Question

Posted (edited)

I have contacted LG to see if I could reset the pin code. It was changed from the default over a year ago. I’m in the states, so the instruction included the channel up and down buttons on the remote.

We tried the following:

1) Channel up, channel up, channel down, channel up

*the idea is to have a master pin code box open enter a code  (Didn’t work. No box opened)

2) Tried all of the following codes:

0000, 7777, 0313, 0323, 0325

(None worked)

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

The model is 55UV8500 (2014)

The software version is 05.05.45

Spent another 45 minutes on with Lg rep.

Finally reset.

Steps are:

1) Power off TV.

2) Unplug the TV.

3)Hold the power button for 10’seconds.

4)Plug in the Tv.

5) Power on the Tv.

6) Access the Safety option via the cog (Cog-(or home button)-Advanced options-Safety

7) Select the Reset PIN Code option.

8)Enter Pin Code. Any numbers will work.

9) After the Pin Mismatch error message, press the Channel Up, Channel Up, Channel Down, Channel Up.

10) The Master Pin Code box should appear. Enter your master code ( It may be 0313, 0325, 0323, 0000, 1234,7777 depending on your Tv model. It is best to call LG to determine the correct code)

11) Change your PIN code.( Preferably to 0000 because who wants to go thru this ever again???!!!???)

Hope this helps.

Since the Web OS update last week, the line on the Home Screen with all my apps has changed.  Now Apps is the first one in the line.  I do not want it there, but cannot move it.  If I go to the end where it shows Edit Apps, I can click on any app to move it or delete it.  But, the Apps icon is grayed out and cannot be moved.  My neighbor has the exact same model I do -- LG OLED 653PUA -- and it is not like that on his tv.  He can move the App icon anywhere he wants.  This is very annoying as it defaults to the Apps icon when I click on Home and then I need to click to get to YouTube TV, which until the update was always first in the line.

Trying to programme my magic remote to control an Amlogic OTT, however keep getting a ‘temporary issue occurred’ when I try. I’ve been trying for over a week now, so this temporary issue isn’t so temporary!

My magic remote and my Roku remote stopped working for turning off power so I performed a factory reset after troubleshooting to get the remote working.  I am now stuck at the 1st screen of the Factory Reset which says "Press the OK Button(wheel) on your remote."  Well... this really stinks because the remote doesn't work!!!  I have tried a USB mouse, a new magic remote, other LG Remotes with no luck.  I have also tried using the button on the bottom of the tv.  And, I contacted support which was just an exercise in redoing everything I had already tried... No Luck!!
This is a Nano Cell 55NANO81ANA which is basically just a big brick now since I cannot even use any of the inputs.  Does anyone have a trick for getting past this initial screen???
      Thanks for the help.

I have an optical plugged into a hearing aid box. I also have an LG S95QR sound bar plugged into the eARC.
Works fine in eARC. When I try to select the optical + TV option for output, it switches over ok for about .5 seconds, then automatically switches back to the eARC output without me doing it.
Does anyone know what it might do this? Why can't I change my output if I so choose?

I can't connect  my LG ThinQ app to Google Home app.
When I try I'm 'told' that no compatible appliance is found.
But my tv, the LG Web OS TV  UM7100PLB ( 2019 ), is in the LG ThinQ app. I even reinstalled it.
This probably is not a new subject, but, if this question has ever been answered, I can't find a solution.
Is my TV too old ?
