TV 42LB731V-ZE

No auto update / manually updated from 04.65.05 to 05.00.04.

Afro-Ashley 1.4.0-2504

Location set to UK (TV is actually in Spain)

Lets see what happens from here.

Firmware looks same as the beta 05.10.02 I installed a week or so ago.

I've just downgraded as well luckily I left the LG updater file on the PC. Just a shame I liked the speed of the new firmware and I was hoping the issues would have been solved, I use the simplink for Raspberry Pi control.

Until the next update if any. Maybe if we all contact LG they may listen, we can but hope.

Cheers Jon

Would/could a kind person please supply me/us with the instructions on how to downgrade. Have tried various links to russian forums but seems very complicated. It would be great if someone who has gone from 5.10.02 to version 4.xx.xx could provide a step by step guide. i am quite confident with pc's

Many thanks in advance for the kind soul who takes on this for me.

ps i am sure others would love a simple guide also.

Let me see... It looks simple but that was not how I did it, Your way is to downgrade to original firmware 03.23.13 and .epk is located on

link hidden, please login to view
. I had to manually check the update to get file "in_dump" to clarify TV model, later copy and edit empty file for tv model and .epk file location and set force flag to Y to force downgrade. Finally when that was all done the TV accepted the version of .epk I copied. Your way is easier but probably people are having trouble finding the correct file for their TV model, that is why the update is not detected.

Why do you have edited your post... Please, do not write stupidity, it's not true what you said. You don't know, guessing and doing unnecessary confusion. First test it on your TV then talk about it.

Read with understanding. My way is to downgrade to the first firmware TV [#11] not to 03.23.13. People do not have to look any firmware - they can do it if they need to install custom firmware like beta or official from LG support site. If not, after Restart TV [#12]  they can just use Check For Updates option to upgrade firmware by OTA as David Isom did it. Update was not detected because in Updater lacked support for higher TV models and I had to update it. I wrote to you about it, but you come back to this topic to edit your post... And finally and above all - We're here to help each other, not to do confusion and destroy work of other. Don't do it anymore and Stay in Peace.

I have an LG 49UB850V.I had the same update today (5.00.04)and i was happy with it, but after some use the OS restarted itself 2-3 times in 2 hours. After more usage i had these problems: could not change the program after ca 1 hour of watching, no infobar popped, and the "P" switch on the MR500 was also not responding, switched to HDMI 1, but could not switch back to TV, menu was slow as hell, if it worked sometimes. I found the downgrade tutorial, and that helped me(thanx SIMON)and now i'm back at 4.55.55. It's a shame LG put an update like these OTA, do they not test these OS-s before release? I mean i can live with some minor bugs, but a TV that don't change chanels and restarting because of low memory...thats a no-go. An ex-customer

So it looks like this is the big update everyone has been waiting for.

I think It is possible that you are right Shayne. Big update and more problems with it. Nothing new.

It would be interesting  to know the connections and settings people are using who are having memory reboots . ie simplink ARC , HBB TV,wireless , Then others who don't have these problems might be able to compare and help . Also are people resetting after update ?

LG47LB670V

Updated to 5.00.04 from 04.65.05 via Android app.

Region: Macedonia.

It's not faster.

Streaming from my phone gave "needs to close to free some memory" at every 3-rd video clip.

I couldn't even stream a low deffinition video of 300Mb from my PC, it restarts after 30 seconds. Previosely it was closing only on big size movies, above 5Gb.

Shame on you LG

Yes, I've done factory reset even twice because what I was experiencing was bulls$%t.

What do you use for streaming videos?

I use Servioo.

(Sometimes Plex, but it has subtitles issue)

Can you watch a complete full HD movie in size of 6-9Gb?

      Hey guys !!!
I have a UHD UJ634v  LG webos Tv  that lately an error message pops on the screen staying : Tv signal has been lost due to the satellite LNB short.Check LNB connection"
This is really getting on my nerves because I can't get any signal even after resetting the TV or even updating to the last  software version.
I check my cable line and fixed every possible problem. The error message keeps showing up even after disconnecting cable line from the back of TV just as if a short circuit or something has happened inside the Tv.
Do you think that'd be software or hardware failure or something else??? How to fix it?
Please help me out with this cuz all my lovely satellite TV channels are gone 😐
Here is the actual error message on the right top o the screen
      Thanks in advance !!!

This is dumb OS. I should have check before buying it. Please any one has answer to make it fast ?

On our LG G1 OLED, when watching a program on Binge, the Binge app restarts itself every 20 minutes or so with a message about needing to restart to free up memory. Power-cycling the TV doesn't fix the problem, nor does running the "Memory Optimiser" function from system settings. None of the other streaming service apps we have on the TV have this problem - Prime Video, Stan, Netflix, Disney+, Britbox, ABC iView, SBS On Demand, Youtube. Those are the only other apps installed on the TV. I've checked the LG WebOS version and checked for app updates, and everything is latest version.
If I run the Binge Android app on my Chromecast with Google TV, it works without any problems when streaming the same programs.

In fact, Spotify doesn't offer its service to LG webOS Smartwatch now. If you want to listen to Spotify songs on LG webOS Smartwatch, you'd need a
link hidden, please login to view. With Tunelf Spotibeat Music Converter, you can and then transfer them to LG webOS Smartwatch for playing without limits.

Samsung has made fridges with touchscreens before. LG has made fridges with doors that turn transparent to show you the inside. This year at CES 2018, those two ideas are finally merging into one with LG’s new InstaView ThinQ smart refrigerator, which features a 29-inch touchscreen that becomes transparent if users knock on it twice.
LG actually tried this two years ago, with a version called the Smart InstaView Door-in-Door that ran a full version of Windows 10, but it’s not clear that the company ever shipped the Windows version.
This version uses the touchscreen to manage your food using LG’s webOS software and Amazon’s Alexa, which will let you tag food with virtual stickers and expiration dates and get automatic reminders when things are running low or about to go bad. There’s also a wide-angle panoramic camera on the inside of the fridge that will let you remotely view your fridge while you’re out and about to check and see if you’re actually out of milk or not.

Unfortunately, the only image that LG has shared showing the fridge is a low-resolution shot on its YouTube page banner, but it seems that you’ll be able to still use the screen while it’s translucent, allowing you to tag food directly in a vaguely augmented reality-esque move.
LG is also touting how all of its ThinQ kitchen gadgets can talk to each other to make kitchen tasks easier. So your ThinQ fridge can talk to your EasyClean oven, which will help you cook food through step-by-step instructions from the recipe app from your fridge. Then, your EasyClean oven can notify your QuadWash dishwasher about the kind of meal you cooked, so it can more efficiently select a wash cycle for that dish. Of course, all this requires spending thousands of dollars replacing every appliance in your kitchen (and if this all works as well as LG claims it does), but it’s still an intriguing vision of a Jetsons-like future utopia.
No price or release date for the InstaView ThinQ refrigerator or any of LG’s other new appliances have yet been announced.
