I have a LG CX 55 2023 TV and like it. I use it for work, and the dimming-after-1-minite feature is super frustrating. So I used the instructions here (
link hidden, please login to view) to turn off TPC, GSR and scrolling. It worked well and I was happy. But when the TV turns on a few hours, I've got an ugly window saying "Factory Mode: Press INSTOP to go to User Mode. Press Green Key 7 times to go to User Mode (user remote control.)
I hate this menu, and I hate having the ability to turn off zoom on a TV I'm using for work or youtube. Can anyone help me solve this issue and get rid of the monitor? I have another LG TV purchase on hold while I determine if there's a way to do this to my satisfaction or not. If they really have messed up LG TVs by making no way to turn off the dimming, I will also find a way to return my current TV to Costco despite having used it for six months.
When I tried this before, I learned that the INSTOP button will do a complete factory reset. This is NOT what I want, unless I really have no way to turn off the dimming. In which case I will cancel my other LG monitor purchase and make other plans.

      Since CEO William Cho
link hidden, please login to view of becoming a ‘Smart Life Solutions’ company, LG has made significant changes to various parts of its business and expanded new areas. To celebrate one year since this bold move, the company has launched an advertising campaign showcasing the remarkable progress it has made so far.
Titled ‘Connecting Spaces and Future,’ the campaign highlights this vision and demonstrates a strong dedication to innovation, aiming to strengthen its reputation as a leading innovator across various sectors. The campaign features videos showcasing LG’s ongoing transformation into a ‘Smart Life Solutions’ company through an ever-evolving product portfolio. Starting July 27, three videos will be released focusing on its mobility solutions, air solutions and more.
This marks the first LG video campaign to focus on the company as a whole since ‘Digitally Yours’ in 2000. The new video content seeks to underscore LG’s mobility solutions and the unique experiences they offer, as well as AI smart home solutions that provide personalized environments, webOS solutions that connect various devices on a single platform, and the core technologies including HVAC solutions that will drive future industries.

The mobility solutions video illustrates LG’s efforts to expand home experiences onto the road and deliver unique customer experiences based on three main themes: Transformable, Explorable and Relaxable. It also features the company’s emerging electric vehicle (EV) charging business. The video on its air solutions highlights excellent HVAC technology, including chillers and heat pumps, and a commitment to innovating global solutions that enhance customers’ lives in every space, from residential to commercial.
This event is in line with LG’s desire to showcase its innovative efforts beyond the home appliance space. By highlighting other categories and sectors it pioneers, LG aims to resonate with younger audiences and establish a youthful, dynamic brand image.

On the first anniversary of the announcement of its ‘Smart Life Solutions’ transformation, LG is expanding its achievements across three new pillars of growth: accelerating B2B (including vehicle components and HVAC), pursuing platform-based services (subscriptions, webOS-based advertising and content, etc.) and exploring new business areas such as EV charging.

Notably, after surpassing KRW 10 trillion in sales last year, LG’s vehicle components business carried on in the same form this year by achieving a record-high performance in the second quarter. The company’s commercial HVAC business, which is also growing rapidly, is further diversifying its business portfolio. LG is continuously leveraging its globally competitive HVAC solutions across the entire value chain, from products, technology, production and services, while actively targeting backend industries supporting AI infrastructure, such as data centers.

Starting this year, LG launched its , integrating AI and digital transformation with the company’s manufacturing and production data. This business undertakes production consulting, develops production methods, equipment and operation systems, and trains production technology personnel. Furthermore, the company expects to secure orders worth approximately KRW 300 billion in supplying smart factory solutions to business clients. Meanwhile, the company is actively expanding its webOS-based advertising and content business from TVs to automotive infotainment, with sales set to exceed KRW 1 trillion this year.

LG is accelerating its shift from a traditional product-centric business model to a recurring model that continuously generates revenue through intangible, non-hardware businesses such as subscriptions, content and services.
Stay tuned to to discover LG’s vision in greater detail and get the latest updates on the company’s ongoing transformation into a Smart Life Solutions company.

LG Electronics, the Most Reliable Line of Home Appliances in the United States

SEOUL, August 13, 2024 — LG Electronics (LG) is set to launch its episodic original series, Estate of Survival, on Prime Video via Prime Video Direct in nine countries, including the U.S., Canada, Argentina and Chile1 as well as LG Channels.
This brand-new series, which features six exciting episodes, follows the residents of the Estate of Survival mansion as they compete against each other in a variety of challenging missions. By completing these missions, contestants earn home appliances and other items to furnish the spacious abode and, just as importantly, avoid elimination. The last resident standing wins the Estate of Survival ultimate prize: USD $100,000.
In Estate of Survival, contestants compete to acquire household goods, including LG ThinQ-enabled appliances. LG’s appliances are designed to provide exceptional customer experiences and deliver the next-level convenience of the company’s smart lifestyle vision – the Zero Labor Home. Trusted by consumers worldwide, LG has been named the most reliable appliance brand in the U.S. by a leading consumer publication.2
“An engaging and highly-entertaining new reality competition show with a unique premise, Estate of Survival is the ideal platform for showcasing the latest lifestyle innovations from LG, America’s most reliable line of home appliances,” said Lyu Jae-cheol, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company.
The new series will introduce viewers to a wide range of sophisticated LG home appliances, including the InstaView refrigerator with LG’s exclusive Craft Ice (slow -melting, round ice), the wall oven and induction cooktop range featuring the Scan-to-Cook function, the Smart Top Control Dishwasher with 1-Hour Wash & Dry, QuadWash® Pro, TrueSteam® and Dynamic Heat Dry, the CordZero stick vacuum and the PuriCare air purifier.
Once appliances are installed, contestants enjoy a multitude of time-saving benefits, from washing and drying a load of laundry in under two hours with the LG WashCombo All-in-One laundry solution, to faster cooking and clean up with LG ovens’ Scan-to-Cook and EasyClean features. Scan-to-Cook allows users to send the optimal cooking settings for select frozen meals straight to the oven simply by scanning the barcode on the product packaging.
Always seeking new ways to make the home appliance customer experience even better, LG developed ThinQ Care, which provides helpful alerts to prevent incorrect appliance usage and smart diagnosis to reduce the need for costly and inconvenient service technician visits.
The first two episodes of Estate of Survival will arrive on Prime Video via Prime Video Direct in the U.S. on August 12 and in several other countries soon after. LG TV owners will be able to enjoy the series for free on-demand via LG Channels – the company’s free, premium streaming service – in more than 9 countries, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Australia.3
The series will also stream on LG Channels Showcase (Channel #999), LG’s first curated channel featuring fan-favorite movies and LG exclusives. Two episodes will premiere back-to-back weekly on Monday nights, starting Monday, August 12 at 8pm EST.
