SEOUL, July 25, 2024LG Electronics Inc. (LG) today announced second-quarter 2024 consolidated revenue of KRW 21.69 trillion and operating profit of KRW 1.20 trillion, reflecting an 8.5 percent year-over-year increase in revenue and a 61.2 percent surge in operating profit. These figures mark new records for the highest second-quarter revenue and operating profit in the company’s history.

Key drivers of this performance include the home appliance and vehicle component sectors, both achieving their highest quarterly revenues to date. Sales from LG’s Home Appliance & Air Solution Company and Vehicle component Solutions Company combined reached KRW 11.53 trillion, up 8.2 percent from the previous year. Both Companies also reported record-high second-quarter operating profits, totaling KRW 776.1 billion, which represents a 45 percent year-over-year increase.

These results highlight LG’s balanced growth across its core and future businesses. This growth demonstrates not only external expansion but also solid profitability, contributing to qualitative improvements in overall performance.

LG continues to transform its business portfolio towards a future-oriented approach, maximizing the potential of existing businesses while securing new growth opportunities. The company is also focused on rapidly advancing high-growth potential new businesses.

The fast growth in LG’s B2B sector significantly contributes to establishing a future-oriented business structure. Despite a temporary slowdown in EV demand, the vehicle component business continues to grow, supported by a diversified client base of electric and internal combustion vehicles and a strong order backlog. Additionally, LG’s heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) business, which includes high-efficiency chillers, is exploring growth opportunities within the AI infrastructure sector.

In the B2C domain, LG is accelerating the integration of new business models that combine traditional hardware sales with intangible, non-hardware offerings such as content, services and subscriptions. The webOS content and services business is expanding beyond TVs into IT and infotainment, with projected revenues set to surpass KRW 1 trillion this year.

Additionally, the subscription business, which merges products with services, is gaining remarkable momentum. After achieving success in Korea, LG is now expanding this subscription model internationally. Last year, subscription revenue exceeded KRW 1 trillion, with growth accelerating this year. In June, 36.2 percent of major home appliances sold at LG Brand Shops in Korea were subscription-based. This model, particularly popular among young Korean customers, is now being introduced to global markets. For example, LG has launched LG Rent-Up in Malaysia, offering subscriptions for nine products, including washing machines, dryers and refrigerators.

LG is also expediting the advancement of new businesses. The smart factory business, which combines the company’s manufacturing expertise with AI, is expected to secure orders worth KRW 300 billion this year, expanding its customer base in industries such as semiconductors and biotechnology. Furthermore, LG’s partnership with ChargePoint, North America’s leading EV charging company, is set to boost the EV charging business by combining ChargePoint’s chargers with LG’s commercial display advertising solutions, ‘LG DOOH Ads,’ creating new market opportunities.

The LG Home Appliance & Air Solution Company generated second-quarter revenue of KRW 8.84 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 694.4 billion. Compared to the same period last year, revenue increased by 11 percent and operating profit by 16 percent, marking the highest revenue for a single quarter and the strongest second-quarter operating profit to date.

In the second quarter, LG’s volume zone strategy – designed to address polarized market demand – proved effective by diversifying its product lineup and pricing to meet growing needs in emerging markets such as Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. Contributions from new business areas, including subscriptions and Online Brand Shop sales, bolstered the strong performance. Looking ahead to the third quarter, LG intends to remain agile in adapting to market shifts and to continue expanding its B2B sectors, particularly HVAC and built-in appliances. The recent acquisition of smart home platform company Athom is expected to create synergies within the home appliance sector. Additionally, LG will leverage its top-tier global manufacturing capabilities to secure robust profitability.

The LG Vehicle component Solutions Company achieved second-quarter revenue of KRW 2.69 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 81.7 billion. Revenue increased by 1 percent year-over-year, and the operating profit turned positive. This quarter’s revenue was the highest for any quarter, and the operating profit was the strongest for a second quarter.

Despite a temporary slowdown in the EV market during this period, LG saw growth by effectively addressing increased demand for premium in-vehicle infotainment products and plans to continue expanding its vehicle components business. This strategy includes increasing sales of premium new products as well as safety and convenience solutions, such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, in line with existing order programs.

