Problem launching Netflix - 49UB850V

Question

Posted

Hi there,

I wonder if anybody can help I've just purchased an LG

link hidden, please login to view
and I'm not able to launch Netflix when I do this is says "Software Update, Software update is required to use app..."

I click "OK" and then the "Update" button is greyed out and I can not set it.

Says version 1.2.20, updated 15.05.2014, but it will not allow me to update it. The only option I have is the cross in the top right.

I've tried resetting from the main menu, launching from the prem LG store.

All of the other Apps launch and I can play contact easily after doing the initial app update.

Anybody on here heard of this issue? Am I missing something?

Been trying to hours!

Thanks for any help in advance!

Sorry - tried doing a TV update from the settings menu and says does not need an update.

Showing software version "03.13.25"

WebOS TV Version "1.1.0-6125"

Thanks

It's been discussed here. Apparently LG have admitted there's an issue and have supposedly implicated Netflix issues? Anyway, it's supposed to be resolved by the end of the month.

Strange it working for some and not others. I don't think u can uninstall netflix and redo either it like you can other apps from the store. Hope you get it sorted

My LG 49UB850V LED TV  browser is too old. The most of the pages not work any more. How to easy update just one simple browser app? For example, often browser show error during open new page. It show certificate expire problem and page not load at all.
This mean LG sell product without update at least browser certificate and now we are stuck and can not even load one page from WWW.

Shame on you LG. I will not buy any more from you.  How dificolt is to release new update to update OS certificates? Microsoft Windows did this, android did also for old phones, etc... Really, can not undestend this asian people from Korea.

I am using LG WebOS 05.40.20 version. IPTV applications do not show subtitles. Is there any player that can play subtitles?

I have a 48" OLED (Model: OLED48A26LA).  after updating to software version 13.30.61 the Sky New Live feed just displays "There was a problem with this video [timeout]".  It worked perfectly before the TV software upgrade.
Ive reinstalled the Sky News app but still doesnt work.  wifi etc is all ok.
      Any ideas?

      Hello,
I have a problem with the subtitles when I try to share a video wirelessly directly from my PC to my LG 55SM9010PLA TV. I am not talking about sharing the whole screen (it lags a bit), just the video itself.
Sharing the video itself works well, but randomly the TV randomly does not recognise the subtitle, the sub option is not active in the TV menu, and there are no subtitles. It is in the same folder on my PC as the movie (.mkv), with the same name. In case of some movies it works, in case of others not, and I do not see the reasons why.
First I tought it is becouse the format of the subtitle needs to be ".sub", becouse it worked with one movie. So I have learnt how to convert properly ".srt" to ".sub" - but still no success.
Then I realised, in the case of another movie ".srt" worked on the TV, so I got really confused.
I see no logic behind it.  Could you help me, what is the key here, what am I missing?
      Thank you!
