a. Copy all and overwrite with HE_DTV_W15U_AFADABAA file content

b. Change 192.168.0.11 with your local IP address

3. Run downgrade process follow my tutorial

4. If all goes well, remember to restore DNS settings on TV and then you can check for OTA updates if you want.

If goes wrong...

Well, then you have to do something with your connection. Maybe another computer, another place, another connection... It has to work.

So, good luck and let me know.  ;)

Hi Simon,

Thanks a lot for your help but unfortunately this did not work for me either :( I have disabled both my Kaspersky and Windows firewalls, then I have downloaded the software file to the "htdocs" folder and modified the "HE_DTV_W15U_AFADABAA" file with the content above and with my computer's IP address but still no luck (the online method also failed), my in_dump.txt file is not updated and my TV cannot find any updates :( I guess I will have to try this on a different computer, that is my option left.

By the way, here are the "startDNS.bat" log entries I receive using the local method (while Apache window does not create any):

Hey mtuna10. I'm sorry with still no success. The log looks like not being able to recognize your TV, so there is no answer in in_dump file. I think that this 04.10.10 firmware was inappropriate for your TV. I'm still looking for the right solution.

Hi Simon, yes, the problem is almost certainly related to my TV model or its current software version 04.10.10 because I have tried all I could to eliminate any possible network issues.

I have picked up an old laptop (with Windows XP) from the office, disabled the Windows firewall, made sure that only this computer and my TV is connected to my router via ethernet (I have even disabled WiFi on my router and on my TV) but still the TV could not find any updates.

I guess I am stuck with 04.10.10 :(

Hi Simon,

First of all, thanks a lot for still helping us. I believe that we will be able to downgrade our dumb TVs very soon with your help, but please don't give up on us :)

I have tried your above solution, exactly following the steps as you described but unfortunately my "in_dump.txt" file is still empty and my TV does not find any updates yet again. Here is the updated log from the "startDNS.bat" command window:

P.S. I will also try the same procedure on that old Windows XP laptop I have mentioned earlier and let you know about the result in the upcoming days (I am currently using Windows 10 Home Insider Preview Build 10565 and although I disable my firewalls maybe there might be some additional security settings blocking the computer-TV network connection, that is why I always mention that Windows XP machine and want to try the procedure on that too :) ).

Hello again Simon,

I also tried the above solution on that Windows XP machine but once again the process has failed ("in_dump.txt" file is still empty and my TV does not find any updates) with the following log on the "startDNS.bat" command window:

mtuna10, please check this shit with other network. I'm getting really pissed off.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi Simon,

I didn't really understand what you mean with the other network? I have tried this method with two different laptops on ethernet, is that what you mean?

Hey mtuna10,

I mean, maybe your Internet is the source of the problem. Maybe configuration of the Internet, or something like that. I've tried dozens of times get such situations with my TV, and nothing. I really don't know how to make in_dump file has not been overwritten. If something can be updated, it is also possible that this will outdated. But not in the case of your TVs. It's really annoying, though in general I am a very patient man.  B)

Hi

i hope somebody can help me here to downgrade my lg32ld750.

I have the same problem as mtuna10.

in_dump.txt and apache log stays empty.

My TV has firmware version 04.00.01 now. But latest firmware on lg page is 03.21.03.

I also tried the "option and press fav 7 times" method but sadly this gives an unknown error message.

Is there some other method to downgrade?

Thanks!

One more thing... DNS settings in laptop or router. Do you have automatic settings? I'm not sure if it's relevant, but in Acrylic log I see Google DNS IP 8.8.8.8 and OpenDNS IP 208.67.220.220.

Hello shm0,

Stay tuned, we will continue to attempt to resolve this problem.

Updated:

I checked your TV - it's not equipped with webOS. It's an old TV 2010/2011. LGwebOS forum is dedicated to devices with webOS, so I'm sorry, but I'm afraid that I will not be able to help you, the more that personally I don't have the right knowledge at this moment. Anyway I'll look around a little bit. If I find something, I'll let you know in a private message.

Yes Simon, it's really strange, I do not understand what I am doing wrong

Yes, I have automatic DNS settings; I will change it to 8.8.8.8 or OpenDNS IP and try again.

Also, I have another modem, I will try the same procedure with that modem. Also, I will set my TV to factory settings before the procedure; I do not know what I am going to do if this fails too :) I will let you know about the results.

