Unable to load user agreements

Question

Posted

I have recently purchased an LG 43UH610T television.  I am located in Bali, Indonesia.  Everything seems to be working fine, but when I click on any of the options, such as LGTV, YouTube etc, it tells me I must first consent to the LG Smart TV user agreement.  However, I then get a message saying "Unable to load user agreements - a server error has occurred ......"

Can you help?

I have recently bought a 43uh661v LG TV and have the same issue. The User Agreements are unable to load. The internet connection is working, I can access  all websites.  I tried to change the DNS to 8.8.8.8 (Google's public DNS) but it is still not working. Were you able to manage to solve the problem? If yes, how? Thank you!

Some users have gotten around the issue by hotspotting with their mobile phones.

My solution was change the automatic location in to manual and to another country and it worked right away.

You need to go to settings -> General->About this TV.

Check for Updates -> Update TV.

When it finishes, restart the TV.

note: it is not finished updating when the screensaver comes on.

Go into settings again to check the update progress.

I had the same problem. It turned out that the tv was auto detecting a different router in the house that required a password instead of the one it was directly connected to that did not require a password.

I just unplugged the other router. The tv then auto detected the correct one and the user agreement downloaded.

This worked for me. I disconnected the router my TV was connected to and switched to a different network (mobile hotspot). The user agreement then appeared and everything is working. This happened to me on my LGC2 42.

LG don't appear to have the user agreements working for all countries, which is ridiculous but there you go. In my case, it was South Africa. I had to manually switch the country to Saudi Arabia on the LG device in the location setting (which caused a reboot), then go to the LG website on my PC and register a username with the country as Saudi Arabia, then back to the LG device (now booted up again) and choose the agreement option in the menu, then use the newly created username to sign the agreement(s). I connected the LG device to my mobile hotspot for all of this, then switched it back to the usual wifi router afterwards.

      Hello,
I regently got the LG 43UF6409 and have been pretty happy with it so far.
When I tried to open netflix or the LG conten store, it's starting to load the user agreements- those could not be loaded due to a server error(loose translation from german). If I retry to load those, it does not load either.
I've reset the TV to factory reset and it gives me the same error. It's connected to the wifi, shows me that it is connected to the internet but still won't load the user agreements.
Also tried to look for software updates (it's 3.20.40)- if I try to look for updates, it could not find any.

I have a LG CX 55 2023 TV and like it. I use it for work, and the dimming-after-1-minite feature is super frustrating. So I used the instructions here (
link hidden, please login to view) to turn off TPC, GSR and scrolling. It worked well and I was happy. But when the TV turns on a few hours, I've got an ugly window saying "Factory Mode: Press INSTOP to go to User Mode. Press Green Key 7 times to go to User Mode (user remote control.)
I hate this menu, and I hate having the ability to turn off zoom on a TV I'm using for work or youtube. Can anyone help me solve this issue and get rid of the monitor? I have another LG TV purchase on hold while I determine if there's a way to do this to my satisfaction or not. If they really have messed up LG TVs by making no way to turn off the dimming, I will also find a way to return my current TV to Costco despite having used it for six months.
When I tried this before, I learned that the INSTOP button will do a complete factory reset. This is NOT what I want, unless I really have no way to turn off the dimming. In which case I will cancel my other LG monitor purchase and make other plans.
