So another day on 05.00.35 in Australia - still having the same issues with HDMI ARC/Optical sound out, also still having HDMI pop ups occasionally.

Emailed LG, got told to call them, called, told I'll be called back the next day. Three days later without a call, called back and was told to take it to the closest service centre to have the hardware checked haha. Obviously it's a software issue considering all the people here in the same boat.

I've requested the issue be forwarded to whoever is in charge of the software updates (Korea apparently), I've also submitted a complaint about the lack of service and after sales support.

If anyone can shed more light on manually updating that would be excellent.

LB671V on 5.00.55 is having bugs and odd behavior in general (HDMI, mode switching, volume, many small things) after 4-5 days of using. This is first time that I have bugs since I bought this tv.

Strange, I have no problems whatsoever with this firmware on 47LB671v.

Did you completely turn off (pull power plug for 10 seconds) the TV after upgrading or did a reset?

Test/Beta 05.00.55 "new hope" is out for LB630-LB870, EC930 (Europe)

When you say Europe I suspect this is then for the 55EC930V and doesn't work with the 55EC930T, correct ?

Yes! 55EC930T is Australia/New Zealand model! 55EC930V is Europe model.

Latest firmware for "T" models is 05.00.35 and i do not recommend install europe models firmware, unless if you wish messed-up TV :)

Latest firmware for your model is 05.00.35 and unfortunatelly this is firmware with HDMI/ARC problems. No fix..yet

For Europe models this problem is solved in 05.00.55

Just had a pop up on mine (Australia) saying there's an update available. Didn't click it in time and when I navigate to Check For Updates in the settings it says No Update Available...

Hopefully that means something is in the works at the moment.

LG sells its devices by region and for each region there are applications that differ from other regions. Therefore, it is not advisable to install the firmware from another region. It then makes a problem because the system of broadcasting TV programs is not the same, applications are not the same, so it is very possible that it can totally destroy the TV or to a state that is not working properly..

The safest way is a regular online update..

Otherwise, I do not understand why the LG announced 05.00.40 firmware for LB630-LB870, EC930 Europe models because this firmware has problems with HDMI / ARC

I recommend to all who have not yet installed the problematic .40 firmware to postpone and stay on .15 firmware...and wait next official. Hm, maybe .55 will be the next official  :D

Yes!

latest official is 05.00.40 (i don't recommend install this version because hdmi/arc problems...just skip this version)

latest test/beta is 05.00.55 (europe region) and you can download from this official lg link:

From personal experience, after numerous tests from the first firmware version 3 up to the latest versions of the firmware 05.00.55 I can confirm that there is absolutely NO difference in picture quality. If it is possible to notice a difference image is just better, not worse. The only difference is that version 3 and 4 suffers from the problem of "Out of memory. App is closed." and it was resolved in first 05.xx.xx. Also, all versions 5 are faster, prettier than 3 or 4. LG added some cute options of advanced webos 2.0 in first test/beta 5. Older versions have been slower, applications were considerably slower and suffered from a leak of memory problems..

Are there any betas for the us version of the 42LB6300. I have version 05.00.45 installed a few weeks ago and it's total crap and LG support is absolutely no help. ARC constantly drops out, HDMI notifications pop up on the screen randomly. Why can't basic tv functions work? Never buying LG again.

Official update for this seems to be taking an age , it seems every time I walk in the room my TV has reset itself to TV speakers . I dont know if there has been much difference in picture quality since the early firmware but it does seem the terrestrial tuner has a poorer picture than any other input , but not sure if that has always been that way .

      Hey guys !!!
I have a UHD UJ634v  LG webos Tv  that lately an error message pops on the screen staying : Tv signal has been lost due to the satellite LNB short.Check LNB connection"
This is really getting on my nerves because I can't get any signal even after resetting the TV or even updating to the last  software version.
I check my cable line and fixed every possible problem. The error message keeps showing up even after disconnecting cable line from the back of TV just as if a short circuit or something has happened inside the Tv.
Do you think that'd be software or hardware failure or something else??? How to fix it?
Please help me out with this cuz all my lovely satellite TV channels are gone 😐
Here is the actual error message on the right top o the screen
      Thanks in advance !!!

On our LG G1 OLED, when watching a program on Binge, the Binge app restarts itself every 20 minutes or so with a message about needing to restart to free up memory. Power-cycling the TV doesn't fix the problem, nor does running the "Memory Optimiser" function from system settings. None of the other streaming service apps we have on the TV have this problem - Prime Video, Stan, Netflix, Disney+, Britbox, ABC iView, SBS On Demand, Youtube. Those are the only other apps installed on the TV. I've checked the LG WebOS version and checked for app updates, and everything is latest version.
If I run the Binge Android app on my Chromecast with Google TV, it works without any problems when streaming the same programs.

In fact, Spotify doesn't offer its service to LG webOS Smartwatch now. If you want to listen to Spotify songs on LG webOS Smartwatch, you'd need a

Samsung has made fridges with touchscreens before. LG has made fridges with doors that turn transparent to show you the inside. This year at CES 2018, those two ideas are finally merging into one with LG’s new InstaView ThinQ smart refrigerator, which features a 29-inch touchscreen that becomes transparent if users knock on it twice.
LG actually tried this two years ago, with a version called the Smart InstaView Door-in-Door that ran a full version of Windows 10, but it’s not clear that the company ever shipped the Windows version.
This version uses the touchscreen to manage your food using LG’s webOS software and Amazon’s Alexa, which will let you tag food with virtual stickers and expiration dates and get automatic reminders when things are running low or about to go bad. There’s also a wide-angle panoramic camera on the inside of the fridge that will let you remotely view your fridge while you’re out and about to check and see if you’re actually out of milk or not.

Unfortunately, the only image that LG has shared showing the fridge is a low-resolution shot on its YouTube page banner, but it seems that you’ll be able to still use the screen while it’s translucent, allowing you to tag food directly in a vaguely augmented reality-esque move.
LG is also touting how all of its ThinQ kitchen gadgets can talk to each other to make kitchen tasks easier. So your ThinQ fridge can talk to your EasyClean oven, which will help you cook food through step-by-step instructions from the recipe app from your fridge. Then, your EasyClean oven can notify your QuadWash dishwasher about the kind of meal you cooked, so it can more efficiently select a wash cycle for that dish. Of course, all this requires spending thousands of dollars replacing every appliance in your kitchen (and if this all works as well as LG claims it does), but it’s still an intriguing vision of a Jetsons-like future utopia.
No price or release date for the InstaView ThinQ refrigerator or any of LG’s other new appliances have yet been announced.
