Found a solution to this today...... use the remote to switch on the TV (double click the on/off button on remote). TV will then recieve input from the remote and allow setup to continue. It's very slow/unresponsive initially but after a couple of minutes a box appeared on screen saying that the remote had connected and it worked perfectly thereafter. I had been using the on/off button on the TV which didn't alloow remote to connect.