No, it is rather not do anything. I thought that you might have set up one of these IP addresses. Automatic settings seems to be a good choice.

I thought also about another modem and reset settings, but I'm afraid some of your health.  ;)  In the worst case we both go crazy, and maybe dtosun also be joining us.  :D

Seems like there is no way to downgrade. The Update locked the debug mode and bootloader. Maybe through rs232 connection.

Thanks anyway!

Well, resetting the TV settings to factory defaults did not work either Simon  :(

I will also try again with my old modem tomorrow and I hope that we will be able to maintain our mental health at the end  :)

i'm still also with you guys :)   (Simon, i really appreciate your kind patience. thanks a lot!)

i have tried all possible ways too but still negative. One of the ways that i haven't tried is make an ethernet wired connection between PC and TV without router since i don't know how to do. And the last one of the ways is to learn russian to make our TV hacked by russian guys... :D

my last reply, fyi:

I've tried your last update but still no changes in in_dump file. I perform the work by WiFi network.

- I set the area code for Russia as suggested by @mbabakj

- turned off windows 8.1 firewall (no antivirus soft.)

- checked for port 80 for apache.exe (also, AcrylicConsole.exe uses port 53)

- checked the gateaway if both pc and tv match (192.168.1.1)

Note:

Our Turkish UF8507 model number is different from Russia UF850V model. May this cause the problem?

It's great hepmisafir, even more lunatics.  :D

I remember your post, but I forgot to answer. Sorry about that. Anyway, you see what is the situation with your UF850x. And I don't think so that different model number may cause downgrade problem. All the time I think the problem is in the wrong configuration of the connection between TV, PC and Internet/LG servers. If we are unable to connect to LG servers, wired connection between PC and TV without router will not help us. I also thought about it, the problem is only in fact that for me everything is working properly, so I can't see how it works for you.

we hope to find a working solution. otherwise we will be cracked by the warranty terms. And i'm afraid we will not get new official update for a few years.

On our LG G1 OLED, when watching a program on Binge, the Binge app restarts itself every 20 minutes or so with a message about needing to restart to free up memory. Power-cycling the TV doesn't fix the problem, nor does running the "Memory Optimiser" function from system settings. None of the other streaming service apps we have on the TV have this problem - Prime Video, Stan, Netflix, Disney+, Britbox, ABC iView, SBS On Demand, Youtube. Those are the only other apps installed on the TV. I've checked the LG WebOS version and checked for app updates, and everything is latest version.
If I run the Binge Android app on my Chromecast with Google TV, it works without any problems when streaming the same programs.

In fact, Spotify doesn't offer its service to LG webOS Smartwatch now. If you want to listen to Spotify songs on LG webOS Smartwatch, you'd need a

Samsung has made fridges with touchscreens before. LG has made fridges with doors that turn transparent to show you the inside. This year at CES 2018, those two ideas are finally merging into one with LG’s new InstaView ThinQ smart refrigerator, which features a 29-inch touchscreen that becomes transparent if users knock on it twice.
LG actually tried this two years ago, with a version called the Smart InstaView Door-in-Door that ran a full version of Windows 10, but it’s not clear that the company ever shipped the Windows version.
This version uses the touchscreen to manage your food using LG’s webOS software and Amazon’s Alexa, which will let you tag food with virtual stickers and expiration dates and get automatic reminders when things are running low or about to go bad. There’s also a wide-angle panoramic camera on the inside of the fridge that will let you remotely view your fridge while you’re out and about to check and see if you’re actually out of milk or not.

Unfortunately, the only image that LG has shared showing the fridge is a low-resolution shot on its YouTube page banner, but it seems that you’ll be able to still use the screen while it’s translucent, allowing you to tag food directly in a vaguely augmented reality-esque move.
LG is also touting how all of its ThinQ kitchen gadgets can talk to each other to make kitchen tasks easier. So your ThinQ fridge can talk to your EasyClean oven, which will help you cook food through step-by-step instructions from the recipe app from your fridge. Then, your EasyClean oven can notify your QuadWash dishwasher about the kind of meal you cooked, so it can more efficiently select a wash cycle for that dish. Of course, all this requires spending thousands of dollars replacing every appliance in your kitchen (and if this all works as well as LG claims it does), but it’s still an intriguing vision of a Jetsons-like future utopia.
No price or release date for the InstaView ThinQ refrigerator or any of LG’s other new appliances have yet been announced.
