I'm not getting any audio from the apps via the HDMI via ARC connection to my receiver.  This occurred two weeks ago and was unable to resolve it, but ironically there was new firmware released that same day for my B6 (3/31/17) and this fixed the issue.  However, now I again can't get it working after a TV reset and tinkering with the audio settings again.  I tried to load the firmware again, but it appears this is not possible to forceable load the same firmware.

I've experienced this a few times with my UF770V set.

First time, had the mainboard replaced under a support call.

Second time, it was after I'd been messing with settings - found that ARC wouldn't work with HDMI Deep Colour enabled on HDMI1. Disabled it and ARC started working again.

Third time, seemed to coincide with the update to 04.25.56 firmware. After a *lot* of messing about with resetting to defaults, leaving unplugged, changing ARC/HDMI control settings on the TV and sound bar, I discovered that the following fixed it for me.

  1. Turn HDMI control off at the TV and soundbar
  2. Turn TV and sound bar off and unplug from power
  3. Disconnect all HDMI leads apart from the one between the TV and soundbar
  4. Plug TV and sound bar in, and turn on
  5. Enable HDMI control on the sound bar
  6. Enable ARC and HDMI control on the TV. Sound output to the soundbar show now work
  7. Turn the TV off - soundbar should turn off with it
  8. Turn the TV back on - soundbar should turn on automatically
  9. Plug the rest of the HDMI leads back in and test again

Also, I found that I had been setting the TV to PCM output, which basically meant stereo output even when the source was 5.1. Leave as Auto rather than PCM.

Hi, I just wanted to say thanks for the suggestions. Your third solution worked for me after trying all the more obvious ‘solutions’ provided by other users. My set up is an OLED C7 and SK9Y soundbar.

A little disappointed with LG that the set up procedure is so buggy especially between two LG products but delighted the issue is now resolved

If second HDMI is used on TV with ARC or power control on, then ARC will stop working! Try disable all Power control or ARC on all devices attached to the others HDMI except TV!

I only created this account to thank you. I was using my OLED TV with my Soundbar without problems when this occurred.  I followed your steps not thinking it would help much but it worked. Thanks a lot you saved my day.

Well… it worked. I was skeptical as I had tried all these things but it appears that order matters. THANK YOU for posting this solution. My system had been working fine for years and just stopped a couple days ago. It had done this once in the past but a power reset (unplug from wall) solved the problem that time. Again, thank you for posting the solution - would really like to understand why this procedure works - what is set that gets reset and makes it work again.

It’s a huge thank you from me too, as I was having the same problem and your procedure fixed it. It would be nice to know why it re-enables it but I’ll settle for the fact it works!

Well, another vote up for @Rich Dowling.  I did have to unplug the speaker one more time to get it to work.

One question I had was "Turn HDMI control off at the TV and soundbar" Not sure what this means.  I followed the other steps. like others, I wished I knew what caused the problem and why this worked.

I have C9 and SK8Y which worked perfectly for a year until the sound out just stopped one day. As did the ability to turn the soundboard on with the TV.   I have not re-connect any other HDMI port but for the soundbar.  I'll report back

I did these steps and it works…….but I have to do this often. TV also constantly drops the internet. I bought two LG TV’s a year ago and both have constant issues. Freezing, won’t connect to internet (fibre optic) and now these issues with my new sound bar.  I have to unplug them to reset constantly. I will never buy LG again. I never had these issues with my Samsung’s.

I am new to the forum and thought this was the closest topic to my issue. I have a LG QNED 85 smart tv with Webos. I only get stereo from my Webos apps and lg live tv with the sound set to pcm using the arc port from my LG tv to my pioneer AVR. If I set the sound to auto or passthrough I get digital noise. I have an Apple 4K tv second gen playing the Arizona prime and Apple + video apps and get 5.1 audio with the sound set to passthrough to the AVR. I also get OTA broadcast tv that gives me 5.1 audio when the sound is set to passthrough. Strangely, I get 5.1 audio from YouTube Webos app for videos that have 5.1 surround otherwise digital noise with the sound set to auto or passthrough. The tv sound out through the tv EARC port to the audio ARC port of the AVR is communicating. My AVR has only ARC capabilities. Also CEC is working with the Apple TV and AVR.  I wonder why Webos apps and LG live tv cannot use the passthrough sound settings to give me 5.1 audio?

Your a straight up Wizard my friend! 🧙🏽‍♂️ Just follow this magicians spell and it will fix your issue.

I've been trying to fix this issue for months!I have LG OLED tv connected to a Marantz nr1510 receiver and I've tried everything to try and diagnose the issue.. plugging cables in and out, hard resets, soft resets, power cycles, new cords, you name it... I was ready to flip a coin and replace either the tv, or the receiver.

