  1. @Surojit Roy You do not post what TV you have, and it may only be available in the LG APP store for certain later models. It is not available in all countries either. So, if it is not in the store, you cannot install it. Here is a posssible workaround, from an anonymous user: "In some TVs you won’t be able to install apps which are not available with them. Though my tv was a smart tv only I couldn’t install Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar, Zee5, ALtbalaji etc. to enjoy the web series and movies on them. After some research, I got to know about this: - Fire TV Stick 4K with All-New Alexa Voice Remote, with Streaming Media Player. It has to be downloaded in the stick and just switch to the hdmi on which the stick is fitted and play. You need to have a good internet connection [strong WiFi signal] to use it. We need to pay the subscription costs for Netflix, amazon prime, Hotstar, zee5 etc. We can choose the various plans which suit us. But it’s worth buying. We have disconnected our tata sky also since the day we got this as now we can watch a variety of programs and web series with the help of this fire stick. Now we just love to have it." It is available from Amazon and other selected outlets/specialist stores.
  2. @nina san miguel Can you go into yout TV settings to check your firmware version? The latest is 04.26.10 and MAY have fixes for web interfaces that may help Netflix. See: https://www.lg.com/sa_en/support/product/lg-58UF830T and if you do not have that, read how to download it, and put it on to a USB stick (NOT inside a folder on the stick), and install from it.
  3. @Will M As @Don Simms states, it should be installed on your TV by default. Depending on your TV model (the you have not posted), you may have to scroll right to look at ALL the installed apps on your tv.
  4. @devon That 11 year old TV was last updated with firmware on 2011!! That is way behind current technology, so you are unlik;ey to get a fix. If it DID ever work, I can only suggest you try doing a "factory reset" (reset to default settings) and try it again.
  5. @Alen Dols It would be best to direct your complaint direct to your country LG support. This site is ONLY a peer-to-peer enthusiasts site, to help with advise about LG TV WebOS issues and possible workarounds, and it has NO CONNECTION or input into LG to lobby for fixing stuff. If more users complain to LG directly then MAYBE something MIGHT happen at some point.
  6. @Kuriko Have you checked that you have the latest firmware on you LG TV, and all your DLNA devices have the latest software or firmware on them too? It is unclear from your post, if the "image and video" option has always failed, or only started failing recently. Please clarify, and also if it failed after a TV firmware update.
  7. @decemvre I KNOW others want, and seem fixated on VLC, but as @mh61 has pointed out, this is probably nit possible. SO: has anyone tried using the DIVX player/software? I KNOW is has a media server, I played some stuff to my old 2014 LG TV ages ago, and it DID work (you have to enable the Media Server, it is not on by default). https://support.divx.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002219733-Setup-streaming-from-DivX-Media-Server-on-a-DLNA-device "LG HD TVs For most recent LG TV models, simply click the “Input” button on your remote control, or from the Home screen click on the “Input” icon. On the Input screen, select DLNA/Network, and then select your DivX Media Server from the list of servers. For other methods, see LG’s guide to DLNA setup. Once you've found DivX Media Server on your DLNA device, just open the server to browse your folders and select a video to play!"
  8. @NikolaZ Is the firmware level a typo? I can only find 05.60.06 for your model: [05.60.06] 1. LG Channel has been upgraded and service territory expansion. (Selected Countries Only) 2. Software update contains minor bug fix If that is NOT what you have, then try downloading it onto a USB stck and update it manually, from here: https://www.lg.com/uk/support/product/lg-55UH770V If it IS already that version, then I would recommend you report this issue DIRECTLY to your country LG support, as this is ONLY a peer-to-peer enthsiasts site, NOT related to LG itself.
  9. @Russell Acton If it has not updated already automatically, get the latest firmware on a USB stick and install it manually, and test your issue again. This is dated 18/2/2021. [03.21.36] 1. Improved no video issue when switching specific HDMI ports 2. Software update contains minor bug fix (they do NOT say what it is fixing, but you might get lucky)! https://www.lg.com/uk/support/product/lg-OLED65BX6LB
  10. @Janusz Łaski Ensure that your laptop WiFi is on the same frequency band as the TV (i.e. if the TV is using the 2.4GHz band SSID, connect the laptop to the same SSID, likewise with the 5.0GHz band SSID). Some routers combine the 2 bands under ONE SSID, that makes it difficult. If you can log into our router, and split the 2 into 2 seperate SSID names, that might help if that is the case. Also, I heard that having the TV on a LAN cable, and other devices (e.g. Laptop) on WiFi, gives some routers an issue, in that they do not always pass all the required brodacast or negotiation (initialization) packets between WiFi and LAN. This definately affects Apple AirPlay, and maybe AirPlay2 as well, dpenending on your router model, and its security settings, and may well affect casting, screen mirroring, and certain player types and complex sharing apps.
  11. @mark18 Do you have an Amazon Prime account already set up (say on a laptop or iPad - easier to do than on the TV)? If so, in theory it SHOULD work, as LG say they are making it available to most TV models between 2016 and current. See: https://www.lgnewsroom.com/2020/09/lg-brings-amazon-music-app-to-wide-range-of-smart-tvs/ That site article DOES mention that Amazon Prime membership is needed. If you already have this set up, and can log into the app, what error are you getting?
