You would be better off asking where Steam Link for webOS is on the Steam forum as they are the ones who produce the software.  If they can make it for multiple platform including competitors' TVs then they should be capable of porting it to webOS.

Actually, I believe this is on LG's part and not Steam/Valve.  As far as I know, the only official from Valve appp support is for Android. I believe the version for Samsung TVs was technology licensed from Valve but the app was actually written by Samsung themselves. With this said, I suspect the only was it'll end up on WebOS is if LG licenses it from Valve and writes a WebOS version themselves.

Yup, I think it's true. Does LG's officials answer on this forum? We'd like to get some info.

Right, here we go again.

First.  Nope there are no LG officials on this site, it is a user-to-user forum.

Second.  Like every other operating system out there the manufacturer of said system does not produce every single app for said platform, see Microsoft Apple etc for examples.

So why do all LG TV owners expect LG to produce every single app for the platform?

"Right, here we go again."

First. Why are you sounding so irritated about people giving a suggestion?
Second. With the rise in popularity of streamable games people hope and wish it was more accessible... hence the suggestion.

Its a shame WebOS doesn't support steam link still. I don't think I can wait any more longer for LG to add it to the store. I've decided to sell my LG TV  and get an andriod TV just so i can use the steam link app.

Because this is not the first time somebody suggested that LG should make an app because everybody want the 'hotstar app', the 'steam app', 'sony life' app, the 'hulu app' the 'hbo app', etc. etc. etc.

So George explains time and time again that:1: LG can not make the apps because only hotstar, steam, sony etc has the knowledge to make the apps and 2: this is not a LG forum, it is a lg USER forum.

And it is hot here with record breaking temperatures, so maybe not enough energy 🙂

Hi PeterV,

Thanks, I try to keep my (metaphorical) mouth shut when people repeatedly ask the same questions obviously I was having a bad day when I posted my comments.

One of my rules for good forum etiquette:

Use the search facility

If the search facility flags up something that looks related to you query read thread(s)

If once you have read the thread(s) and your query is not answered then make a post

-------

Question, has anyone made LG aware of the petition at Change.org?

Just got a new 55in C4 and a Denon DHT-S316 Soundbar. With my very old LG I like to have the TV connected to the speakers during the day and in the evenings I would switch to bluetooth headphones. I could easily turn off my headphones and switch back to the optical sound output with no issues.
However I tried this and while I connected my headphones with no issues, once I disconnected I couldn't get the sound to come back through the sound bar without having to with the TV and sound bar off which feels crazy at this point in time and the cost of the TV when my very old LG did this with now issues.

      Any suggestions much welcomed.

      Hello,
      I have a new C4 TV.
Here is the problem I am facing, as well as a suggestion for improvement.

When you have an acoustic deficiency, it is much easier to use a headset (via bluetooth).
But the only current option is to switch the sound to the internal speakers when you activate the bluetooth.
It is still a shame to penalize other people who watch TV by no longer allowing the use of a good sound installation that you have (sound bar, ...) because a person needs an acoustic aid.
Would it be possible to add this combination (optical output + bluetooth) to satisfy everyone?
I add that I tried to place an optical splitter to combine the 2, however, there is a bug apparently because as soon as you turn off the headset, there is a white rectangle which probably indicates an error that appears very briefly but every few seconds, which makes TV viewing impossible.
      Thanks for the follow-up

I haven't searched this forum, but there has to be others who find that tv remote pointer to be extremely annoying. I'm actually surprised that we still can't turn that feature off. Having the cursor/pointer feature isn't even close to the importance of being able to shut off. I mean, how hard is to put one checkbox in the ui to toggle the feature on or off? It seems like a no-brainer, big bang for the buck change that many users would appreciate

The specs for the magic remote promise "Voice Recognition with Intuitive Mouse Like Pointing and Wheel Control". I think that would be nice. The current implementation of scrolling via the wheel on the magic remote is not intuitive. Why would I move my thumb up to pull the text shown on the screen down to the bottom?
Question is, can we please get natural scrolling for WebOS 5.5.0 and newer? Some option in the settings would be fine. The current "unnatural" scrolling is a major obstacle in usability for me, and the main reason to not buy LG again.
