Evolving further, LG 2024 QNED TVs have developed significantly more intelligence with the α8 AI Processor, improving upon its predecessor with a 1.3-fold increase in AI performance, a 2.3-fold enhancement in graphic performance and a processing speed that is 1.6 times faster.

Leveraging cutting-edge technology for a more refined visual representation, AI Picture Pro offers the ultimate picture quality based on deep learning. This versatile feature adeptly distinguishes faces, objects and backgrounds within a scene, enriching the texture and fine details to present images with unparalleled realism. Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro splits the picture into blocks and analyzes each in real-time to detect the darkest and brightest areas, elevating the details with precise HDR optimization to deliver three-dimensional image quality.       Company Sets New Record for Annual Revenue

      SEOUL, Jan. 8, 2025 — LG Electronics Inc. (LG) today announced its preliminary earnings results for the fourth quarter and full-year of 2024, reporting a consolidated revenue of KRW 87.74 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 3.43 trillion. This marks a new record for the highest annual revenue in the company’s history.
      Over the past four years, LG’s consolidated revenue has seen a compound annual growth rate of over 10 percent. The company has managed to grow while maintaining solid fundamentals amidst various external uncertainties. Strategic shifts in business models, including subscription services and Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) initiatives, have driven growth beyond the limits of its core businesses. The expansion of Business-to-Business (B2B) operations has also contributed significantly to the revenue increase.
      Despite various challenges, profitability remained stable on an annual basis. In the second half of last year, unexpected global shipping cost surges and one-time costs for inventory rationalization impacted profitability. However, the overall annual business performance showed positive qualitative growth driven by business portfolio realignment.
      In the fourth quarter of last year, LG recorded consolidated revenue of KRW 22.78 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 146.1 billion. This year, the company aims to accelerate qualitative growth through business portfolio transformation. LG will focus on strengthening fundamental competitiveness in areas such as quality and cost while maximizing efforts to secure a robust profit structure through fixed cost efficiency.
      The home appliance business, a core segment for the company, is expected to surpass KRW 30 trillion in revenue for the second consecutive year. The strategy of expanding AI appliances and volume zone lineups, along with diversifying business models to subscription and D2C, has driven solid performance. Growth in the B2B sector, including heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), built-in appliances and component solutions, continues steadily.
      LG plans to expand its subscription business to countries such as Thailand and India, in addition to existing markets like Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan. The HVAC business, which holds the largest share in LG’s home appliance B2B area, will now operate as an independent business unit to become a global top-tier, comprehensive air solutions business.
      In the TV business, despite the overall market experiencing delayed demand recovery, demand in premium markets such as Europe is gradually improving. The company’s webOS-based advertising and content business continues to expand its ecosystem across TVs, smart monitors and automotive infotainment systems. Beginning this year, the company will seek to further expand the foundations of its advertising and content business through its OLED and QNED “Dual Track” strategy in premium markets, as well as meeting market-specific demands across the globe with volume zone lineups. Additionally, in accordance with last year’s organizational restructuring, the company plans to enhance synergies between hardware and platform businesses through the integrated operation of its screen-based offerings including TVs and IT and ID products.
      The vehicle component business has experienced a temporary slowdown in demand for electric vehicles. Despite this, it has continued to achieve solid results and is on track to surpass KRW 10 trillion in revenue for the second consecutive year. The company will focus on responding to the transition to software-defined vehicles (SDV) and strengthening internal stability through profitability-centered operations.
      These figures are tentative consolidated earnings based on K-IFRS provided as a service to investors prior to LG Electronics’ final earnings results, including net profit. Details regarding each division will be announced officially later this month.

