Bluetooth headphones won't connect

Question

Posted

Hi,

I have a OLED77C34LA and a pair Bose QC32 II headphones and I have trouble connecting to the tv.

First the headphones works good on my other three devices but the TV has trouble, when I manage to connect they work perfect but when I turn the off on on again the headphones will say they are connected to the TV but the TV most of the time won't give me an option to connect and I remember I got a popup asking if I wanted the use the headphones as output but only for like 3-4 times so far.

Usually I have to plug the power out of the TV for a while and remove the bluetooth device but and it doesn't always work. It's not great spending like 15min to get the headphones to work.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

From my personal experience with Bluetooth devices in general: it may be a matter of Pairing, not to be confused with Connecting.

In a metaphor that has just come to me: being Connected is being together, being Paired is wearing the other's wedding ring. (Note that Bluetooth has a master/slave-architecture. Headphones can be a slave to one master only.)

Me, I have quite some Bluetooth audio devices, due to the problem that you describe. If possible, I keep headphones Paired with master devices, whether Connected or not. If I know that I may Connect these headphones to other masters, I Unpair them before Disconnecting.

Unpairing may be a matter of pressing the Bluetooth button on the slave device for a "long" time. That's my trial and error.

Hope This Helps...

I have the same problem. My Sony headset worked to pair before the update but after that I have to unplug the TV, then it will work. Until the next time... Kinda frustrating.

Tried to unpair and pair but same problem.

In my base, I have a LG OLED C2 65" 2023 version.  I have hooked up the TV ARC to a SONOS ARC soundbar, and I can't successful use any (brand) BT headphone..  I could "pair" the BT headphones, and the menu said that the device is "connected", but as soon as you start play the content, it automatically switch back to the SONOS ARC..
So I did a bit of trouble shooting, and if I were to disconnect the SONOS ARC from the TV, then the BT headphone works perfect on the same media context (e.g. movie/netflix etc).  So there is a "priority" somehow made in the webOS to always use the TV ARC if it is "hooked" up, over any "connected/paired" devices...
Kinda of wired way to force user for this setup, UNLESS there is a hidden option somewhere in the menu that I did not know...  Anyone has any clue on this "hidden option" (if it exists)?

I've just purchased an OLED48 C44 LA which comes with a US 60T soundbar. I've connected the soundbar to the HDMI earc socket. Because my hearing isn't too good I'd like to also have some heaphones plugged into the 3.5mm socket so that both the hdmi earc and 3.5mm socket have sound simultaneously. I've been into accessablity menu and the listen together option doesn't appear to offer both hdmiearc and 3.5 mm simultaneously. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
just to be clear, There is a setting which permits TV speakers plus wired external headphones. I just haven't found a setting which allows HDMI earc soundbar plus wired headphones.

I output the sound from my LG 75UJ657A to external speakers through a bluetooth connection, but it doesn't automatically connect to the bluetooth device when I turn the TV on. Whenever I cycle the TV off and, then, back on, the TV asks if I want to connect to the bluetooth device, and I have to select "yes" with the remote. My smart phone automatically connects to all the bluetooth devices I've set it up with. When I start my car, my phone connects automatically to the car stereo/phone system, and it does the same with other bluetooth speakers I have. This is what I want my TV to do.
How do I get my LG 75UJ657A to automatically connect to the bluetooth device I've set up with it?

We have two LG TV's that stopped connecting to our PLEX media server after the last update. TImes out saying "Checking connection speed to Raspberrypi" which the PLEX is on
Upgraded the Mesh Routers before trying anything, still only the PLEX app doesn't work
Our other TCL TV and Roku and TIVO still work with Plex, so this is only the LG TV's that can't connect anymore.
Another annoying error after the last update is that any Streaming app (Amazon, Netflix, and DIsney) now fall out of the app and go back to HDMI port 1 if we pause for 30 seconds.  Which we have always done for a Bathroom break or getting drinks.

      Hello,
      I have a new C4 TV.
Here is the problem I am facing, as well as a suggestion for improvement.

When you have an acoustic deficiency, it is much easier to use a headset (via bluetooth).
But the only current option is to switch the sound to the internal speakers when you activate the bluetooth.
It is still a shame to penalize other people who watch TV by no longer allowing the use of a good sound installation that you have (sound bar, ...) because a person needs an acoustic aid.
Would it be possible to add this combination (optical output + bluetooth) to satisfy everyone?
I add that I tried to place an optical splitter to combine the 2, however, there is a bug apparently because as soon as you turn off the headset, there is a white rectangle which probably indicates an error that appears very briefly but every few seconds, which makes TV viewing impossible.
      Thanks for the follow-up

I have an LG C2 OLED TV. I have noticed that whenever I connect any player (Bluray or Set-top box) through HDMI and watch DV content with Bluetooth earbuds/headphones connected to the TV, the video's DV metadata is out of sync and causes delayed brightness change at every scene cut. In addition to that, I also see this weird outline for any moving objects in the scene as well.
This issue doesn't happen if I watch the DV content directly through the Webos player itself and I have watched a lot of stuff that way. The issue also doesn't happen if I watch standard HDR10 stuff through an HDMI player. It is only weirdly specific to the scenario where the DV content is played through an external player through HDMI and a Bluetooth audio device is connected to the TV. The issue again doesn't happen in the case of DV content playing through HDMI without any Bluetooth device connected to the TV.
It would be great if someone could confirm this is the case with their TV as well, and if anyone has any idea on why this is happening and what can be done to fix it.