The LG Home Entertainment Company posted second-quarter revenue of KRW 3.62 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 97 billion. Revenue increased by 15.3 percent compared to the same period last year, driven by a recovery in demand in Europe, a key market for premium OLED TVs. Growth also continued in the webOS content and service business. However, operating profit declined due to increased costs, including rising LCD panel prices.

Overall TV market demand is expected to show modest growth in the third quarter compared to last year, with premium OLED TVs anticipated to outperform the broader market. LG will aim to maintain operational efficiency by minimizing cost burdens, such as rising LCD panel prices, through increased sales of OLED TVs.

The LG Business Solutions Company reported second-quarter revenue of KRW 1.46 trillion and an operating loss of KRW 5.9 billion. Revenue increased by 9.9 percent year-over-year, driven by expanded sales of strategic products such as LED signage, electronic whiteboards and gaming monitors. However, profitability was impacted by cost increases, including LCD panel prices, and ongoing investments in growth areas like EV charging and robotics.

In the third quarter, market growth for premium products such as commercial displays and gaming monitors is expected to continue. The Company will focus on expanding sales of strategic products and improving profitability through efficient resource management.

Driven by Balanced Growth in Home Appliance and B2B Sectors

SEOUL, April 24, 2025 — LG Electronics Inc. (LG) today announced consolidated revenue of KRW 22.74 trillion and operating profit of KRW 1.26 trillion for the first quarter of 2025. This marks the highest first-quarter revenue in the company’s history and the sixth consecutive year in which operating profit surpassed KRW 1 trillion during the first quarter. Strong performance was driven by qualitative growth across key business areas, especially in B2B, non-hardware segments (such as subscriptions and webOS platform) and direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales.
Vehicle solutions and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) – both critical to LG’s B2B strategy and future growth – delivered record-breaking quarterly revenue and operating profit. Combined operating profit from the Vehicle Solution Company and Eco Solution Company increased 37.2 percent year-over-year, with revenue climbing 12.3 percent.
The Home Appliance Solution Company, LG’s flagship business and primary profit generator, also recorded its highest-ever quarterly revenue while maintaining global market leadership. The business is rapidly transforming through innovative models such as subscription services and D2C sales. Meanwhile, the media and entertainment segment demonstrated solid performance, led by continued growth in LG’s webOS-based advertising and content platform.
The LG Home Appliance Solution Company reported first-quarter revenue of KRW 6.70 trillion and operating profit of KRW 644.6 billion. Compared to the same period last year, revenue increased by 9.3 percent, setting a new record, and operating profit grew by 9.9 percent. The Company continues to maintain its market leadership while accelerating the growth of its subscription and D2C sales.
Looking to the second quarter, the Company anticipates increased uncertainty due to shifting global trade policies and increasing market competition. To address these challenges, the Company will expand its portfolio of new and volume-zone products, while deepening its focus on subscription and online businesses. Additional priorities include focusing on opportunities in B2B such as built-in appliances and external sales of key components like motors and compressors. Profitability efforts will center on enhancing cost competitiveness through optimizing operational efficiency.
The LG Media Entertainment Solution Company posted first-quarter revenue of KRW 4.95 trillion and operating profit of KRW 4.9 billion. While TV demand remained soft, growth in webOS-based advertising and content services made a greater contribution to performance. Revenue remained in line with the previous year, though profitability was impacted by rising LCD panel prices and higher marketing spend.
In the second quarter, the Company will seek to create synergies across its display-focused businesses, including TVs, commercial displays, and IT products such as laptops and monitors. While the market recovers slowly, the Company will emphasize profitability, particularly through premium products. The expanding webOS-based platform will aim to increase geographic reach and product base while advancing strategic partnerships with content providers to maintain its growth trajectory.
The LG Vehicle Solution Company recorded its highest-ever quarterly revenue and operating profit, with revenue of KRW 2.84 trillion and operating profit of KRW 125.1 billion. Growth continues to be powered by a robust order backlog totaling KRW 100 trillion. Notably, profitability improved in the in-vehicle infotainment business, where premium product share is steadily increasing. In the second quarter, the Company aims to sustain revenue growth and solidify a stable profit structure by expanding high-value product sales, optimizing operations in the EV component business, and enhancing resource efficiency.
The LG Eco Solution Company also achieved record-high quarterly revenue and operating profit. First-quarter revenue reached KRW 3.05 trillion, with operating profit of KRW 406.7 billion, resulting in a strong operating margin of 13.3 percent. Year-over-year, revenue rose 18.0 percent and operating profit grew 21.2 percent. Since the beginning of 2025, LG has operated its HVAC business as an independent division, with noticeable performance gains driven by efficient resource allocation and a B2B-focused organizational structure.
Alongside the Vehicle Solution Company, the Eco Solution Company serves as a core engine of LG’s B2B growth. In the second quarter, the Company will seek to expand sales of new residential HVAC products and secure commercial air conditioning contracts in emerging markets. It also plans to target large-scale industrial and power-generation projects – including AI data centers – by leveraging its ultra-large chiller solutions.