Thankyou for saving me some money 🤘🏽

      Hello,
A few years ago I bought a 43" LG Model 43UK6200PUA, manufactured in 2018. I'm from Canada but I purchased this TV in the US. It was a store demo unit on for a great price. I took it home to Canada, set the location to Canada and setup up in our bedroom.  It has been working fine with our Fiber TV service as well as Netflix, Amazon etc. We also to have a 60" LG TV in the living room which was purchased in Canada. This TV is similar in age to the one in the bedroom. Recently I started watching the LG channels on the living room  TV. I hadn't really paid much attention to them before but now I enjoy them. My problem is that the LG channels do not work on the bedroom TV. I suspect because it was purchased in the US but located in Canada. With the location set to Canada the LG channel guide populates and shows what's on however when I select a program I get the following message.
LG Channels can't be serviced if a user changes 'LG Service Country' from Settings. In order to use LG Channels service, please restore 'LG Service Country' to its condition of original purchase
So if I change the location to the US I get this message.
Sorry, LG Channels is not available in your location. Please set your location to your current location in the settings. If you are in the service area, please visit www.lgappstv.com for help.
As you can see the messages sort of contradict each other also the website mentioned www.lgappstv.com is not working. I suspect that the location for this TV is set to the US at some deeper level. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I purchased an LG 86" UT8050 4K UHD LED Smart TV (2024) from JBHIFI in Australia. The TV was wall-mounted and set up by a local installer. I discovered that my TV has Chromecast built-in. I tried casting music from Roon, but Chrome immediately crashed and the TV shutdown. I tried again and the audio was distorted. I shut down and tried again and the audio stuttered. I tried Chromecasting with Qobuz and Plex and got the same result on audio playing out to my Yamaha RX-V6A and the TV speakers. I then tried to play audio from the Plex App in the LG WebOS. That played fine, without any distortion.
Thinking this might have been a result of a hurried setup (the installer did this job "on the run" I reset the TV to factory defaults and set it up again. Everything went smoothly. But the problem with Chromecast persists. First time launching Chromecast the app crashed and the TV shutdown. 2nd try I got distorted audio to the receiver and to the TV speakers. Audio and Video are fine on all other apps. I can see no other faults.
I've been Googling this and not seeing much info other than a few threads where people are saying that the LG built-in Chromecast feature does not work. I saw that one person returned his TV and the replacement had the same issue with built-in Chromecast. Most discussions on this issue are hijacked by people using a Chromecast streamer or dongle as opposed to the built-in Chromecast. They often talk about turning off this or that specific Chromecast setting, settings that are not accessible with a TV with built in Chromecast
In the WebOs when I look at connected source devices Chromecast is there with a "Chromecast Settings" option. The settings have only one option and that is opt-in on sending crash data to Google. Apparently, Google is not monitoring the issue very closely.
I listen to mostly Hi-Res audio. I wonder if the issue is caused by the bitrate of 24-bit Hi Res flac files. I did notice that when I cast audio that was CD quality (16-bit), the distortion did not occur. This is weird though because in the past I have been able to cast 24-bit audio to Chromecast-enabled devices without any problems.
My TV says my firmware is up to date. I did not see a prompt to install a firmware update during setup. I've set software and app updates to be automatic.
Appreciate any help or even a "Hey, it's not just you, this is a known issue, I've got this problem too".

A couple days ago My LG Oled voice recognition stopped working.
If I speak to it it just says "Voice not recognized"
I have tried many things I found online to fix this issue with no luck.
One suggestion was to go to Settings>all settings>general>AI Service>Voice recognition service and change to LG ThinQ.
But the  Voice recognition service tab is gone. There is only voice recognition settings tab
I would rather not have to reset to factory settings unless there is a way to save / export my current seating's
      Any suggestions

      Thanks

      Hello,

I recently purchased an LG C2 65" with WebOS and I find that sometimes I want to use multiview picture-in-picture to play a video game from an HDMI input, then watch youtube in a small window. It would be nice if I could also listen to the game audio along with the youtube audio. I am thinking it would be enough to have both audio sources combined and I could adjust the volume from the HDMI device. Ideally, it would have its own mixer to set the volumes of each but that is not needed initially. Also, I wish there were move options for moving the screen around. I really like how Firefox has their picture-in-picture mode where you can move it around the screen so dynamically and change the size by dragging the window. It is nice that it can be moved around the screen, and made smaller. And probably good to have those as default movements but maybe have an option to unlock full moving of the screen.

I have a 65 Inch LG OLED evo AI C4 4K Smart TV 2024 - Model OLED65C4PUA.ACC. here have been a many weird things happening. This is one of them:
I have 2 HDMI 2.1 cables attached to a Rogers Internet TV unit (HDMI 4) and the other 2.1 cable plugged into an XBOX Series X (HDMI 3). If the TV is on an HDMI 4 is active, and I turn on the XBOX (HDMI 3), the TV begins to swtich back and forth constantly and never ends until I turn off the TV. It will automatically switch itself from HDMI 4 to 3, then 3 to 4, then back to 3 again non-stop.
If I power off the XBOX, this behaivor stops.
Would anyone know why this does that? Is this a software or hardware problem? I tried to describe this to LG Support but they had no answers.
