I agree that a DirecTVnow app should be developed ASAP "even if only in beta form" to allow LG OLED TV owners maximize their TV usage rather than going to a 3rd party devices outside of the webOS interface. Once the app is developed I would NOT need a ChromeCast or FireStick anymore.

I have WebOS 3.0 on my TV and need an ugly ROKU device and a second remote to control DirectTV Now.  Makes me want to go to Sling Because my WebOS already has that app built in... but i lose local channels!

LG, please fix!  Shoot, hire me and i'll help write the code.

I really like my Direct TV Now. I am in the market for another new smart TV. However, if this app doesn't get added, I'll be getting something other than an LG, cause I'm not buying another Apple TV device or other 3rd party device to go with the new TV. About to lose a loyal customer. Even my new washer and dryer are LG.

The problem is that LG do not (in general) create the apps for webOS, in the same way that Google and Apple do not write all the apps on their respective platforms.  Contacting LG via the their official feedback page will help show them the desire for a DIRECTV NOW app.  But the more important thing to do is contact DIRECTV NOW themselves.

It should not be too hard for DIRECTV NOW to get onboard with a LG webOS app as they where writing for it back in 2010, although how well they did remains unclear:

Yes I just received my 65'E8 PUA OLED tv for my great room (beautiful picture quality), but currently I have DirecTV Now app/service  on my office tv and guest room tv's via Roku. To enhance the customer experience the DirecTV Now app is a must have and the partnership with LG and AT& T should make this a top priority . The decision makers that may read this is there an ETA on this? Can new and current LG customers expect to see something in Q1 or Q2 of 2019?

Roku Ultra is vastly preferable to the inferior hardware, limited apps, inadequate onboard memory and hideous interface many if not most wifi-enabled Smart TVs, feature.

I'm actually using it right now on a Samsung flat screen that's about 12 years old, and I prefer the experience to that of the three smart TVs, two of which are Samsungs that I purchased last Christmas, that I have in the house.

Just got a new 55in C4 and a Denon DHT-S316 Soundbar. With my very old LG I like to have the TV connected to the speakers during the day and in the evenings I would switch to bluetooth headphones. I could easily turn off my headphones and switch back to the optical sound output with no issues.
However I tried this and while I connected my headphones with no issues, once I disconnected I couldn't get the sound to come back through the sound bar without having to with the TV and sound bar off which feels crazy at this point in time and the cost of the TV when my very old LG did this with now issues.

      Any suggestions much welcomed.

      Hello,
      I have a new C4 TV.
Here is the problem I am facing, as well as a suggestion for improvement.

When you have an acoustic deficiency, it is much easier to use a headset (via bluetooth).
But the only current option is to switch the sound to the internal speakers when you activate the bluetooth.
It is still a shame to penalize other people who watch TV by no longer allowing the use of a good sound installation that you have (sound bar, ...) because a person needs an acoustic aid.
Would it be possible to add this combination (optical output + bluetooth) to satisfy everyone?
I add that I tried to place an optical splitter to combine the 2, however, there is a bug apparently because as soon as you turn off the headset, there is a white rectangle which probably indicates an error that appears very briefly but every few seconds, which makes TV viewing impossible.
      Thanks for the follow-up

I haven't searched this forum, but there has to be others who find that tv remote pointer to be extremely annoying. I'm actually surprised that we still can't turn that feature off. Having the cursor/pointer feature isn't even close to the importance of being able to shut off. I mean, how hard is to put one checkbox in the ui to toggle the feature on or off? It seems like a no-brainer, big bang for the buck change that many users would appreciate

The specs for the magic remote promise "Voice Recognition with Intuitive Mouse Like Pointing and Wheel Control". I think that would be nice. The current implementation of scrolling via the wheel on the magic remote is not intuitive. Why would I move my thumb up to pull the text shown on the screen down to the bottom?
Question is, can we please get natural scrolling for WebOS 5.5.0 and newer? Some option in the settings would be fine. The current "unnatural" scrolling is a major obstacle in usability for me, and the main reason to not buy LG again.
