG incorrectly identified the UH9500 as an OLED model when its an LCD, but I'll let it slide)

  3. We agree - it almost certainly is a firmware issue. For anyone else following this thread: Please do check out the Facebook post and give the oxygen of 'likes' if you're able to. Thanks.

  4. Well I'm not so sure if LG are really aware of the cause as an earlier poster lost channel 265 after a software update which leads me to believe it is a software and not something that needs 'New parts' as stated in neversaydie's email he recieved from them. I think this issue is to do with programming of the OS and conflicts. My red button shows carousel failure due to OS often. I have spoken to freeview and the service is running fine and dandy on my 2018 set which runs HBBTV. I will check out that post on Facebook.

  5. Hi chuck I use Plex to stream my movies etc to my TV. That might be a good way for you to go, you just need to install the plex server on your computer and sign up. Most LG TV's also support DLNA nowadays anyway so you could always use that. It could also be that not all the files you're trying to watch are a supported format etc? Ash

  6. We too have this issue. None of the suggestions regarding inline attenuation, software updates or resetting will have any bearing here because it is a drop-off with the LG platform (and a major one at that). As far as those who are considering trying for a refund, there are essentially two options:- If the set was ordered online then exercise your 30 day right to reject. If past this point then there is scope for arguing it's either unfit for purpose, not of merchantable quality or, as-is perhaps more likely, reasonably expecting the set be used with such services i.e. the set is meant to work with Freeview[HD] services . There is more than one way to skin this cat... 😵See: Consumer rights with Martin Lewis The problem won't get fixed until LG, and perhaps Freeview et al get their heads together. To get their attention please up-vote this Facebook post on LG's official page: LG Official Facebook page - Invalid service on WebOS TV Hope this helps. 👍

  7. Hi All . This has been driving me nuts as well. LG customer support say that Ketchup TV channel 211 and planet knowledge chanel 265 and a load of others broadcast is MHEG. They said that this is an older technology not supported by their 2019 models. There only suggestion was that i contact the relevant broadcasters and as them to update there broadcast to HBBTV. The retailer Richer Sounds was also unaware of this issue and it is not something that has been highlighted in any of the review or information. I want to confirm that this is the case as i don't trust LG support It dose not make sense to remove a function that is still in use when the TV has the power and processor to handle it with no problem. Looking on the internet it dose not seam that a huge number of people have had this so i want to make sure it is not a fault with my set or a random setting. Either way LG are not interested in finding a solution and the retailer said they cant help and were not aware of the issue I have reported this to BBC Watchdog as i think it is unacceptable that i can be sold a new smart tv that cannot receive channels broadcast through Freeview and available on epg. If enough people report it to them they will do an investigation

  9. As I understand it, DAZN is the one that develops the app for LG TVs, not the other way around. I have had a similar issue with Acorn (another streaming service) and they made it clear that it is they who develop the app for LG (they haven't). Though in the case of Acorn I can go through Amazon Prime Video (which itself is problematic, though there is a somewhat tedious work around). So yes, bug DAZN. The only reason that I have DAZN is for the English Premier League and DAZN has the monopoly on the EPL in Canada. I have also sent an email to the EPL (not that I expect anything from that unless they received many more emails).
