SEOUL, Mar. 8, 2024 — LG Electronics (LG) announces the global launch of the LG StanbyME Speaker (model XT7S), the company’s latest portable speaker which works in harmony with an LG StanbyME lifestyle screen or as a standalone speaker that can be taken anywhere.

Designed to enrich both indoor and outdoor entertainment, LG StanbyME Speaker’s compelling audio quality and remarkable versatility caters to the diverse lifestyles and preferences of today’s users. Ideal for design-conscious individuals who relish streaming content and music at home or on the go, this speaker hit the market in Korea and the U.S. and will be made available in more regions later.

Engineered to offer the complete entertainment experience when combined with a StanbyME screen, this speaker features seamless, intuitive pairing and control through the remote control that comes with the StanbyME screen. This allows users to effortlessly toggle their speaker and screen on and off with a single press, while also seamlessly connecting them via Bluetooth.       LG has once again left a lasting impression on visitors to ISH, one of the world’s biggest annual tradeshows for HVAC, water and sanitation solutions. Held in Frankfurt, Germany, the event highlighted LG’s extensive range of integrated heating solutions customized for diverse environments and spaces, including high-efficiency residential heat pumps and large-capacity commercial systems. Tailormade for the European market and compliant with the European Union’s F-gas Regulation, LG’s products exclusively employ refrigerants with a low Global Warming Potential (GWP).

      A major attraction at LG’s booth, the Hero zone introduced ISH visitors to the exceptional Therma V R290 Monobloc air-to-water heat pump (AWHP) for residential applications. Displayed beneath a captivating hanging façade at the center of the zone, the new Therma V boasts a sleek, minimalist design, quiet operation and outstanding cold-climate performance, thanks to LG’s advanced scroll compressor. Designed with user comfort and the health of the planet in mind, the Therma V employs R290 refrigerant, which has a GWP of 3, to reduce carbon emissions.

      LG also showcased the Monobloc G and Cascade Control Unit, two sophisticated solutions suitable for multi-unit apartment buildings and large homes. The Cascade Control Unit offers flexible scalability, allowing users to add up to eight outdoor units to their HVAC system. This adaptability not only meets varying heating demands but also optimizes energy efficiency, thereby contributing to the reduction of HVAC running costs.

      Another notable exhibit was the new LG heat pump water heater (HPWH) with R290 refrigerant. Displayed in a booth area designed to resemble a stylish European kitchen, the versatile HPWH R290 utilizes both air and electricity as energy sources, achieving greater efficiency than traditional electric or a gas-powered water heaters. Its simple design ensures compatibility with various installation environments and customer needs, offering seamless integration with various types of indoor units, such as control, hydro and combi.

      In response to recent EU restrictions on refrigerant usage, LG has launched a complete lineup of reliable commercial HVAC solutions utilizing R32 refrigerant (GWP of 675). Visitors learned about the innovative, large-capacity Inverter Scroll Chiller, which leverages twin inverter scroll compressors to maximize cooling power and operational efficiency. The Inverter Scroll Chiller can be integrated with LG’s Building Energy Control (BECON) CPM system, which utilizes advanced AI technologies to simplify control and monitoring of LG’s commercial HVAC solutions.

      The Multi V i R32 variable refrigerant flow (VRF) solution was another attraction at LG’s booth. Incorporating the company’s AI engine, the Multi V i intelligently manages temperatures across multiple indoor spaces. This VRF solution includes a full package of integrated solutions, including a number of safety features and systems designed to enhance stability and reliability, and provides time-saving troubleshooting assistance with Smart Diagnosis.

      Company Expands 6G Leadership With 3GPP Executive Role and Cutting-Edge R&D 

      SEOUL, March 14, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) continues to solidify its leadership in 6G communications, a transformative technology poised to shape the future of connectivity. 
      Kim Lae-young, Senior Research Engineer at LG’s CTO Office, has been appointed Vice Chair of the Service and System Aspects (SA) plenary at the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), the global authority on mobile communications standards. The SA plenary plays a pivotal role in defining 5G and 6G system architectures, service scenarios, requirements and security mechanisms. It also drives the evolution of 5G-Advanced and the standardization of next-generation 6G technologies. 
      This appointment underscores LG’s expertise in communications protocols and system architecture. The company has already demonstrated its leadership by serving consecutive terms as the chair company of the Applications Working Group in the Next G Alliance, a North American 6G technology initiative led by the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions. 
      With this latest leadership role, LG aims to accelerate 6G research and development while actively contributing to global standardization efforts. 6G technology – enabling ultra-fast, low-latency and AI-integrated communication – will be crucial to LG’s future innovations in AI-powered smart homes, mobility and smart factories. 
      LG has been at the forefront of 6G research, driving innovation through strategic partnerships and pioneering initiatives. In 2019, it established Korea’s first dedicated 6G academic research center, the LG-KAIST 6G Research Center.       SEOUL, March 12, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) has reaffirmed its dominance in the premium TV market, leading global OLED TV shipments in 2024 with over 52.4 percent of the market share. For 12 consecutive years, LG has commanded the global OLED TV market, continually enhancing the TV experience with audiovisual excellence and AI-powered personalization, embodying the true essence of OLED technology with perfect black levels and enhanced brightness.
      According to market research firm Omdia, LG secured the top spot in the global OLED TV market last year, shipping an impressive 3.18 million OLED TV units. Notably, fourth-quarter shipments alone surpassed 1.1 million units, showcasing the company’s ability to deliver cutting-edge technology that meets evolving consumer preferences.
      OLED TVs accounted for 45 percent of the premium TV market in 2023, based on models priced at USD 1,500 and above, marking an 8.5 percentage point increase from the previous year. With the market expected to exceed 50 percent this year, LG is committed to driving innovation and maintaining its leadership in the OLED TV industry.
      As demand for larger screens continues to rise, the number of ultra-large OLED TV shipments has also increased, comprising 16 percent of the entire OLED TV market. LG remains at the forefront, dominating the market with a 57.5 percent share in 2024 for OLED screens of 75 inches and above, including a compelling selection of 77-inch, 83-inch, 88-inch and 97-inch models.
      Backed by over a decade of OLED innovation, LG is set to introduce its latest OLED TVs, featuring advancements like wireless transmission of audio and visual content up to 4K 144Hz with no latency or loss in quality, AI-powered personalization through webOS, and superior picture quality with enhanced brightness and perfect black levels for a truly exceptional viewing experience.
      Global TV shipments reached 208.8 million units last year, marking a return to growth after three years, with OLED TV shipments rising 8 percent year-on-year to 6.07 million units. Additionally, LG’s total TV shipments across both OLED and LCD models reached 22.6 million units last year, representing 16.1 percent of global TV market revenue.