      Sets a New Standard for the Mobility Experience

      SEOUL, Jan. 3, 2024 — LG Electronics (LG), working with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., will introduce the groundbreaking Cross Domain Controller (xDC) platform for vehicles at CES 2025. Based on Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon Ride Flex System-on-Chip (SoC),* which pre-integrates Snapdragon Ride automated driving stack and computer vision, this cutting-edge solution incorporates LG’s In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) System and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) into a single controller. The xDC platform is set to redefine vehicle performance and elevate the mobility experience.
      Due to the increasing complexity of modern vehicles, the need for a central computer that can efficiently manage diverse functionalities has become paramount. The Flex SoC addresses this need, presenting a single SoC with pre-integrated ADAS, automated driving capabilities and an open platform offering support for digital cockpit and IVI. By utilizing Qualcomm Technologies’ flexible, multifunctional chipset, LG’s xDC platform is able to rapidly process data from IVI and ADAS systems concurrently, enhancing the overall driving experience. Along with providing a more efficient mobility experience, this single-SoC innovation reduces component costs. The xDC platform also delivers the proactive assistance of “ADAS confidence view,” which combines 3D and 2D graphics to help drivers maintain focus on the road.

      SEOUL, Dec. 18, 2024 — LG Electronics (LG) unveiled today its renewed 2025 QNED evo lineup, featuring new proprietary wide color gamut technology, a true wireless viewing experience that transmits 4K 144Hz1 images without loss of picture quality or delay, AI-enhanced picture and sound processing, and an ultra-personalized AI-based customer experience via webOS 25.
      LG continues to strengthen its competitiveness in the global premium TV market through a dual-track strategy. This strategy emphasizes LG’s market-leading, self-emissive OLED lineup and the QNED evo series – a premium LCD TV lineup that incorporates key OLED innovations, such as advanced AI capabilities and wireless convenience.
      The 2025 QNED evo lineup boasts an improved color gamut compared to previous models by applying LG’s new proprietary wide color gamut technology, Dynamic QNED Color Solution, which replaces quantum dots. This unique technology enables light from the backlight to be expressed in pure colors that are as realistic as they appear to the eye in general life.
      With the application of Dynamic QNED Color Solution, the entire 2025 QNED evo lineup is 100 percent certified by global testing and certification organization Intertek for Color Volume, measuring a screen’s ability to display the rich colors of original images without distortion.
      In 2025, LG will also unveil the QNED evo (QNED9M) featuring its True Wireless 4K technology. This innovation, previously exclusive to the top-tier OLED evo model (M Series) last year, will now be available in the QNED evo lineup. The TV itself requires only a power cord, allowing for more convenient storage of gaming consoles and set-top boxes.
      The company additionally continues to raise the picture and sound quality of its QNED evo lineup by offering more powerful editions of its proprietary AI processors. 2025 LG QNED evo models are equipped with the α8 AI Processor, offering close to 70 percent improvement in AI performance compared to the previous year. This processor delivers picture and sound at a level worthy of ultra-large TVs.
      These AI capabilities include more advanced upscaling, analyzing the filmmaker’s intent to adjust picture noise and presenting faces, objects, text and backgrounds more naturally. Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro breaks down each scene to fine-tune HDR effects and brightness for each zone.       The new AI Magic Remote, included with the 2025 QNED evo, features a new AI button for easy analysis of viewing preferences and recommendations on what to watch and which apps to use. Personalization is further enhanced by Voice ID, Generative AI Gallery3 and customized TV picture and sound quality modes. A short press on the AI button guides users to relevant keywords and TV features, while a long press enables personalized searches based on a large language model (LLM4). For example, if a user is planning a trip to France, they can ask their remote, “Recommend movies to watch on my trip to Paris.” The AI will understand the context and suggest movies set in the French capital, including specific genre recommendations based on the user’s viewing preferences.
      LG’s proprietary smart TV platform, webOS 25, elevates the customer experience by offering hyper-personalized service advancements and content through its best-of-all-time AI features and the ongoing webOS Re:New Program, which includes webOS upgrades for five years.
      The 2025 QNED lineup will also now range from 40 to 100 inches as LG is expanding its QNED lineup by introducing a 100-inch option in response to customer demand for ultra-large, premium LCD TVs.