The Company Achieves Record-High First-Quarter Revenue
      Surpassing KRW 22 Trillion

SEOUL, Apr. 7, 2025 — LG Electronics Inc. (LG) today announced its preliminary earnings results for the first-quarter of 2025, reporting a consolidated revenue of KRW 22.7 trillion and operating profit of KRW 1.3 trillion.
This marks the first time LG’s first-quarter revenue has exceeded KRW 22 trillion. Despite ongoing macroeconomic challenges, including a global economic slowdown, the company’s focus on “qualitative growth” businesses played a key role.
Especially in B2B sectors, the Eco Solution (ES) business has been the primary driver of growth in both revenue and profitability. Other areas—such as subscription services, webOS-based advertising and content, and direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales—also contributed to the company’s record-breaking results.
Operating profit exceeded KRW 1 trillion for the sixth consecutive year, continuing to reflect a stable profit structure. Increased revenue from high-margin areas created a strong operating leverage effect, helping to sustain a stable profit structure. Additional drivers of profitability included efficient resource allocation, normalization of raw material and logistics costs, and enhanced agility in global production operations.
In the home appliance solution business, LG’s premium products maintained strong leadership in the global market. The built-in appliance business – a B2B segment – alongside key component sales such as motors and compressors, also contributed meaningfully to the performance.
The company’s subscription business, which combines hardware and services, is rapidly expanding. In 2025, LG plans to further strengthen its subscription-ready product lineup and customer care services, while also accelerating the global rollout of its subscription model.
In the media and entertainment solution business, from this year, LG is integrating its display-based businesses – including TVs, IT (laptops, monitors) and ID (commercial displays) – to generate synergy in its webOS-based advertising and content platform, traditionally centered around smart TVs.
LG’s 2025 TV lineup introduced enhanced AI features such as personalized content recommendations, superior picture quality and immersive sound. New products like the ultra-light LG gram Pro AI laptop and the portable LG StanbyME 2 lifestyle screen received positive responses from global markets. The commercial display segment also secured several large-scale international contracts.
The vehicle solution business, continues to expand sales of high value-added products, especially in in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems, while diversifying into automotive content platforms. LG Magna e-Powertrain is strengthening its competitiveness through advanced motor and inverter technologies and is enhancing operational capabilities at global production sites to support long-term growth. Meanwhile, the automotive lighting business is accelerating development of next-generation technologies, such as high-resolution and intelligent lighting systems, while improving overall efficiency.
The heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) business began operating as an independent Company in the first quarter. By focusing business capabilities on the essence of the order-based HVAC business and the characteristics of customers, the company is increasing its contribution to profitability.
In the commercial HVAC space, LG secured major overseas contracts in markets such as Singapore, thanks to its ability to provide localized, tailored solutions. Going forward, LG aims to make HVAC a core pillar of its B2B portfolio by leveraging its proprietary technologies in compressors, fans, heat exchangers and AI engines.
In the residential market, LG plans to maintain its leadership with AI-powered innovations. Additionally, in industrial and power-generation sectors, the company is actively pursuing new opportunities with large-scale chiller systems.
These figures are tentative consolidated earnings based on K-IFRS provided as a service to investors prior to LG Electronics’ final earnings results, including net profit. Details regarding each division will be announced officially later this month.

