Question

Posted

I have an optical plugged into a hearing aid box. I also have an LG S95QR sound bar plugged into the eARC.

Works fine in eARC. When I try to select the optical + TV option for output, it switches over ok for about .5 seconds, then automatically switches back to the eARC output without me doing it.

Does anyone know what it might do this? Why can't I change my output if I so choose?

This may well be the TV firmware working as designed. You might want to try turning off the SIMPLINK (cec control) in the HDMI settings. However, if you have the Soundbar coming on when the TV turns on, you might lose that facility, and have to turn it on seperately.

i have the same soundbar and the same problem, when i switch my soundbar to optical output it immediately goes back to eArc.

The solution:
I have now connected my soundbar via WIFI and it works.
This is one of the many problems with this soundbar that LG is not willing to solve.

So I spoke with an LG tech as he visited my house last week. This is in fact the design for eARC only. It has an ovveride. The idiotic thing about this is that NOTHING is mentioned in any documentation anywhere, and phone support has no knoweldge either.

When I power off the sound bar, it will switch to the optical and play normally. This is not a deal breaker, just an an annoyance. But the latter are starting to pile up.

Since the Web OS update last week, the line on the Home Screen with all my apps has changed.  Now Apps is the first one in the line.  I do not want it there, but cannot move it.  If I go to the end where it shows Edit Apps, I can click on any app to move it or delete it.  But, the Apps icon is grayed out and cannot be moved.  My neighbor has the exact same model I do -- LG OLED 653PUA -- and it is not like that on his tv.  He can move the App icon anywhere he wants.  This is very annoying as it defaults to the Apps icon when I click on Home and then I need to click to get to YouTube TV, which until the update was always first in the line.

I can't connect  my LG ThinQ app to Google Home app.
When I try I'm 'told' that no compatible appliance is found.
But my tv, the LG Web OS TV  UM7100PLB ( 2019 ), is in the LG ThinQ app. I even reinstalled it.
This probably is not a new subject, but, if this question has ever been answered, I can't find a solution.
Is my TV too old ?

As above! All4 & My5 will no longer work. Also, how do you update the browser? My LG nano TV is just over 3 years old.

I had an issue with powering on the tv in which pressing the lg power button on the first ocassion did not turn on my Oled C1 77 inch Tv.
LG replaced the powerboard, however since the replacement I have an issue with intermittent audio dropouts via earc.
EARC has functioned previously on my Tv when connected to an Anthem 710 receiver and for a few months now on an Anthem AVM 70.
The set up has remained the same in terms of audio settings, passthough, match screen and sound set to bypass and I have tried multiple cables, switching the tv off, resetting earc, but I still have the issue.

It is very odd that after a replacement power board I have this issue. It almost seems like a comparability issue between the new board and the existing components or something else is wrong with the TV.
      Any ideas?
