Sk85 subtitles.. did everything.. nothing work
nemilose replied to Yaniv Davidi's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
You may also try some other DLNA server, such as Plex or Serviio. -
You can't find such a thing. WebOS 3.0 is the only version for UH models.
-
Just like any other application. Go to LG Content Store and install it from there.

Latest Firmware / WebOS for Model 55UH6090-UF
nemilose replied to cpatafio's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
Your TV has WebOS 3.0 and, according to LG, you have the latest version of the firmware. I also have an UH TV. Until mid 2017 there were several firmware updates. After that - nothing. UH models are discontinued and a believe that there will not be any more updates. I really do not need an update because everything works perfectly. -
Annoying pop-up messages on my lg 49sj800v smart tv
nemilose replied to rick wiseman's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
If someone is not using WiFi, is it possible to just remove the WiFi module? Will the TV work without it? -
You can not do that. The only option is to buy a new TV.

This is information from LG webOS Magic Remote Android application. I have tested and it works. However, I haven't sniffed the network, so I don't know whether a regular wake-on-lan magic packet is used or something else. EDIT: I have just tested some Windows wake-on-lan application and it also works.

How do I download the webOS app?
nemilose replied to Carol k's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
All apps are installed from the LG Content Store: https://www.lg.com/us/support/product-help/CT10000018-20150291623404-lg-content-store HBO-Go is region locked app, so it may not be available in your country. You have several topics here about it. -
Why don't you use an external power adaptet? For example, the one that comes with Chromecast.

Due to different hadware, TVs cannot be upgraded to a higher WebOS version.

^ it is Ethernet over Powerlines ;-)

I have just tested my UH8507 with speedtest.net within browser. It measured 94.4 Mbps, which is OK for 100 Mbps LAN card. I do not know what could be wrong with your TV.

LG WebOS version 5.30 Not showing Google Assistant set up
nemilose replied to Kyle P's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
I think that your TV is WebOS 3.0 and it doesn't support Google Assistant. -
Data Cap and Stream Quality
nemilose replied to John Vujnovich's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
Out of mentioned app I use only YouTube. I couldn't find an option to change the stream quality within the application. It automatically adapts to the available bandwidth. I may change the quality if I limit the TV's bandwidth within my router. I don't know whether your router has such a capability, but you may try something similar. -
Does my TV have webOS - 42LM620T-ZE
nemilose replied to andy31's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
My TV has option Mobile TV On under Settings-General. It has to be enabled to wake up on LAN. I then use LG webOS Magic Remote Android application to turn the TV on. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lgerp.mobilemagicremote It seems that this option was first introduced in WebOS 2.0- 3 replies

files on USB device shown as ._xxx.jpg
nemilose replied to rologoetz's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
I have just copied 1500 24 megapixel images to a fast USB 3.0 USB flash drive SanDisk Cruzer Extreme 32GB, formatted as NTFS in Windows. My TV 49UH8507 did not create those files with weird filenames. However, TV is also slow at decoding images. It is equally slow regardless of the USB port I use. Namely, my TV has both USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports and it is always slow. -
In the same way as any other application. WebOS will report that there is an update.

You would need a TV with two tuners in order to be able to watch one channel and record the other. Theoretically, you should be able to record one channel and watch the other with one tuner if both channels belong to the same transport stream, i.e. they are at the same radio channel. However, even that is not possible, but I do not know the reason. Probably it has something to do with the signal processing.

It seems that HBO Go availavability depends on the country. Some users have HBO Go, some dont't. I have had it installed out of the box. If you do not see it in LG Store, then you probably cannot install it. You have an option to buy Chromecast, and use your mobile phone HBO Go application to cast it to TV. In this case, you would choose what to watch using your phone, and then watch it on TV.
