In Russian use Google translate, also the new features described there.

Also there is 2.o beta for 4K ultra hd.

The forum even translating it's very messy!

Anybody tried install?

I have installed on my 42LB650V and everything is working properly. All menus works much faster and smoother than in all previous versions. Finally, after many earlier updates, webOS in my LG became useful. Do not install 4.65.50 or older, it does not make sense. 05.10.01 is the one for which we waited for so long. Just install it and have fun with your LG.  ;)

Might not risk the usb update just yet. I'll wait to download from tv

It's very simple and safe Jon, don't be afraid. Just make LG_DTV folder in memory stick, put firmware file in folder and connect USB stick to TV. Your TV will automatically detect updates, now accept it and wait a few minutes. Restart TV and that's all. Installation progress can be tracked in General > About TV.

What is that for an App?

Posted

I just updated to 05.10.1. This firmware is the best so far. Much faster channel change the DVB-C, quick menu is really quick menu. Advanced menu is still slow, but a lot faster than before. Live menu can now be used and looks very nice. Until now it was too slow and disorganized. It is especially good option My program, especially when you have over 250 channels, like me. Image of DVB-C is a bit better than before. Very quickly display images when the TV is turned on or when she returns from some applications. Input has also been improved, and very fast. Teletext is loaded immediately.

Thanks Simon. I have updated to 5.10.01 and it is just as "tehnicki" described. They removed graphics from quick menu and input menu, put channel info on top, I did not try other things so far. I so hope Logitech keyboard has full support in Youtube app

Factory reset is needed after firmware upgrade..

I've upgraded to 5.01.10 on my 50LB470V and there is noticeable improvement in overall performance. I didn't have too much time to test it yesterday but I've noticed one new problem and one I had on all previous versions.

New one is subtitles not displaying on DVB-C channels. When I tune to a channel with subtitles there is an icon in channel info informing that subtitles are available and an option in Advanced setup menu to select it but nothing happens when I do it. After entering subtitle menu again it is resets to None again. I guess user "tehnicki" is having same 250 DVB-C channels as me (b-net? :)) so some input would be appreciated.

Second problem (which was also present in FW 04.xx.xx) is Time setting. When set to Automatic TV detects my Time zone and location correctly but time is 1h behind. If I put it on Manual I can set the correct time but then EPG is wrong showing shows 1h ahead. I did find a workaround tho. I set it on manual, choose custom Zone, set GMT+1, and then click on Automatic. For some reason everything is correct then.

Anyway, 05 beta is definitely an improvement over any 04 FW, it just need some testing and polishing.

Did you enable subttitle on Accessibility, and did you choose location Croatia?

I have lots of channels with multiple Title. I can change my default Serbian subtitle on Subtitle button on my remote control

I never used "normal" remote, only "smart" one which doesn't have Subtitle button. After putting batteries in basic remote and hitting Subtitle button subtitles are showing and and can cycle if multiple subtitles are available. Thanks for the tip. I also never opened Accessibility menu before so I guess "Subtitles ON" was either ON by default in older FW versions or was automaticly activated when Subtitle language was choosen from Programmes menu.

I need to test Multimedia player to see if anything is broken. Too bad TV still doesn't support Samba shares or movie scrapers.

On our LG G1 OLED, when watching a program on Binge, the Binge app restarts itself every 20 minutes or so with a message about needing to restart to free up memory. Power-cycling the TV doesn't fix the problem, nor does running the "Memory Optimiser" function from system settings. None of the other streaming service apps we have on the TV have this problem - Prime Video, Stan, Netflix, Disney+, Britbox, ABC iView, SBS On Demand, Youtube. Those are the only other apps installed on the TV. I've checked the LG WebOS version and checked for app updates, and everything is latest version.
If I run the Binge Android app on my Chromecast with Google TV, it works without any problems when streaming the same programs.

In fact, Spotify doesn't offer its service to LG webOS Smartwatch now. If you want to listen to Spotify songs on LG webOS Smartwatch, you'd need a

Samsung has made fridges with touchscreens before. LG has made fridges with doors that turn transparent to show you the inside. This year at CES 2018, those two ideas are finally merging into one with LG’s new InstaView ThinQ smart refrigerator, which features a 29-inch touchscreen that becomes transparent if users knock on it twice.
LG actually tried this two years ago, with a version called the Smart InstaView Door-in-Door that ran a full version of Windows 10, but it’s not clear that the company ever shipped the Windows version.
This version uses the touchscreen to manage your food using LG’s webOS software and Amazon’s Alexa, which will let you tag food with virtual stickers and expiration dates and get automatic reminders when things are running low or about to go bad. There’s also a wide-angle panoramic camera on the inside of the fridge that will let you remotely view your fridge while you’re out and about to check and see if you’re actually out of milk or not.

Unfortunately, the only image that LG has shared showing the fridge is a low-resolution shot on its YouTube page banner, but it seems that you’ll be able to still use the screen while it’s translucent, allowing you to tag food directly in a vaguely augmented reality-esque move.
LG is also touting how all of its ThinQ kitchen gadgets can talk to each other to make kitchen tasks easier. So your ThinQ fridge can talk to your EasyClean oven, which will help you cook food through step-by-step instructions from the recipe app from your fridge. Then, your EasyClean oven can notify your QuadWash dishwasher about the kind of meal you cooked, so it can more efficiently select a wash cycle for that dish. Of course, all this requires spending thousands of dollars replacing every appliance in your kitchen (and if this all works as well as LG claims it does), but it’s still an intriguing vision of a Jetsons-like future utopia.
No price or release date for the InstaView ThinQ refrigerator or any of LG’s other new appliances have yet been announced.
