When will the 4.0 update be available for my 2016-17 LG Smart TV?  I just got Alexa and can't use it for the TV unless it has the 4.0 version.  Model #70UH6350-UB.

I recently asked LG support to look into this for me, and though I don't have my hopes up for full 4.x on the 2016 and 2017 sets (be it a matter of performance, developer time, or lack of customer complaints), it would *really* be nice to at least get a teaser or two (like Assistant and Alexa support) backported to 3.3 and 3.5.

LG could certainly earn some valuable loyalty points by falling in with the cool kids- the ones who roll out major system updates for years ;)

I can’t believe there aren’t more people requesting an update to fix this integration issue with Alexa devices.

I wish I can upgrade my 49UH850 to webos 4+, but all hopes seemed lost since LG is not answering question on how to upgrade older models to newer webos OS

Would be nice to be able to get HBO MAX or at least cast from my phone to my 2017 UJ series. I bought a new 65” model that has everything and put my old 49er in my room. I don’t know how long the expected lifespan of each model is but LG should continue supporting models for longer than two-three years it seems.

No answer here. My Google search ked to many other not productive answers & now I'm here. I just to vent with you. I want Paramount + on my TV!!! Apparently I need webOS 4.0 or higher. My TV has 3.9 and when I try to "update software," it tells me "no update available." Watching TV on my phone is not cool 🤨

Lg annonced it. Long ago but it never came as always they dont do such major  os  update.  So tv. On  lg tvos 3.0   wont reach 4.0. .. 4 eont reach 5. Etc

Now there wre  ta couple options available not all of em are good thought

First  option which is probably the best solution and the one i personally use is to. Connect hdmi media streaming  device but. Here the are.    From best to worst   well i mean   based on my own opinion lol

Google tv with Chromecast  bringing android tv os  with all  the google apps. Appstore  even the. Beta versions of unreleased android version are available on thoses so they ll last for a while  before .they change it  also bring the google assistant to the tv.  And   they are if i m right arounf 30 or 35  for the full hd 1080p  hdmi dongle   amd 45 $ the. 4k version  and support. Airplay and chromecasting. .

fire tv cube which have every app i could need. Air play chromecasy miracast etc which cost about 50$

The fire stick is ok but dont take a lot  to cradh as it s underpowred  around 20$

I personally wss using fire  tv cube and the google tv with chromecast that came later i love both buy all my stuff in here is google so ...

SECOND OPTION

Lg TV have miracast which is pc windows os  version of chromecast software .. roku can  use it any windowss devices can strem direct too .. it s not chromecast but works the same way

For this option you need a app made by LG but removed from the app store this spring but still works .. and  it is still avilable it you had the hap before ..you can download it on app store it. Is called alava "LG TV PLUS" uou can case your phone. Or filed  or websites

You can easy find tve apk on  android alternatives places to download apk file  i persony use  pure apk and bever had an issue but pick the apk. Store you feel safe using

You might be able to use airplay  on apple devices to stream  trought the apple tv  on app store but  not all tv work with airplay

THIRD OPTION

If you have amazon prime tv membership paramount+ is part of   paid subscription of  amazon  prime

FOURTH OPTION   (not recommanded unless you know what you do and risky to brick) webos. 3.5 to 3.9 can. Be   jailbreaking   because  a vulnerablity   found allow installing jailbreak  with home brew and another app store but made by lg but i dont recommand for security reason.and the  way.  To get.it

BONUS

LAST RESORT OPTION

Change the tv. ..lol not the best. Option as it aint cheapest and   not environment friendliest

P.s. you can cast to  xbox systems or playstation systems too

Hope it help

Matt

It is really a pain. Always hanging up on while playing youtube videos and the only way to reset memory usage is to turn of and on the TV. Disney app is not available too. Even casting is not supported.

Google tv with chromecast. Hdmi dongle is 35  for the full hd or 45$. The 4k  both on the latest android tv os software. All apps works .. made by google  and brings   the google assistant.   And solve all issue

Greetings, friends! I have a LG smart TV 32LF632V, model from 2016, which when updating the software stays on Webos 2 version. I need Webos 3 version to be able to install one domestic application. Now I can download the installation to the USB, put it in the TV and install it that way (there are instructions on the internet), but I'm afraid that I will create a problem (that I won't be able to install or restore it afterwards) because this version of the TV is not intended for more advanced users versions since Webos 2.

Has anyone tried something similar or knows if it is possible or not?

THANK YOU!

