Yes, you're right about that. As an opportunity remains, call the maintenance of LG. Enforced return of the old firmware, needs to know the risks of brick device or void the warranty.

Latest firmware/software for 55UB850T
vkomitov replied to Sampath's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
I think your TV is 2014 model. The archive is no problem. Probably if you have a problem when downloading files. Usually, the latest versions from the link below are engineering test versions. Here is a link to how to update. If necessary you wear TV of the service center, a test version will invalidate your warranty. -

vkomitov replied to sureader's topic in LG TV and LG webOS Smart TV Discussion
Procedure to update via USB is: 1) Make in USB disk, folder named LG_DTV 2) Copy firmware *.epk in LG_DTV 3) Connect USB disk to TV For LG store. Make sure you take all agreements with LG and check if there an error in the address of the DNS server. Verify that no error in the country to use the TV. In a pinch, call service support. -

Is there any possibility to use another USB camera with Skype? Are there any tests done? LG camera has quite a high price for such a device probably is not universal for use with other devices. And experience shows that despite the declared requirements for Skype in LG Store (presence of internet connection) does not work without a camera.

This is related to the requirements of the Digital Rights Management (DRM) and is present in almost all devices with recording capability.
-
Maybe you're right and connection is possible only in LG ecosystem.

I do not know what level maintenance Bluetooth, but my TV is connected to the soundbar LG NB2540 via Bluetooth. LG NB2540 supports A2DP.

TV is nice but there are a lot of details to be fixed. And as far as we know this is not a strong part of LG. Frustrating slow interface. TV may have worked a long time and can switch options menu, wait at least 10 seconds. All this happens in a dual-core processor. SmartShare again can not remember my desire, to i see the content in folders. Bad maintenance of subtitles. There is no possibility to change and preserve the default encoding to another on the list. At the same time can remembers the color, size and position of the subtitle. For extra as 3D dynamic subtitles, that each blu ray device supports, i do not even think. I do not want to talk about the strange consumer agreements and any restriction imposed by LG, if you do not accept. Such arrogance, even Apple does not allow.

vkomitov replied to johnedlt's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
App is LG TV Remote-webOS and need be paired with TV. Both devices must be on the same wifi network. In the settings for the TV network should be allowed use of LG connect apps. -
Problem can create a HDD with a very long cord or if it requires special drivers and startup programs. Suffice it to disk is formatted as FAT32 or NTFS. No need to remove other records from HDD. TV created in the root directory of the disk folder lg_dvr. Recording video format is MPEG 2 and is encrypted.

LB731 webOS - problem with subtitle encoding and mkv files
vkomitov replied to BrUtAlls's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
I convert subtitles from UTF-8 to ANSI with "Notepad + +". Yes, strange symbols disappear. -
In LG App Store as requirements for Skype says - internet connection. ))) I have a WiFi keyboard and I would like just to write to my friends. For LG that's not important. They are keen to sell me a camera further per 100$.

LB731 webOS - problem with subtitle encoding and mkv files
vkomitov replied to BrUtAlls's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
Yes, this is probably a bug of WebOS and LG do not take any action. Furthermore, there is a problem when reading UTF-8 subtitles. Appear strange symbols sometimes. Personally, I always convert subtitles in ANSI and have no problem with their transcripts. -
