I have tried  500 GB and 2 TB USB HD but TV is unable to detect it. One HD detected after keeping it connected to TV for 15/20 minuits. But normally TV is unable to detect hard disk. Do you know the specifications needed? Yes I tried to contract them they just said that it is wierd and that it should have worked! I was going to try with another hhd but currently I don't have another one in hand!

Sorry I do not, I assumed it was specified in the owner's manual? Does the HDD run on a separate powersource or power from the UBS itself? Is it USB2/USB3?

Maybe try a different USB cable? I have had hardware in the past that worked like a charm with 1 cable and very shaky with another...

To use the Time Machine do the following steps:

1. Make sure that your HDD is formated in NTFS

2. Connect the HDD to the TV using USB1

3. Go to Time Machine tile

4. In settings, check the Live play feature and check the HDD you want to use.

5. return to the TV channel and see if the grey bar that progressively turns pink appears. Also see if on the bottom right side you have a clock and an x signal.

There you go. It should work now. I have an USB3 Seagate Go Flex HDD with 500GB capacity.

Problem can create a HDD with a very long cord or if it requires special drivers and startup programs.

Suffice it to disk is formatted as FAT32 or NTFS.

No need to remove other records from HDD. TV created in the root directory of the disk folder lg_dvr. Recording video format is MPEG 2 and is encrypted.

Hi All,
If your HDD's format is NTFS than no need to format. I had the issue with my 1tb WD My Passport and the issue was it is password protected.
Also check that your HDD should not auto run any application(.exe) while connecting, if it is then it will not be detected by TV

How can I check that?

My UH6107 doesn't recognize a WD Passport 1TB or a 2.5" 500 GB in a Thermaltake Rack

Simply connect your HDD to computer. If it run any application (i.e. WD Unlocker) then disable it or remove it.
It may be possible that there is a virus in your HDD and it is running automatically while you are connecting to any device. So it is better that you scan it.

Some time it takes lots of time to detect. It is totally depending of number of files present in your HDD.
One more things to remember is that file system of the HDD must be NTFS

If this doesn't work than backup your data and format your HDD and try again without any data.

Hope this helps

Finally, it worked.

I simply formated (long format) my 500 GB HDD and then the TV saw it from the first try. Don't know why it couldn't see it in the past but I'm happy it works now.

Thank for your reply

      Hello,
I need help, I bought LG Oled 65 C41 LA tv two days ago, tv is working mostly fine, except when I watch LG installed streaming platforms ( Netflix and MAX tested ) tv freezes and after about 10 seconds it restarts. It does not have any pattern as far as I know, sometimes I can watch 20 mins, last two times after six minutes it crashed and restarted automatically. Can someone please help me, how can I resolve this issue? Did someone had sam problems already? Is my tv broken or I can do something to fix it?

      Hello,
I have purchased a new TV and I'm unable to login to the LG account. Whenever i try i get the error saying : The lg services country information could not be retrieved from the server. Image is attached !
I have registered the TV online on lg.com I tried resetting and rebooting the TV I tried the LG customer service which is pathetic and they just asked to exchange the TV with the retailer ( I don't know what customer service is smoking, if people start replacing TV for every software issue, it will be the end for LG Business)  What else can be done?

      Thanks,
      Tushar

      Hello,
I have a problem with the subtitles when I try to share a video wirelessly directly from my PC to my LG 55SM9010PLA TV. I am not talking about sharing the whole screen (it lags a bit), just the video itself.
Sharing the video itself works well, but randomly the TV randomly does not recognise the subtitle, the sub option is not active in the TV menu, and there are no subtitles. It is in the same folder on my PC as the movie (.mkv), with the same name. In case of some movies it works, in case of others not, and I do not see the reasons why.
First I tought it is becouse the format of the subtitle needs to be ".sub", becouse it worked with one movie. So I have learnt how to convert properly ".srt" to ".sub" - but still no success.
Then I realised, in the case of another movie ".srt" worked on the TV, so I got really confused.
I see no logic behind it.  Could you help me, what is the key here, what am I missing?
      Thank you!