Company Achieves Highest Annual Revenue as Home Appliances and Vehicle
Components Continue Growth for Ninth Consecutive Year

SEOUL, Jan. 23, 2025 — LG Electronics Inc. (LG) announced its financial results for the year 2024, disclosing a consolidated revenue of KRW 87.73 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 3.42 trillion. This marks a new record for the highest annual revenue in the company’s history.
In terms of revenue, both the home appliances and the vehicle components business continued their growth for the ninth consecutive year, contributing to the company’s highest revenue achievement. The LG Home Entertainment Company and Business Solutions Company also saw an increase in revenue compared to the previous year.
Operating profit experienced a slight decline compared to the previous year, primarily due to external factors such as a delayed recovery in global demand for home appliances and increased logistics costs in the second half of the year. Despite these challenges, the company maintained a stable profit structure on an annual basis. This stability was achieved through qualitative growth resulting from business portfolio restructuring and the operating leverage effect from increased sales.
      2024 Business Performance
The LG Home Appliance & Air Solution Company reported a revenue of KRW 33.2 trillion in 2024. After surpassing KRW 30 trillion in annual revenue for the first time two years ago, the Company has continued to demonstrate sustainable performance, achieving double-digit revenue growth last year. Operating profit reached KRW 2.04 trillion, overcoming the challenges posed by increased logistics costs. This marks the first time since 2021 that the Company has exceeded KRW 2 trillion in operating profit.
The Company’s qualitative growth was driven by changes in its business models, which include home appliance subscriptions and Direct-to-Consumer sales. Revenue from home appliance subscriptions surged by over 75 percent compared to the previous year, nearing KRW 2 trillion. In addition, the B2B segment, which includes heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, continued to expand.
The LG Home Entertainment Company reported a revenue of KRW 15.23 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 315.9 billion in 2024. Sales of OLED TVs saw growth in regions such as Europe and Asia, driven by global sports events. Additionally, the webOS-based advertising and content business surpassed KRW 1 trillion in annual revenue.
The LG Vehicle component Solutions Company reported a revenue of KRW 10.62 trillion in 2024, marking the second consecutive year it has surpassed KRW 10 trillion in revenue. Despite experiencing a temporary slowdown in demand for electric vehicles, the Company demonstrated stable revenue growth for the ninth consecutive year, supported by a high order backlog. However, operating profit decreased to KRW 115.7 billion compared to the previous year, primarily due to increased development costs for new order projects and R&D investments aimed at transitioning to software-defined vehicles (SDV).
The LG Business Solutions Company reported a revenue of KRW 5.69 trillion in 2024, with an operating loss of KRW 193.1 billion. The increase in revenue was driven by a focus on customized commercial displays for sectors such as hotels, stores, businesses and schools, as well as premium IT products like the LG gram. However, the Company continued to face operating losses due to rising raw material prices for key products and intensified market competition.
      2025 Business Directions
LG will consistently pursue qualitative growth through business portfolio innovation, despite the rapidly changing global market and competitive environment. Following the regrouping of the company’s business operation units at the end of last year, LG aims to enhance synergies between its businesses and improve operational efficiency. Additionally, LG will focus on strengthening the fundamental competitiveness of its businesses in terms of quality and cost, while securing a sound profit structure.
The LG Home Appliance Solution Company plans to launch new products with regional specialization and AI applications, aiming to expand sales by increasing sales of its volume zone lineups. The Company will also advance its AI home solution business to achieve its goal of “Zero Labor Home, Makes Quality Time.” Additionally, the subscriptions business will actively expand beyond Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan to include Thailand, India and other regions, continuously creating new opportunities.
The LG Media Entertainment Solution Company aims to expand sales of premium products such as OLED and QNED, while providing differentiated customer experiences through AI features. The Company will integrate operations of LG’s screen-based businesses – including TVs, IT devices and information displays – to enhance synergies between hardware and platform businesses. Additionally, webOS will be developed into an integrated content and services platform for both indoor and outdoor use through continuous content investment and partnership expansion.
The LG Vehicle Solution Company aims to focus on going beyond a supplier of vehicle components to becoming a provider of innovative solutions for the entire vehicular experience. The Company will focus on securing SDV capabilities in preparation for the future. It will also strive to maintain stable revenue based on its order backlogs while improving profitability through product mix enhancement and overall operational improvements.
The newly established LG Eco Solution Company aims to rapidly grow LG’s HVAC business into a global top-tier player by leveraging its core technological competitiveness in key components such as motors and compressors. The Company will focus on building locally self-sustainable production systems and developing region-specific solutions. It will provide comprehensive solutions optimized for various spaces, including industrial, commercial, public and residential facilities, ranging from large chillers to commercial and residential air conditioners.
      Earnings Conference and Conference Call
