HDMI/ARC completely dead after update to

Question

Posted

After my LGOLED55C7 updated to 04.70.85 I have l;ost all sound through ARC.

I have an Arcam AVR550 receiver which works for everything else and used to work perfectly (even with the latest Arcam update that provided Dolby Digital +).

Unfortunately after the TV updated to 04.70.85 I have lost all sound over ARC. The reciever switches to RC as normal when, for example, Netflix is started, It shows Dolby Digital + is being transmitted, but there is NO SOUND.

Any clues?

I have factory reset both the TV and the receiver :-(

Today i called with LG customer service

from the netherlands so not sure if it works outside the netherlands

I told him wat my problem was, and i had to email him pictures of all the data stored onder about my tv

such as software etc

Here i use a teufel c11bs soundbar and works through 3.5 jack and works through Fiber

but not under hdmi what ever i try

He is coming back to me

we also checked that 04.70.85 is the latest software avalaible

I can also confirm this issue with my LG 86SJ957V. I was using Denon AVR-X1400H and my ARC was working without any problem.

After the 04.70.85 firmware update, no sound whatsoever. When I select the ARC/Hdmi in the TV it doesn't even turn on the receiver.

Should I wait for the next firmware or should I buy a media player?

I am waiting for software update, becasuse they now about the problem, and on special occaisons i turn on the soundbar manually and use the jack plug connection

Same here, I tweeted at @LGUSSupport but no big hopes: "Did something happen with a recent webOS update (04.71.00)? My OLED65C7P no longer outputs sound to my LG SJ9 soundbar in Optical/HDMI ARC mode. SIMPLINK is on, HDMI cable hasn't moved, had worked like a charm for a year+, but no sound as of a few days ago"

webOS updated, I think to 2023, on my C2 a couple of days ago. Since then the News option on the Sky News app no longer works, instead timing out. The Weather and Climate options still work, though.
I have deleted and reloaded the Sky News app, but the problem remains.
Does anybody have any suggestions of what I might try to get this working again, or is this something for LG, or Sky, to fix?

Our TV just did an update and now certain buttons on the remote aren't working, and the TV won't stay on if it even comes on at all you get a dark blue screen and that is it.. such a great update. Now what do we do? The remote batteries have been changed and it still isn't working correctly. We unplugged the TV and then replaced it in.. ugh..

My LG 49UB850V LED TV  browser is too old. The most of the pages not work any more. How to easy update just one simple browser app? For example, often browser show error during open new page. It show certificate expire problem and page not load at all.
This mean LG sell product without update at least browser certificate and now we are stuck and can not even load one page from WWW.

Shame on you LG. I will not buy any more from you.  How dificolt is to release new update to update OS certificates? Microsoft Windows did this, android did also for old phones, etc... Really, can not undestend this asian people from Korea.

Up until a few days ago my TV and AVR have been working perfectly since I bought it.
Zero hassles with HDMI and connectivity.
Then I was prompted to update to the latest software version which I did and now often when I switch HDMI (running on 1) it picks up the device name, CEC works but I get “No Signal”… and then nothing.
Just stays on “No Signal”. It is almost as if some HDMI handshake breaks and now the driver is in a broken state.
I’ve found that if I hard power off and power on the device sometimes works but I don’t want to do that every time especially since it’s hard to get to the power.
This really strikes me as a software issue with the latest update as absolutely nothing else has changed in my setup.
      I’ve tried:
Different HDMI cables (high quality) Deep colour settings Reset the TV to factory default Different HDMI ports TV
      Model: OLED65G26LA / OLED65G26LA.HFBQLWK WebOS TV Version: 8.3.0.2301 Software Version: 13.30.56 AVR & Devices
Marantz SR5015 Nvidia Shield Pro PS5
The setup is the conventional AVR installation as shown in the attached file

      Has anyone else experienced this?
Is it possible to revert the software update?
