  1. Hi, You can find details of the latest version of the firmware for your device at https://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-55UH6030
  2. You will not be able to install the Chrome browser on a LG webOS TV as Google to not produce a version for the platform.
  3. Hi Maryann, All the instructions are electronic and are on the TV itself. If you family who purchased you the TV cannot help set it up then it would probably be best to find a local electronics company or even a travelling computer engineer who can visit and set it up for you.
  4. Right, here we go again. First. Nope there are no LG officials on this site, it is a user-to-user forum. Second. Like every other operating system out there the manufacturer of said system does not produce every single app for said platform, see Microsoft Apple etc for examples. So why do all LG TV owners expect LG to produce every single app for the platform?
  5. This may be of help to you:
  6. As .apk files are Android application package files you will not be able to install them as webOS is not Android.
  7. You could try the official LG feedback form which is detailed here: However I expect the reason for web pages reloading when selected is that they are removed from system memory when unselected in an effort to manage said memory. Other desktop browsers have had similar functions in the past to aid memory management.
  8. Glad to have been of help in some small way.
  9. Ah sarcasm, that will help your enquiries. Please remember that this is user-to-user forum, it is run for users by users and as such we may not have the answers your are looking for.
  10. As with all operating systems the majority of the apps/programmes are not written by the platform manufacturers. Apple, Google, Microsoft et al do not produce every single programme for their operating systems, so why do users think that LG is any different? If you want a Smart TV with the largest amount of apps available then look for an Android based system. LG's webOS is one of, if not the easiest, to produce apps for utilising HTML5 and JavaScript, the problem of lack of apps comes down to a couple of issues. The first is market share with Samsung being one of the largest in the sector, this leads to them having more resources (money) to pull in content providers to their Tizen platform, thus more earning potential for the provider. The second is that many content providers rely heavily on proprietary back-ends that do not support open standards making it harder to programme for webOS, if you reach more market share through another platform which are you going to programme for? Hotstar was one example of this with no app still available users were left to try and watch content via the webOS browser, however they were unable to do so until very recently when the site was updated to both recognise the browser ID string and serve the media in a format that could be used by said browser. Rant over.
  11. Any Bluetooth headphones should work, LG do not to my knowledge use anything other than a standard protocols for the service. I am using a generic headset which connected with out issue and have worked well for the last two years.
  12. Hi Maryann, When the store you purchased the TV from tells you it is like a ROKU I am sure they only mean that it can provide streaming services in much the same way, the actual setup and day-to-day usage are going to be completely different. How far have you got with setting up the TV, can you even watch programmes via your aerial/dish yet?
  13. Excellent so users can definitely blame LG for the issues then, anyone else out there got information about their failed units?
  14. This is a user-to-user forum, not a LG platform. As for the WiFi card issue, well the possibility is a bad batch of a product probably not made by LG. It would be good to know the details of the modules that people have had to replace so that we can get some idea of what is going on.
  15. Your model is listed as NOT having Bluetooth so you would be limited to anything that uses the composite ports.
  16. I counter with Opera browser.
  17. If there is an update to the webOS browser then it will applied via the Over-The-Air update service. If you have been to a website that has told you to update you browser, the site in question is badly written and does not recognise the webOS browser, probably mistaking in for an out-of-date Google Chrome browser which uses similar underpinnings. If it is the latter then it is down to the website to sort the issue.
  18. Hi, Sadly at this point in time as the apps you wish for are not available from the content providers on LG's webOS platform then it is not the TV for you. Something running Android may be a better bet for you.
  19. Hi Marky, If you took the time to look (see the forum's logo above) you would see that this forum is not run by the LG group, but is here run by owners and users of LG webOS products. To return your TV well I imagine wherever you purchased it from would be the best place to start. As for false advertising I cannot possibly know what you saw and what you interpreted from it, but if it was genuinely false then that would give you excellent grounds for returning your purchase.
  20. And, if you search the forum you will many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, threads on the other two content providers.
  21. Full model number and currently installed firmware please.
  22. Hi Azam, Yes Hotstar are developing an app, but at the moment it is many months behind schedule probably because they needed to update the backend of their infrastructure to update/remove outdated and esoteric software, i.e. Adobe Flash. Forum user have in the meantime reported that they are now able to view the Hotstar website via the webOS browser without issue, which is something they were unable to do previously.
  23. Hotstar are working on an app but they are almost a year behind schedule, however you can use the web browser to watch without issue since they tailored the site to work with webOS. There is no SonyLiv because they have not produced one yet, so go over to their website and use the contact form to ask how long it is going to be before an app appears. So, as you know that you could have purchased a bigger full HD cheaper than an LG why did you bother buying it in the first place?
  24. Hi Lauris, Indeed, it could mean that the TV has a black bezel and dual legs as opposed to a silver bezel and a stand.
