0 Alex
Its up in the air right now until they get released. I would imagine only new tvs. This is not official word, since we are not LG, just a webos entusiast forum. I'm waiting as is everyone else! 0 SilentLexx
I have 42LA620V and recived today a message: "AN IMPORTANT UPDATE IS AVAILABLE FOR YOUR TV LG works hard to ensure that the features and technology on your Smart TV are up-to-date. An important update to the Terms & Conditions and options will soon become available for your TV after the end of February in 2014.Please see the FAQ at [www.lgappstv.com] for more information. We encourage you to take the easy steps to update your TV when notified: Go to your Settings menu, select Support, then Software Update." May be it's update to WebOS ?!
0 needz
The same message appeared on 42LM760T (2012), so don't expect anything like that I think it's just updated terms and agreement.

Why not? Hardware 2012's and 2013's very similar.
0 needz
Similarly incapable of running WebOS, yes
0 SilentLexx
Similarly incapable of running WebOS, yes I have a friend from LG QA, he tested WebOS on "unknown" hardware... It' hardware looked like a 6-series of 2013 year (I seen photo)... But he says what update for older TV he don't tested and nothing heard about that
0 SilentLexx
I found a photo. I was wrong, it's not look like a 6th series:
0 SilentLexx
IMHO: But if LG wants to sell more apps, it must ported new platform to old devices
0 needz
The apps will be more or less compatible, because it's just Javascript+HTML.. as it's now.

All TVs are similar in appearance but they are running different OS. webOS is linux-based operanting system, I would like to think that ours TVs can run this OS but... that means to reinstall the system!