  12. @Janusz Łaski I have an older LG, and also a Foxtel box (soon to get a Fetch box to replace it), so have rarely needed to connect my Laptop. Have done the clunky connecting by HDMI cable before, as my laptop has an HDMI port (for missed episodes not on any catchup services). I think the latest C9 firmware is now 05.00.03 (they might not document all fixes in the Release Notes) : [05.00.03] 1. Launcher visibility improvement 2. Launcher exposure when TV is turned on See here, or search LG site with your actual model number: https://www.lg.com/nz/support/software-firmware?csSalesCode=OLED65C9PVA.ANR Download that to USB stick and install it manually. If that does not fix your issue, you might have to get a "Miracast dongle"! for your TV, if you have a spare HDMI port to use. They are from $11, $40 at Jaycar, $80 for the official Microsoft one.
  13. @RichardD Are you asking as a normal user, or as a developer? If the first one, there are NO options to mess with the settings that you have to do this, it is what it is. If you are a developer, then you should be on the official LG developers forum or group, and have a Developer account, and a test TV set up in developer mode to try/test your dev software.
  14. @Janusz Łaski Ensure that your Windows 10 device is at least at OS version 20H1, or better still 20H2. They have improved the casting/projecting software, to make it more reliable.
  15. @Montino Have you reported this to your country LG support directly? This is only a peer-to-peer enthusiasts forum, and has no direct reporting to LG itself. It may be a buggy app/player, so they might not be aware.
  16. @anton de Freitas What model LG do you have, and are you on the latest Firmware?
  17. @Gerry H. I agree, that is a hassle. As this is only a peer-to-peer advice forum, and has no connection to LG, you will have to report this direct to your country LG support. By the way, have you checked that you have the latest firmware for your TV? What model is it?
  18. @Stephen Davies The "weakest link" in your setup is still going to be with the sound I am afraid. A modern/new AVR (such as my Yamaha RX-V385, 100 watts peak) states 70 watts across 2 channels, but you can "soft limit" the volume by having your MAX set to say -20DB in the Sound settings, so as not to over-drive your 50W speakers. You can get 4K and UHD via a FETCH Mighty set-top-box, and watch what you want, but if you get a Blu-Ray player, you will have to rent or purchase, and I think that works out quite expensive over say a 12-month period, versus a one-off FETCH box purchase, and LOTS of choice (extra channel packs at only $6 per month) with 20 or 30 free movies per month (depending on country). Your 4K UHD will be a GREAT picture, but mediocre sound, and unclear dialogue unless you get at least 3.1 sound and centre speaker.
  19. @Robin S Maybe the WebOS browser is not good enough to do that. Try logging in the SAME ACCOUNT details on another device (laptop/iPAD etc) and agree to the terms on that. If the choice is ACCOUNT based (hopefully) rather than DEVICE based (not good), then maybe you can get it to accept then (it may want to put cookies in the browser so it "knows" you have accepted the details prior, and allows a better login experiance next time, on the TV)? Ovbiously you should "accept cookies" on the TV browser if it asks, as these are mostly benign and helpful, and can often keep you logged in (very handy).
  20. @Pekka This sounds like a deficiency in the mytuner app. You should not have to maintain the the services address lists (or is this a "normal" thing for new stations?) Forgive my ignorance of this, but I have never used this app. Maybe you can contact the APP developers?
  21. @Stephen Davies Sure, I know what you mean, you have to watch the spending on luxuries and "boys toys" these days, and job uncertainties. I had to wait until I had retired before getting some half-decent HiFi. Have you considered a Soundbar? These have improved a lot these days, with the use of modern electronics and firmware/software embedded. I have seen the LG SN4 soundbar advertised on Amazon UK (£175), and $275 at Retrovision Australia, and it has a high star rating. It supports HDMI. https://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-SN4-Sound-Bar/dp/B086DXHRNB/ref=pd_lpo_504_t_0/257-7990909-1582701
  22. @Johnny G Use a device like iPad, or laptop/PC, and "cast" or "project" the screen to the TV. For a Windows 10 device, ensure you have the latest 20H2 feature update.
  23. @Stephen Davies The optical "Toslink" cable ports limit the decoding possibilities (no ATMOS, Dolby DD etc), and only HDMI does the full range of sound decoding methods. In any event, you really need a centre speaker to get good dialogue from TV sound. I changed my old Marantz for a Yamaha RX-V385, and although low-end, it gives lots of options to enhance the dialogue, and adjust the "DPL MOVIE" setting and equaliser, to centre and enhance the dialogue. Where some inputs don't always follow proper HDMI-CEC rules (e.g. Foxtel iQ2 box), the "scene" buttons one the Yamaha remote are great for just a one press to get all the settings for specific inputs (press and hold to remember your setting that you did for a particular input device, just one time). Use HDMI ARC or eARC and 2.1 cables to/from TV for best results.
  24. @Stephen Davies To be honest, I think Bluetooth Speakers are OK with iPhone an iPad users, and other than the Magic Remotes, the Blutooth interface should not be used. For good TV surround sound, you cannot beat a good AVR.
  25. @mlo Try this: Shut Off ACR on LG TVs CR-Electronics-Inline-Smart-TV-Snooping-Features-LGLivePlus-09-19.webp
