Simple way to disable Factory Mode and return to User Mode by default

Question

Posted

My NEW LG 4k UHD is suddenly showing a Factory Mode floating message on Power startup...

All the information I've read (including LG online & TV documentation) DOESN'T mention this mode and how to restore User Mode...

Is this really a Smart TV ??

Did you get this issue resolved. If yes, pls share solutiin
Hi! I want to know if you have set your tv in family mode ? You hit settings on your remote -> advanced -> general -> home(family) / store mode, then select home(family) mode. Then set or reset your tv if needed.

Or you can do what is say in this video it might work:

If your remote control is not working

Then you should try the "instop" option or button in the "sure universal remote" app that you can find on the Google playstore in an Android smartphone.

Once the sure app is pair to the tv -> hit the checkered square -> scroll down to the bottom and hit the "instop" option to factory reset your tv.

If you can't use the sure app, you can purchase this not to expensive lg services remote on amazon it go the "instop" button and more...

Look for this it cost about $9.90

Thank you for your reply. I tried the Harmony universal remote and also the IR remote app on Samsung Galaxy tab. Nothing worked out. Now my TV is stuck in Factory mode. The message floating on TV says, Press INSTOP to go back to user mode. I have tried LG service remote, Harmony remote and Samsung IR smart app to send INSTOP command. There is nothing happens.

I also tried the P-only button on service remote that allows to enter the Instop without password. When i press P-only button, the TV turns on with message saying pressure exit and turn-off to exit P-only mode. Press Exit and INSTOP to revert back to User mode. I pressed the exit and INstop nothing happens. Please help me here on how to turn off Factory mode and revert back to User Mode.

Thanks

Hi! After doing what you did you have to turn off the tv and turn it on again for change to be executed i think. Have you done that ?

Did you unplug hdmi and network cable ?

And have you try this method :

Me I added in the harmony elite remote, the "services menu" ,the "in_start" and the "instop" options

I think you could do the same

We are able to EDIT some of the functions that are in the initial SETTINGS screen.  However other functions that are layers deep into the settings are unable to be dragged/dropped into that EDIT function. Like ASPECT RATIO. To get to that feature requires a long list of clicking things. It is a function that we use a LOT in order to prevent screen burn-in on these OLED screens. (to be able to watch a channel for extended period of time that happens to have that stupid LOGO or "crawl" along the bottom. Like CNN or MSNBC).

My magic remote and my Roku remote stopped working for turning off power so I performed a factory reset after troubleshooting to get the remote working.  I am now stuck at the 1st screen of the Factory Reset which says "Press the OK Button(wheel) on your remote."  Well... this really stinks because the remote doesn't work!!!  I have tried a USB mouse, a new magic remote, other LG Remotes with no luck.  I have also tried using the button on the bottom of the tv.  And, I contacted support which was just an exercise in redoing everything I had already tried... No Luck!!
This is a Nano Cell 55NANO81ANA which is basically just a big brick now since I cannot even use any of the inputs.  Does anyone have a trick for getting past this initial screen???
      Thanks for the help.

I'm having this problem with LG Oled 65c16LA with WebOs Version 03.40.85
When I turn off the TV, it goes into standby mode.
After 2 minutes the red standby LED turns off and it is no longer possible to turn the TV back on with the remote or with the power on button.
It is then necessary to unplug the power supply, wait a few minutes and reconnect it.
So the TV goes back to standby and you can turn it on again. In use everything works.
Is it a software problem? How can I solve it?
      Thank you
