Media Player COLOR LGTV BUG?

Question

Posted

I HAVE A LG 60LB650V WITH FIRMWARE 04.41.32 (I THINK IT HAPPENS WITH ALL LGTV WEBOS TVS)

I´AM TESTING over USB 1 (FULL HD) SOME TESTPATTERN IN CINMEMAMODE.

THE GREEN PATTERN IS NOT CALIBRATED OPTIMAL WITH ALL MODES and YOU CANNOT CALIBRATE IT CORRECTLY:

ON HDMI MODE I DONT SEE AN ERROR WITH GREEN PATTERN.

SECOND BUG?

IF YOU WANT TO TRY TO CALIBRATE, YOU MUST SET COLOR FROM 50 TO 35 AND THAN ITS UNDERCOLORED. TRYING TO CHANGE THE LUMINANCE OF COLORS YOU SEE SQUARES.

TRYING ONLY CHANGING RED LUMINANCE FROM 0 TO 5; YOU SEE AFTER THAT SQUARES ON MKV/MP4 FILES.

(LUMINACE WAS CHANGE BECAUSE OF RED/GREEN/BLUE FILTER FROM TV TO CALIBRATE.)

ON USB MODE YOU SEE OTHER COLORS AS IN HDMI MODE.

Brand new LG OLED 65"G4 has color blotching (or banding), not sure what the official term is. Netflix & Prime especially on any picture setting, and the "vivid" setting on everything. I don't really use vivid anyway but should not be happening. Of course I tried all suggested online and tech supported fixes to no avail. I called LG and after many very frustrating routings to different agents, they refused to send a replacement because their policy says within "30 days of purchase." I pointed out that it was now day 28 and therefore is within your policy, the person stated that by the time they go through the process, it would be over the 30 day limit! I mean, talk about banging your head against a wall! How do you argue with such logic?? After a few more call routings, they connected me with a repair service. The man came out within days and replaced the board (I think that's what it's called) but no dice, the problem remained. He then ordered a new panel which I'm still waiting for. It would have been cheaper for LG to just send a new TV rather than replace a panel and pay a repair man for two house calls. Crazy! I've had 5 LG OLEDs without a problem. This is very upsetting.

I have owned a couple of LG TV’s over the last 8 years, with the current one being a high-end 77” model.
I am still using LG TV SmartShare (v.33) as my “Media Player” v2.3.1511.1201 for my PC– which was last updated in 2015 but it is still compatible today.  As proof, my latest TV is now 11 months old and I have had zero issue (until you see below).
link hidden, please login to view My PC setup is: Windows 10 Pro (with all latest updates) and a TP-Link Archer BE19000 (BE805) router.    NOTHING has been changed on my router, TV (no updated or changed firmware) or any equipment moved around in the last 4 months.
Up until about 3 weeks ago, everything ran just fine.  The SmartShare program was always defaulted to have Sharing ON, upon start of it, which is always when Windows boots).  However, about 3 weeks ago, the SmartShare PC program has started to randomly change its status to Sharing OFF.  I would then have to go into the program, manually change it to ON and then it works anywhere for 30 minutes up to 20 hours, and again, randomly change the Sharing to OFF.
I am an experienced PC user, and I am very sure that this has nothing to do with my WIFI because it’s not a dropped connection or random TV not being found.   Something is happening inside Windows 10 that is triggering this status change.  And it never fluctuates back to Sharing ON by itself.
Being so frustrated, I actually updated the Router to the latest firmware a few days ago, but this problem continues as before.
As an experiment, I installed an alternate Media Server program called Serviio.  One can also see that when my Sharing changes to OFF, the two green lights turn red.
Anyone have an idea of what can be happening after nearly 8 years of not experiencing this?       I am guessing that Windows is triggering some “Service” to stop running, but what can it be?

      Company’s ‘Optimism your feed’ Playlist
Garners 1.2 Billion Views in Just Three Weeks

SEOUL, June 21, 2024 — LG Electronics (LG) has launched a global social media challenge to amplify its brand promise of ‘Life’s Good’ by encouraging customers worldwide to create and share moments of everyday optimism on their social media feeds. Running across TikTok and Instagram, the challenge encourages participants to foster a more positive environment on their social media feeds by posting optimistic moments and selfies featuring the “ link hidden, please login to view” gesture – a popular symbol among K-pop idols created by forming a mini heart with the index finger and thumb – using the hashtags #Lifesgood and #Optimismyourfeed.
“LG is committed to delivering on its promise of Life’s Good. This social media challenge aims to uncover and share what Life’s Good means to our customers,” said Kim Hyo-eun, vice president and head of LG’s Brand Management Division. “We believe there is real power in approaching life with an optimistic attitude, and our Optimism your feed campaign’s social media challenge is all about embracing the opportunity to inspire more positive activities in the virtual and real world.”
The social media challenge is part of LG’s campaign and follows the launch last month of LG’s Optimism your feed playlist – a collection of original content that, when interacted with, will pull more optimistic content into your feed. Created in collaboration with global influencers known for their positive impact, the playlist offers users the opportunity to experience more uplifting and encouraging posts. Within just three weeks of its release on TikTok, YouTube and other social media platforms, the playlist has garnered over 1.2 billion views. It has resonated with viewers worldwide, prompting comments about their eagerness to participate and positively influence their algorithms.
The social media challenge invites users around the world to join influencers including , , , , and in spreading optimism across social media feeds. In just four days, around 21,000 users have already joined the movement to share their optimistic moments.
Meanwhile, LG has also launched an offline campaign event called ‘Optimism your day,’ which will run till early July. Continuing from last year, a truck adorned with the company’s ‘Life’s Good’ brand slogan is scheduled to tour the 11 business sites in Korea. The truck features a large LED display that plays ‘Life’s Good’ campaign videos and showcases positivity slogans shared by LG employees worldwide. LG believes in spreading the campaign’s message of optimism to employees as well as the outside world.
“We are all brand ambassadors of LG,” said CEO William Cho. “If each of us starts brightening our surroundings one step at a time, I believe LG will one day become a company that truly radiates positivity, helping to create better lives and a better world.”
