I think most online sites/videos are being pushed to go the HTML5 route which is why there is a loss of development for Flash compatibility. The push would be to make it HTML5 or build an app for it.

I read that article and I think you have to take it with a grain of salt. Sounds to me like there are creative and directional distances at all levels which happens when you have buyouts and mergers. Either they will screw it up or it will be successful. It's really up to them. Losing some of the designers is not good either although maybe the plan was to change it to adapt to a smart tv and they would take it from there. What "there" is, is scary.

If you are not sure what you are looking at, It’s the code repository of Open-webOS. That’s the code originally released by Hewlett Packard and developed by LG electronics. What it shows is webOS being tested on a Nexus 5. Maybe a phone is in the works?

Not sure if anyone had a palm pre when webos first came out and was at version 1.0, but if you compare that to a palm pre 2 and the later versions of webos, it's night and day. Just like any OS, it's bound to get better.

Didn't Android TV just get announced? Google TV has been around but never really took off. I think that with any first release there are going to be some issues, but with 1 million+ TVs sold, I'm sure there will be improvements. The logo of this site now included a webOS TV, we figured it was about time to add the next generation device to the main imagery of this forum.

Great feature request. LG will be updating webOS, so maybe!

There are numerous articles that have popped up stating that LG plans to go full force and have all its TVs powered by webOS in 2015. In addition, LG plans to release an updated version of webOS as well. Sounds like LG is going "all in".
