OLED55B7 Amazon app - no 4k no HDR
George Hofmeister replied to PC_Arcade's question in LG webOS Smart TV App Questions
Here's LG's page on the issue: http://www.lg.com/us/support/product-help/CT10000020-20150296187040-amazon Most of the items listed you have already undertaken, I think the only thing to check is your region set up. After that possibly an email to Amazon, their tech support is reasonably good. -
Activate screensaver while playing radio on tv
George Hofmeister replied to mohanad Ibrahim's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
I use the built-in music player's ability to turn off the screen when I am playing music from my Plex server to save any chance of screen burn. -
Flash player in internet browser
George Hofmeister replied to polp6880's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
No I very much doubt LG is going to add Flash support, because is it is going end of life in the very near future. Why support a technology the manufacturer has told the world they are going to be dropping? There have been much better technologies available for many years, it is just that website owner have not moved with the times as it involves learning new skills and spending money. As for HTML5 support the webOS browser does support it, go to the following site to test it: https://html5test.com -
apps for lg web os smart tv
George Hofmeister replied to Vvsn Raju's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
Apps are downloaded via the LG Content Store, which is available from the ribbon menu. Once you are in the store use the arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the round icon with four squares in it (this is the actual content store), once in you can select and install apps. Cannot help you on the remote, I do not have one. -
How do you update web browser on Lg smart tv?
George Hofmeister replied to Tanya Schwartz's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
It depends what you mean by fix. If you want Adobe Flash support, then no that is never going to happen. If you want to view a website that does not recognise the webOS browser or is incompatible for some other reason (excluding Flash) then it is probably going to be down to the owner of the website to fix it. The webOS browser is HTML5 compatible, yes it could do with some improvement but it is far from terrible. I do not know what the state of DRM support is in the browser, this would be an issue for instance with Spotify, but this could of course be circumvented by a proper app. -

How do you update web browser on Lg smart tv?
George Hofmeister replied to Tanya Schwartz's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
You cannot install the Google's Chrome browser in webOS as it does not have a native port. Currently the only web browser that can be used in webOS is the one it comes with. Neither is Adobe's Flash supported by webOS. -
HBO GO is not available globally, this is due to commercial agreement with other broadcasters (e.g. SKY in the UK) and in other instances regional restrictions. This is not something that LG has control over, so before berating them check directly with HBO whether or not their app should be available in your region.

Youtube app not scrolling.
George Hofmeister replied to Stephen Pritchard's question in LG webOS Smart TV App Questions
I must admit I do not recall there ever being arrows on the screen to indicate scroll direction, I have always used the left and right arrow buttons on my remote to scroll back and forth. What model TV & version of YouTube do you have? -

How do you update web browser on Lg smart tv?
George Hofmeister replied to Tanya Schwartz's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
There is a built-in web browser that is the only one you will be able to use. Again if you are not going to be able to view sites that use Adobe Flash or sites that do not cater for the webOS browser, in both of these cases you need to approach the site owners to improve their site. -
Did you try the answer I gave above? Did you try searching the forum to see how others have overcome the problem?

LG 55UH600V Youtube app is not working
George Hofmeister replied to vapaulius's question in LG webOS Smart TV App Questions
Cannot help with you problem, but just wanted to say that currently I am running 1.0.44 which was released 2018/02/13 although it was a little after that date before it appeared on my set for updating. So possibly you might get an update to this version soon, which may cure the problem. -

Youtube app of lg web os tv
George Hofmeister replied to Hemant Ainapure's question in LG webOS Smart TV App Questions
The buttons are not there as they are only available on the web page and are not in the app. Two completely different beasts, although it would be nice to have the functionality it is going to be down to YouTube to incorporate it into the webOS app. -
This appears to be a common problem with webOS, I believe (look elsewhere on the forum for confirmation) that is you can use your phone as a hotspot, connect the TV to the phone you will then be able to go through the procedure to accept the user agreement. After that you will be able to go back to a 'normal' network connection.

amazon prime app for LG smart v
George Hofmeister replied to Shrinivas's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
https://thevpn.guru/unblock-us-amazon-prime-video-uae/ Apparently according to the article above Amazon Prime Video is not available in the UAE. So I am guessing that if you are in the UAE the app would not be available, you would have to trick the TV in to believing it was in a different region by changing it settings and then connect to the web via a VPN to install it from a different regions app store. If you got the app installed you may still have to connect via a VPN to watch the service. Is this possible to do, sadly I don' t know maybe someone else on the forum has had similar issues and can advise. -
Yes this seems to be a regular problem, the regularly used solution is I believe to create a hotspot on your phone (of course if you have the capability to do so), connect the TV to the phone's hotspot and download/accept the user agreement that way.

Flash player not working
George Hofmeister replied to Christopher Dean's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
Ubiquitous, yes I agree but sadly now hideously out-dated and it only has a couple of years of life left at Adobe. No one in their right mind would start programming for it at this late stage in its life, the problem of course is getting those who's products are deeply engrained with Flash to invest in moving on to more modern technologies. -
How do you update web browser on Lg smart tv?
George Hofmeister replied to Tanya Schwartz's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
OK, so I am guessing that CBS either uses Flash on their site or if they do not their site does not recognise the webOS browser ID string. If it is the former then you are out of luck, LG does not support Flash and will not as it is problematic to programme for, and is going end of life in the near future. If it is the later then CBS web masters need to up their game and get it sorted. If CBS is still using Flash again their web master need to update their website to newer technologies. Chrome is not the browser in webOS so you will not be able to update it to the latest version. -
Mr. Sola
George Hofmeister replied to Olusola John Omikunle's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
I am going to guess that you need to un-install something first (say your least used app), then run the update Netflix's update and hope that you have enough space left to re-install the app you previously removed. -
Flash player not working
George Hofmeister replied to Christopher Dean's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
LG webOS does not support Flash, this is for many reasons. To the best of my knowledge none of the major SMART TV manufacturers support Flash either. -
This is a common issue if you have a look around the forum you should find duplicate postings on the matter and its cure.
