I bought a new webos lg tv. I like the style, integration and simplicity of it. Only I miss one feature that I would expect on a new smart TV and that is a picture-in-picture (pip) feature. I understand that's a new platform for tv and some features are still new or in development.

I hope this feature would be on an future update. Could we make a request on the development team of LG?

And it would also be nice to have a small TV screen on web browser which you can turn on/off and move around, it was a feature on the old OS, before webos

I think PIP feature will never be available due to hardware limitations. As far as I know for the PIP function to work 2 tuners are required.

The only think that can be possible is to have PIP from 2 different sources (e.g. one HDMI and one TV-cable).

Right all samsung tv has PIP from tv on HDMI mode (even the low end 32F4300 has PIP), very useful when your are on PC mode.

7 years ago bought a LG plasma that had PIP (very good tv), and after that I've just bought samsung, now wanted to try again with LG, but I find that it has lost much rather than improved.

For now WebOS is a very poor piece of software

That is the whole point, to use PIP with TV tuner and different source. I have external HDTV tuner and 3 other devices with which I would like to use PIP. I had it with my 6 years old Sony TV and it worked great. So, PIP is a great feature for all TVs

Yes, very useful feature and I hope that WebOS will develop fast so we can have new features and apps

WebOS is soooo bad choice, I really regretful after buying it? there's no record from HDMI, there's no PIP, there's no sync sound to smartphones, there's no apps, just a few that are weak. any plans to update ?

Has anyone heard any more on this topic. We just bought a LG tv and are very disappointed about not being able to keep watching tv with using the web browser. What is the point otherwise? I have to just go and get my laptop.

Go and return your TV if you still can. I have bought LG 3 months ago and there hasn't been a significant improvement whatsoever. If you've just bought it return that shit and buy yourself a Samsung. It is to late for me sadly but you can still do it! :)

Hello great LG Team/Developers,

My LG 55UB850V is realy nice, but a TV PIP on HDMI mode would be very useful.

I am a software developer and do several things at the "same" time on the TV... like work, play games, just surfing on the internet (for work and/or private), or move files from one directory to another :D.

Videostream is nice but uncomfortable. So I hope you try to add this feature.

Best regards from germany :)

I think PiP would be a good feature! However, I want WebOS to stay easy and simple to use.

The question is: can it be added in a way that's easy to manage?  I think it might work.

Yeah, I thought PiP was standard so I'm utterly disappointed in LG for being so stuck-up and arrogant for not including this feature in the software/hardware. It's 2018 already.....see if I ever buy a single LG item ever again! Nope, not I. I've been a long-time consumer of LG products but not anymore. I hope more people read these articles before spending another dime on LG products.

Just chatted with rep. Only on OLED TVs. Not reg smart TVs. He said pip is a premium feature. Like LG pip has been out fit well over 10 yrs. it’s not premium you’re taking advantage of gamers and such with only having this on TVs that are 1k+

We are able to EDIT some of the functions that are in the initial SETTINGS screen.  However other functions that are layers deep into the settings are unable to be dragged/dropped into that EDIT function. Like ASPECT RATIO. To get to that feature requires a long list of clicking things. It is a function that we use a LOT in order to prevent screen burn-in on these OLED screens. (to be able to watch a channel for extended period of time that happens to have that stupid LOGO or "crawl" along the bottom. Like CNN or MSNBC).

i just started using a new LG 43UR7550 (cheapest model from them).......1st time using a LG as well as a Smart TV too.......and so far having a hard time adjusting the picture and sound (never had such problems with previous TVs)😒

      1) sound is worse than i thought since the speakers are down-firing (my previous TV had front-firing speakers)...........it has the AI Sound Tuning - so after it had tuned the sound - do i set the Sound Mode to ''AI'' or should i use ''Custom Settings'' to use the equalizer ??😬

      2) the TV has many different settings like Noise Reduction, TruMotion, etc.......so how to calibrate for best picture since i read that people say it's best to turn them all off ?😬

      3) i can turn off the screen when watching free-to-air broadcast channels.........but can i turn off the screen if i'm using Youtube app on the TV..........?..........what if i use a HDMI cable from my PC to the TV - can i turn off the screen ?🤒

      many thanks in advance😃

      Hi to all.
I recently purchased a lg tv with web os. On the old TV was using an external media player (wd live tv). Now I wanted to directly connect the USB disk to the TV.
Unfortunately, I can not do it, because, to my regret, the web os does not have a file manager So I can not copy, move, or do anything on the external drive, no do not connect it to the PC first.
I ask is you are putting a file manager, so you can manage files between USB devices connected.
In addition to, if possible, add an icon to each file (movie) already seen.

Hey everyone, I've been using my LG WebOS TV for some time now, and there's a small but impactful change I'd love to see. Currently, when the TV is turned on without an HDMI input, it defaults to displaying a wallpaper. It's not aesthetically pleasing, it's a bit of an inconvenience for users like me who primarily use the TV's smart features. My suggestion is to include an option that allows the TV to boot directly into the Home screen, displaying all the available apps and streaming options right away. This would streamline the user experience, making it faster and easier to access the services we use most.Would love to hear the community's thoughts on this. Cheers!
