Headphones and Bluetooth do not agree

hans peter

Question

Previously, my TV (LG32LM6300PLA) worked so that when I turned Power on in my headphones, I got the message Pairing followed by Connected. At the same time I got a button on the screen named Connected (so far I remember)  and when I clicked OK on it with my remote control I got rthe sound in my headphones and it disappeard in the TV-set. When I shut off the power in my headphones the sound disappears in them and is back in the TV-set.

Remaining at Settings the soundshift works, i.e. when I turn on the power on the headphones I get sound in them and when I turn the power off it disappears in them and I have it back in the TV instead. But when I leave Settings for watching TV this setting  disappears.

What am I doing wrong ?

The answer to my question:

1) Press Gear on the remote control
2) Move to three dots  "All settings"
3) Press OK
4) Move to Sound
5) Press OK
6) Move to Sound out
7) Press OK
8)Turn on the power in the headphones
9) Move to Device selection
10) Press OK
11) Highlight the found headphone
12) Leave settings

Now, when you turn on the power in the headphones, the sound will be there, but not in the TV. If you turn off the power in the headphones, the sound is no longer there, but only in the TV.

I have a similar problem with my LG 27LQ600S-W. LG omitted a 3.5 headphone jack on this model and the TV speakers are really poor, I mean really, really poor. They sound like a tinney1960s transistor radio. I have a nice set of Phillips powered PC speakers that I used on the TV I replaced with the new LG. To work around the "no 3.5 jack" problem, I bought an optical to analog converter with a 3.5 jack. When powering the TV on, I have to go to settings>sound out opptical>select device>and then select the ID of the converter, confirming "yes".

Every time I power on the TV, I have to go through this tedious ritual. I can't make the choice "stick". Will a Bluetooth adaptor with a 3.5 jack maintain the choice when powering up the TV?

Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks

Hi Packard8!

In this tech world, it's mostly about trial and error. That's how I solved my problem. It sounds like your proposal with the bluetooth adapter could lead to success. I can't give you any other advice.

Thanks Hans Peter, I'll try the BT to 3.5 route. I'm disappointed that LG would not provide a 3.5 headphone jock on an expensive TV, and such inferior built in speakers. My LG 65" OLED set has excellent sound right out of the box. My old cheap Visio had one.

      Hi,
I have a OLED77C34LA and a pair Bose QC32 II headphones and I have trouble connecting to the tv.
First the headphones works good on my other three devices but the TV has trouble, when I manage to connect they work perfect but when I turn the off on on again the headphones will say they are connected to the TV but the TV most of the time won't give me an option to connect and I remember I got a popup asking if I wanted the use the headphones as output but only for like 3-4 times so far.
Usually I have to plug the power out of the TV for a while and remove the bluetooth device but and it doesn't always work. It's not great spending like 15min to get the headphones to work.
Any ideas what could be wrong?

I'm hard of hearing, and even with hearing aids I have to turn the volume so high that it deafens everyone else.
It would make my life easier if I could listen on headphones while everyone else listens to the speaker.

55UJ651V After a few minutes, the Bluetooth clicks and disconnects. Sometimes it then re-starts the tv into the on mode, with nothing selected. It will not find the bluetooth device again. Unless, I try a different Blutooth device and then it does the same thing all over again. Is there any answer to this - or does the module need replacing. There seems to be a lot of discussion online regarding Bluetooth issues with LG. I have hearing issues and must use headphones! This is impossible!

i currently have a LG oled55cx tv which has not got an audio out setting for bluetooth headphones + internal at the same time. the nearest option is bluetooth surround + internal but the sound on the headphones is very poor and distorted. i'm currently having to run a wire to my headphones if my wife is watching tv as well. are there any other brands or ranges out there which has a bluetooth headphone + internal sound out option. thanks.

I have tried to use my wireless headphones in conjunction with my external speakers so I can hear the sound at a different level to others.
I can get it to work but not properly because my soundbar is connected via HDMI simplink (Sonos Beam).
When I turn simplink off the Bluetooth speakers work great but no sound from TV Speakers or soundbar even if I pick multiple speakers the sound only comes out of the headphones.
      Is there anyway around this?
