Hi,

I have an LG 43UH750V ZA TV which I have connected to a BT YouView box which in turn is connected to a broadband router. I normally do most of my viewing of TV through the Free View service provided via the BT You View box. On the LG TV there is a facility for web browsing. However, this does not appear to work through the internet connection via the BT You View box and the router.

Does anyone know if this is a valid configuration that should work or does the TV need its own direct internet connection to a router? Thanks.

The internet connection to the YouView box does not reach down the HDMI cable to the TV, even if that cable has the Ethernet strand.

You should however be able to connect the TV to the router via WiFi, or via another Ethernet cable, which ever is most convenient for you.

The dialogue will be under Network in Settings, the gear wheel symbol on your remote (give it a long press so that it opens up completely); on my LG C2, Network is then under General, but it’s under Connections on my GX, so you may have to look for it in the Settings.

Then you just have the normal WiFi dialogue, SSID and password, as when setting up any device on your WiFi.

I did dig out a manual online for your TV; it confirms the TV has WiFi, but oddly, there doesn’t seem to be a section on setting it up. Maybe this is in the Quick Start/First Setup guide?

Anyway, it should be easy to do. And once you have done this, the Browser app will work, and likely all the other apps along that row, like the BBC iPlayer and so on.

After viewing photos/videos on a flashdrive plugged into the USB of an LG TV and using SmartShare to view... and then removing the USB and then no longer having access to the TV... I noticed on the flashdrive a new folder called "LG TV" and within what appears to be files that may have been the thumbnails displayed on the TV. My question is... do those thumbnails also remain on the TV as "recently viewed" history even without the USB plugged in? The LG Smart TV online user guide refers to "Recent" ("To view a list of recently viewed or added content, select Recent). Would thumbnails be there without the source flashdrive?

I recently bought a LG TV with WebOS version 8.1 and have a frustrating issue.
I have a usb disk with all my family photos & videos archive in it.
We love to browse through the pictures and videos on big screen.
But current LG TV media player displays either pictures or videos. I want to see them in the order they were captured.
It would be great to enable this feature when "Photos & Videos" filter is selected.

Is there a way or another app to view photos & videos at the same time? (slideshow)