To celebrate one year since this bold move, the company has launched an advertising campaign showcasing the remarkable progress it has made so far.
Titled ‘Connecting Spaces and Future,’ the campaign highlights this vision and demonstrates a strong dedication to innovation, aiming to strengthen its reputation as a leading innovator across various sectors. Up until a few days ago my TV and AVR have been working perfectly since I bought it.
Zero hassles with HDMI and connectivity.
Then I was prompted to update to the latest software version which I did and now often when I switch HDMI (running on 1) it picks up the device name, CEC works but I get “No Signal”… and then nothing.
Just stays on “No Signal”. It is almost as if some HDMI handshake breaks and now the driver is in a broken state.
I’ve found that if I hard power off and power on the device sometimes works but I don’t want to do that every time especially since it’s hard to get to the power.
This really strikes me as a software issue with the latest update as absolutely nothing else has changed in my setup.
      I’ve tried:
Different HDMI cables (high quality) Deep colour settings Reset the TV to factory default Different HDMI ports TV
      Model: OLED65G26LA / OLED65G26LA.HFBQLWK WebOS TV Version: 8.3.0.2301 Software Version: 13.30.56 AVR & Devices
Marantz SR5015 Nvidia Shield Pro PS5
The setup is the conventional AVR installation as shown in the attached file

      Has anyone else experienced this?
Is it possible to revert the software update?

I received an update 05.40.45 for my LG 65UM7510PLA TV a few days ago. After I tried to edit the channel list with the ChanSort programme, I noticed that the channel list transferred from the TV to USB was greatly reduced.
This was not a problem with the previous version 05.40.20. Unfortunately, it is not possible to upload the old version via USB.

Featuring a 21:9 Aspect Ratio Screen, LG’s Latest Smart Monitor Is Perfect
      for Productivity and Entertainment

SEOUL, July 24, 2024 — LG Electronics (LG) is launching its latest LG MyView Smart Monitor (model 34SR65QC),1 a 34-inch display with a unique form factor and a range of features for better productivity and entertainment experiences. This marks the company’s first smart monitor featuring a curved, 21:9 aspect ratio UltraWide screen, offering an expansive desktop display solution for customers seeking improved workflow, enhanced viewing immersion or both.
The newly-released LG MyView Smart Monitor boasts a 34-inch WQHD (3,440 x 1,440) resolution2 VA panel, delivering 300 nits of brightness, a wide viewing angle and 99 percent coverage of the sRGB color gamut. These specifications, combined with the screen’s 21:9 format, make the LG MyView an excellent ‘side-by-side’ desktop companion for office workers, developers and other digital professionals.
The 34SR65QC facilitates greater work efficiency courtesy of its elongated, high-resolution display, useful screen-organization features and support for various home-office apps. The 21:9 UltraWide display provides additional screen-space, allowing users to keep multiple tabs and windows open at the same time and arrange them optimally using the built-in Screen Split function. What’s more, users can take advantage of apps such as mail, online document editors and cloud storage directly on the monitor without having to connect to a PC or laptop. The extra width of the 34SR65QC enables users to operate productivity apps in full screen (16:9) mode and still have enough room for helpful generative AI tools, which can be conveniently pinned to the right-hand part of the display in a smaller-sized (5:9) window.
The 34SR65QC is also ideal for those seeking a movie theater-like experience at home. Its UltraWide display allows users to enjoy 21:9 content as it was meant to be seen, eliminating the letter-boxing needed to preserve the aspect ratio on conventional 16:9 monitors. This new model is the first in the LG MyView lineup to allow the streaming of video captured in the 21:9 format, bringing a cinematic feel to broadcast content and giving users a real sense of being part of the action.
Like all LG MyView Smart Monitors, the 34SR65QC comes equipped with the LG webOS platform, which provides access to a wide range of content services including Netflix, YouTube and Prime Video, along with personalized viewing recommendations and intuitive navigation. For even more superb content options, users can head to LG Channels – LG’s free, premium content service – and browse more than 300 channels3 spanning categories such as movies, news, sports, drama and children’s programming. Additionally, with AirPlay 24 and ScreenShare5 support, users can stream or mirror content from their smartphones, enjoying all their go-to mobile apps and games on the monitor’s large, curved screen.
The 34SR65QC comes with a handy remote that provides basic functions such as power and volume control. It is also compatible with the LG Magic Remote,6 which delivers user-friendly features such as AI Concierge and one-touch access to popular streaming services including Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+. The AI Concierge, activated by pressing the Magic Remote’s microphone button, recognizes different voices and recommends content based on each user’s viewing history.
Furthermore, once LG MyView Smart Monitor has been connected to the LG ThinQ smart home platform, the ThinQ app can transform the user’s smartphone into a remote offering both touch- and voice-control capabilities. For additional convenience, users can manage monitor settings and navigate and search webOS using a keyboard and mouse.
“By expanding the LG MyView Smart Monitor lineup with our new 34-inch curved UltraWide model, we are providing consumers with a comprehensive productivity and entertainment solution,” said YS Lee, vice president and head of the IT business unit of LG Business Solutions Company. “We will continue to introduce versatile smart monitors that combine innovative designs with premium performance and practical features.”
LG MyView Smart Monitor is launching globally starting in the U.S and Korea in August, with availability in other markets to follow soon after.
      # # #
1 LG MyView Smart Monitor is available in two versions: one offering tilt- and height-adjustability (model 34SR65QC) and one providing tilt-adjustability (model 34SR60QC). All other technical specifications, features and capabilities are common to both versions.
2 Wide Quad High Definition resolution.
3 Channel and program availability on LG Channels may differ by region.
4 To use AirPlay and HomeKit with this monitor, the latest version of iOS, iPadOS or macOS is recommended.
