First in the 5G Private Network Industry to Receive Domestic Network
Equipment Certification from Korea Association of Network Industries
SEOUL, Sep. 26, 2024 — LG Electronics (LG) is stepping up its presence in the 5G private network market, a key infrastructure for future industries. The company has recently achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first in 5G private network industry to receive the “Domestic Network Equipment Certification” from the Korea Association of Network Industries for its self-developed 5G private network solution.
The “Domestic Network Equipment Certification” is awarded to products that are developed and manufactured in South Korea, a key credential for supplying to public institutions. This certification marks LG’s official recognition for internalizing core 5G private network technologies.
A 5G private network is a customized network deployed in specific areas like factories and buildings, offering high-speed data transmission and exceptional stability. It serves as a vital foundation for innovations such as digital and AI transformation (DX/AX) and smart factory operations.
LG’s certified 5G private network solution leverages advanced software to handle network functions typically managed by traditional 5G equipment like Radio Access Network (RAN) and 5G Core. This software-based approach allows for faster data processing and improved stability, with the added benefit of enabling upgrades without hardware replacement, significantly lowering operational costs.
Harnessing its strong software capabilities, LG’s solution delivers a customized 5G private network tailored to meet diverse client needs and installation environments. For instance, it can create secure, isolated networks for clients with high-security requirements or integrate external cloud services for companies that require frequent collaboration with external partners.
In addition to network setup, LG’s solution offers a device control platform for seamless management of connected devices. This includes LG’s own products, such as robots and digital signage, as well as clients’ existing equipment like CCTV and smart safety devices, all integrated via the 5G private network.
With the momentum from this domestic certification, LG plans to actively pursue both enterprise-focused and public 5G private network initiatives, targeting sectors like smart factories and more.
Recognizing the immense potential of the 5G private network market, LG has committed significant resources to technology development. The company holds around 30,000 telecommunications patents, including many related to 5G, ranking it among the world’s top innovators. Last year, LG formally added “facilities-based telecommunications business” to its portfolio, positioning itself for full-scale commercialization of its 5G solutions.
LG also brings extensive real-world experience, having tested its 5G private network solution at various reference sites, including its Tennessee factory, a smart factory in Chungbuk, a logistics center in Incheon and a university hospital in Seoul.
The global 5G private network market is expected to grow rapidly, from approximately USD 2 billion in 2023 to around USD 11.8 billion by 2028, with a projected annual growth rate exceeding 40 percent, according to market research firm MarketsandMarkets.
“We will continue to provide customized 5G private network solutions for clients who need fast, stable networks, leveraging our outstanding 5G technology and operational expertise, accumulated in various sectors such as factories, logistics centers and hospitals,” said Lee Jun-sung, vice president and head of LG’s Private Network Business Development Department.

Hello,
We are a company developing streaming apps for our customers. As-to enhance developer / tester / any other teams experience into LG universe, and be able to quickly test any environments we have (dev / staging / production), we'd like to be able to install apps that aren't removed after Developer Mode expires, or aren't visible/listed to the public store.
We looked upon the idea to extend Developer Mode session with a Crontab with specific accounts for each TV, but some TVs are stopping the Developer Mode when being powered down, so it doesn't seem the most industrialised idea.
Let me know what we can do to answer that issue !
Thanks !

Company’s Facility First to be Confirmed by Global Testing and Certification
Organization to Evaluate the Functional Safety of Automotive Software
SEOUL, June 2, 2022 — LG Electronics’ (LG) Software Testing Center has officially been designated a TÜV Rheinland Appointed Laboratory, meaning the facility can now conduct functional safety tests on any automotive software solution that falls under the ISO 26262-6 standard.* World’s first of its kind to earn this status, LG’s Software Testing Center possesses the capabilities to independently assess and confirm the quality and functional safety of a wide range of automotive software products, from self-driving systems and in-vehicle networks to electric and electronic devices.
According to the ILAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement (ILAC MRA), reports issued by LG’s Software Testing Center will be recognized in 70 countries and territories, including the United States and Europe, and will carry the same credibility as those issued by a dedicated third-party testing agency.
In order to receive confirmation from TÜV Rheinland, one of the world’s leading global testing organizations, an institute or facility must meet a wide range of strict standards covering criteria such as test environment, equipment, capabilities and processes.
With its new status as a TÜV Rheinland Appointed Laboratory for automotive functional safety software, the lab is now able to meet growing auto industry demand by testing and providing TÜV Rheinland confirmation for companies’ vehicle software solutions. This latest accomplishment also provides LG with an opportunity to further strengthen its competitiveness in the rapidly expanding field of automotive software.
Last year, LG’s Software Testing Center received accreditation from the internationally respected Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS), becoming an ISO 26262-6 certified lab for evaluating autonomous vehicle software and measuring the quality of electric and electronic products (IEC 61508-3). LG is currently the only Korean manufacturer that can independently produce and issue a KOLAS-sanctioned report covering all these key areas.
“We’re deeply proud of the fact that our software lab has earned TÜV Rheinland confirmation and KOLAS accreditation in the span of less than one year,” said Kim Byoung-hoon, CTO of LG Electronics. “LG will continue to secure world-class automotive software capabilities to provide a differentiated customer experience based on a high level of safety.”

First in Korea Certified to Test Functional Safety of Software for Autonomous Vehicles
SEOUL, Sep. 8, 2021 — LG Electronics’ (LG) Software Testing Center has officially been recognized as an ISO 26262-certified lab to conduct functional safety tests on software designed for autonomous vehicles. As South Korea’s first facility certified to test such software, the results issued by LG’s Software Testing Center will have international credibility in over 70 countries and regions, including the United States, Europe and Japan.*
ISO 26262 is an international standard for the functional safety of electrical and electronic systems found in production road vehicles, as defined by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). One measurement of ISO 26262 determines the probability of accidents caused by errors in automotive software or development processes, a critical factor in the commercialization of self-driving vehicles. Certification allows LG to not only test the functional safety of software written for self-driving vehicles but all automotive software systems and AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture (AUTOSAR) that fall under the ISO 26262 standard without the involvement of external agencies.
The accreditation was issued by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS), an internationally recognized agency charged with the establishment of national standard systems and operation of industrial standardizations in matters related to safety and quality. LG’s Software Testing Center was previously recognized by KOLAS as an internationally accredited testing institution in software quality measurement (ISO/IEC 25023) and industrial functional safety (IED 61508-3) of electronic products and technologies including smart appliances, TVs, robots, AI, cloud and energy.
“LG Electronics is extremely proud to be entrusted with the world’s best functional safety verification capability for automotive software,” said Dr. I.P. Park, president and CTO of LG Electronics. “With this recognition, LG will be able to provide even better products and services that customers can trust to deliver the most reliable software possible.”

Which did technicolour actually do ?
Having instal the FW beta on my 55"C7 and measured the Technicolour picture preset with chromapure calibration software and an i1 pro I can see there is little to no improvement over isf dark/brightroom .
So what was the point ? Technicolour presets does nothing new or better .
Also the 2017s still have audio sync issues with built in Speakers but now with this FW beta that sync issues is also on arc to external sound systems .
