Question

I used to cast from ace stream directly to my UJ6300 and I had no problems until a few days ago when the TV got an update for WebOS 3.7 I think. Now whenever I try to cast to the TV it just shows a black screen on the "Web App Viewer" app, I was wondering if maybe I could set a different player as default player when streaming from my phone instead of the Web App Viewer, as when I play from other sources it starts the "Photo&Video" player.

Otherwise I think I would have to downgrade the OS to the previous stable version.

Anyone else having this problem?

Finally someone else with the same issue! Im sorry to hear obviously but its Almost impossible to google being too convoluted with 'mirracast' and 'screen mirroring' :@

Fyi. Im using  LG UK6400PLF. Exact same issue. I use acestream(acemedia) on android and select my tv as the device to play the video on. Now after the initial webOS app loading-circle its just an unresponsive black screen on the tv. Its seems like the player hasn't kicked in atall because theres no buttons or 0.00 timer or anything.

Always worked brilliantly until 1/2 weeks ago,  would play the video much better than using screen mirroring (its the only way i can use the hdr setting and motion smooth ).

I have not had time to contact customer support directly yet will try tomorrow.

To OP: I managed to get an okayish stream through 'screen-mirroring'  and using vlc player as the player. Vlc will cast the image to your tv WITHOUT duplicating the image on the phone as well. Nowhere near as good but its smoothest and most stable i could get it. Video player or gallery seem to slow the phone down too much.

Please update if you resolve i will do the same. Tried all the std resets etc nothing happening.

Anyway to roll back software?

Thanks

Same exact problem with me. Everything working fine until some point and then it stopped working.

First got the mentioned black screen showing nothing but  the player buttons and the 0.00 timer. Now everytime I try to cast from Ace Stream, it fails, and I can just briefly see on the tv a menu (which quickly disappears) asking if I accept or not the connection request. I can't neither accept or deny because the menu disappears, almost like the tv is blocking the connection.

Any thoughts on how solve it?

So, it seems like the WebOS update messes up the Ace Stream casting.

If your android phone is Samsung (mine is S9+), you can use the built-in Smart View's  Screen Mirror function to connect to the tv and then play the Ace Stream content on the phone. The good thing about it is you can still use other apps on your phone and they won't show up on your tv, just the Ace Stream content.  I am not sure non-Samsung Android phones can do the same though.

Hopefully, another WebOS update will fix the problem.

Just to notate but I was unable to get my chromecast to work with ace stream either. Already tried with previous releases of the app to stream directly to the TV, it just won't work, at least on my Xiaomi mi a1.

Hopefully with a future firmware on the TV will work properly again.

LG 55E5, same problem.

The pairing works, I managed to control de volume in the phone, but the screen is black, and I don't see the time-skiping bar.

I've downgraded the AcePlayer app, with no avail. More upgraded the LG Firmware and nothing...

Is there any change we could use an external app? To play the video stream that is played in the phone app?

The new webos version was released for me this morning. I have updated to 04.10.31 from 04.10.04 but the acestream cast functionality is still broke!

Argh was convinced the newest update would resolve this being so soon :/.

Has anyone had any luck with reverting to an earlier version? I almost got there but security restrictions on my works laptop mean i can't use this conputer to "host" the update (downgrade) files.

I have owned a couple of LG TV’s over the last 8 years, with the current one being a high-end 77” model.
I am still using LG TV SmartShare (v.33) as my “Media Player” v2.3.1511.1201 for my PC– which was last updated in 2015 but it is still compatible today.  As proof, my latest TV is now 11 months old and I have had zero issue (until you see below).
link hidden, please login to view My PC setup is: Windows 10 Pro (with all latest updates) and a TP-Link Archer BE19000 (BE805) router.    NOTHING has been changed on my router, TV (no updated or changed firmware) or any equipment moved around in the last 4 months.
Up until about 3 weeks ago, everything ran just fine.  The SmartShare program was always defaulted to have Sharing ON, upon start of it, which is always when Windows boots).  However, about 3 weeks ago, the SmartShare PC program has started to randomly change its status to Sharing OFF.  I would then have to go into the program, manually change it to ON and then it works anywhere for 30 minutes up to 20 hours, and again, randomly change the Sharing to OFF.
I am an experienced PC user, and I am very sure that this has nothing to do with my WIFI because it’s not a dropped connection or random TV not being found.   Something is happening inside Windows 10 that is triggering this status change.  And it never fluctuates back to Sharing ON by itself.
Being so frustrated, I actually updated the Router to the latest firmware a few days ago, but this problem continues as before.
As an experiment, I installed an alternate Media Server program called Serviio.  One can also see that when my Sharing changes to OFF, the two green lights turn red.
Anyone have an idea of what can be happening after nearly 8 years of not experiencing this?       I am guessing that Windows is triggering some “Service” to stop running, but what can it be?

I am using LG WebOS 05.40.20 version. IPTV applications do not show subtitles. Is there any player that can play subtitles?

I have a 48" OLED (Model: OLED48A26LA).  after updating to software version 13.30.61 the Sky New Live feed just displays "There was a problem with this video [timeout]".  It worked perfectly before the TV software upgrade.
Ive reinstalled the Sky News app but still doesnt work.  wifi etc is all ok.
      Any ideas?

      Hello,
I have a problem with the subtitles when I try to share a video wirelessly directly from my PC to my LG 55SM9010PLA TV. I am not talking about sharing the whole screen (it lags a bit), just the video itself.
Sharing the video itself works well, but randomly the TV randomly does not recognise the subtitle, the sub option is not active in the TV menu, and there are no subtitles. It is in the same folder on my PC as the movie (.mkv), with the same name. In case of some movies it works, in case of others not, and I do not see the reasons why.
First I tought it is becouse the format of the subtitle needs to be ".sub", becouse it worked with one movie. So I have learnt how to convert properly ".srt" to ".sub" - but still no success.
Then I realised, in the case of another movie ".srt" worked on the TV, so I got really confused.
I see no logic behind it.  Could you help me, what is the key here, what am I missing?
      Thank you!
