Sky News stopped working after the webOS update

webOS updated, I think to 2023, on my C2 a couple of days ago. Since then the News option on the Sky News app no longer works, instead timing out. The Weather and Climate options still work, though.

I have deleted and reloaded the Sky News app, but the problem remains.

Does anybody have any suggestions of what I might try to get this working again, or is this something for LG, or Sky, to fix?

Started to work again for a while, and then stopped again, as above. Still just the News option, which times out; all the other options on the app work fine. 
 

And just my C2 from 2022, bought in 2023, is affected. My 2020 GX and my 2021 Nano-somethingorother work fine with News on this Sky News app.

The app works perfectly on my expensive AppleTV box plugged into one of the TV’s HDMI ports 😛

But once you have started the Apple TV, it’s an absolute bugger to get it to let go of the TV and yet still leave it switched on 😢

So my preferred workaround Is terrestrial 233.

Yes, I can do that, but the Apple box just sits there, still on. Any attempt to turn it off with its On/Off button, either turns it on again, or it does turn off, but the TV with it.

After which, when I turn the TV on again, it comes up on the Apple TV, not what I left it on.

If I CBA, I’d ask on an Apple forum how to avoid this, I suppose.

I noticed if I'm watching any of the LG's built in channels and then turn off the TV, the TV will always start up again on HDMI,

whether the external device is on or not.

If I have the TV set to "Live TV" (the tuner), and turn the TV off/on, it will start up at the Live TV.

I don't think you can change this behavior.

Regarding your AppleTV box, can't you turn it off (or put it to standby) by its remote control?

There a probably a setting in the TV that controls whether the TV should turn off when an HDMI device turns off,

but I've never seen this in mine (2017 uj series)

But about a year ago something changed and the Livestream became covered up by the programming grid (with a little bit showing above the grid) and nothing I can do removes it.       Hi, my LG webOS TV TN520S is running  software version 05.45.45 and since then the channel 4 and channel 5 apps are broken. You can start to watch a program but as soon as the first set of adverts start, the app just loops and you cant progress past the adverts. I a wondering if this is because the TV is running the latest version of its software (I've searched for newer versions but none are shown). Has anyone else had this problem and is it possible to install a previous version of the TV's software to see if this resolves the problem.

      Developers from around the world applied for the opportunity to present their ideas for apps or services to be used on webOS-based LG Smart TVs in millions of homes, with the goal of diversifying and improving the gaming experience on the LG TVs powered by webOS.
      Over three hundred entries were submitted from more than 50 countries. Finalists were invited to present their ideas onstage to a panel of LG executives and over 300 market-leading companies. The top three winners received a meaningful opportunity to engage with the LG team to develop their ideas and resources for business implementation on webOS. They will continue to work with the LG team to prepare the family-friendly gaming solutions for LG TVs by June 2025. Cash prizes were awarded to the top three winners of the hackathon, with the Grand Prize of USD 100,000 for first place, USD 80,000 for second place and USD 50,000 for third place.
