OLED55b7v picture quality drop down after updates

Question

Posted (edited)

I'm very disappointed with your silly moves LG. I was very amazed with my first look on lg oled55b7v series , briliant screen, collours and all over. After i bought this TV shit started to happenned,  LG started doing updates and every update make picture quality worse and worse, shame on you lg!!!! Now i'm serious pissed off because last update 5.30.15 completely messed up picture quality,  with old firmware there was no glow from the object on black background, was a lot better upscaling , better dinamics, clarity of upscaled picture and much more  picture quality , shame on you LG !!! , and i can say this is my last tv from LG , no more shit at my home, customer care does not exist, you steal only money from cheated customers this what you like!!! I'm looking for posibibility to roll back that shitty firmware to the very first one where picture was cristal clear , pixels was stable still now they dancing, jumping never in same place , i'm not stuppid i know why that shit heppend , because you try tu show the people "better" quality of new series of your TV's but there is no difference in oled panel itself so you drop down quality of older series by updating them with shitty firmware , shame on you!!!  i have also 55sj810v  i never updated firmware in this tv  tv have better quality picture on old firmware than my more expensive oled on new firmware but everyone know that those two tv's have same electronics inside, shame on you!!! So i demand possibility to rollback firmware to the old, you cheated me looks like you stolle my money droping down quality of my TV. This is case to take legal action against your company in the court, and also action on youtube and social media to show people how you robbing them with your dodgy updates and also action to show everyone how to roll back firmware and crack your webos

as I expected, no one wants to talk about it. it means only one thing, you want to keep silent about the uncomfortable topic, silence means consent, shame on you !!!

If you actually care to look at the logo at the top of the page you will hopefully note that this is a user-to-user forum...  So no official representation here from the boffins at LG.

Nope you are right, tv 1week old, was stunning. After all the "new improved updates everything is shit, color, contrast, gamma, backlight low/high, upscaling and motion. Feels like rubbish now hopefully exchange under warranty...

I’m in the same situation. When LG will fix this crap? 4000,00 € to watch washed up colors and orange instead of red? Now i’m watching tv in Pc mode but the quality is not the best possible due to the limited bandwidth via HDMI. I’m verydisappointed.

webOS updated, I think to 2023, on my C2 a couple of days ago. Since then the News option on the Sky News app no longer works, instead timing out. The Weather and Climate options still work, though.
I have deleted and reloaded the Sky News app, but the problem remains.
Does anybody have any suggestions of what I might try to get this working again, or is this something for LG, or Sky, to fix?

I remember when I first bought the TV in Nov '23, it would switch into PC mode (setting the HDMI input to PC) automatically when first connecting my RTX 4090 PC. This behaviour was fine as the TV was indeed being used for PC Gaming.
On my RTX 3050 HTPC I could disable PC mode by changing the input back to HDMI1. This would restore all picture settings options. This change would persist until the HDMI cable was physically disconnected/reconnected. Again, this behaviour was fine for my HTPC where I preferred having access to all the picture settings options vs 444 passthrough.

Now PC mode is reactivated after every Cold Boot (Shutdown > Power On) but not from Warm Boot (Restart).
It is a 'silent' PC mode as the input label does not change back to PC, however the same picture settings are greyed out like in PC mode. Switching the Input label from HDMI1 to another non-PC type disables PC mode again and restores the full picture settings.

I was using the RTX 3050 in my HTPC for a few months after I purchased the TV and did not experience this issue. After a few months I switched to the RX 7600 and continued to not experience this issue. I recently tried going back to the Intel iGPU on the HTPC and discovered this issue. I thought it might be an intel bug, so I reinstalled the RTX 3050 and found the issue again. I've gone back to the RX 7600 as it does not suffer this issue.

I have Game Optimizer options disabled (VRR, Freesync, ALLM), 444 Passthrough Disabled, QMS Disabled.
Intel and Nvidia GPU options tried:
Change output from RGB to YCBCR = no effect
Disable "Text Content Processing" on intel = no effect
Change "Content type reported" on Nvidia = no effect (Movie does activate film maker mode)

Testing performed on Win11 24H2, however also experienced the issue when testing LibreElec(Linux Distro for Kodi) on the intel iGPUs (didn't test Nvidia in LibreElec as unsupported).

Affected GPUs: UHD Graphics 730 on Intel i5-11400 and i3-12100, Nvidia RTX 3050
Unaffected GPUs: AMD RX 7600, Nvidia GT 1030

I've noticed that on the RX 7600 and GT 1030 the SPD Info Frame are blank/Unknown.
While on the UHD 730 - Product Description: PC, Vendor Name: Intel, Source Info: PC
and the RTX 3050 - Product Description: GeForce RTX 3050, Vendor Name: NVIDIA, Source Info: PC

Hello, after the last update of WebOS (6.5.0.-24) there is different behavior of returning back to previous input on my TV. When I was watching a Live TV and opened an app like Youtube, after closing it (holding the return button) it used to return to Live TV. The same with HDMI input, when I was playing on Playstation and the opened an app, after closing it it returned back to PS. Now after the update, it always go to the Home Screen when the app is closed. I only found in setting to return to last input when turning the TV on instead of Home Screen, but didn't find the same for the behavior after closing an app. Is there a way to fix it?
      Thanks

After recent software update of LG OS software update 03.51.15, there is constant problem with Date.  Date is not setting properly and getting defaulted, due to which browser and most of the apps are not working.. Have tried to reset to original settings and remove automatic date setting option then tried setting manually.. but every day its resetting to old date.

Our TV just did an update and now certain buttons on the remote aren't working, and the TV won't stay on if it even comes on at all you get a dark blue screen and that is it.. such a great update. Now what do we do? The remote batteries have been changed and it still isn't working correctly. We unplugged the TV and then replaced it in.. ugh..
