downgrade firmware

Question

Posted

Hello, I own a TV lg 55uh650v was set to Russia position and after the firmware update version 05.30.45 I can not use the app anymore because I can not accept the terms of the contract. I tried to change the DNS and connect via mobile but I did not get any results. I have tried several times to perform a factory reset but no results. Also I noticed that the version of my firmware is not on the site LG Italy I wondered if it was possible to return to a lower firmware version, could you help me?

I’m sorry to say this, but I’m glad that I’m not the only one with this problem. I have a 43UH650V, with 05.30.45 software version.

First it started with a weird error message preventing to start Netflix. So had no other option than resetting my TV. Netflix uninstall reinstall didn’t help by the way. After resetting the TV first noticed that I can’t accept the User Agreements because it doesn’t load. Tried everything what I could find possible solutions on different forums.

• Changing location and language.

• Changing DNS to Google DNS IP address.

• Using a mobile hotspot.

• Disconnecting everything from the TV, reset.

• Disconnect from power for 24 hr.

Non of the above helped.

interestingly, when the TV starts up now instead of software version I see ##.##.## for long minutes. Automatic time and date setting doesn’t work either. If I unselect Set Automatically option, it show 1:00 Friday 1 January 2016, doesn’t show the current time. I think this was the original problem with Netflix, the TV didn’t set the date and time automatically.

Tomorrow I will try to call support, weekdays is not possible for me, as their opening hours are the same as my work hours too.

I have no idea what else to do with a TV now, shame because I was a huge fan of LG TV and webOS too.

Hi Zecco77,

After calling the support line and after they told me this is a hardware issue and I can get it repaired by them for £199. Instead I went for a cheaper option and bought from Ebay.co.uk a used but tested motherboard (£20-35). Since I installed I had no issue again. Being now more careful, I don't install the latest update. My plan is that once I see there is an even newer version of software, I'm going to put back the old motherboard and run the update if it will be possible.

Hello,
my TV apparently does not have hardware problems because everything seems to work. Now I have requested technical assistance and I hope it is only a software problem.

Hey @Zecco77,

Noticed a few days back that 05.50.55 firmware is out. Maybe worth a try.
In a few weeks I will try to upgrade my "faulty" board with this and see the result.

It asks all the time to update to 05.50.55 on the working board, but I click cancel all the time as don't want to risk to kill that too.

Hello everyone, i need to help to downgrade my 43UJ651V tv. I succesfully apply all steps and at the last step seems this error message in the tv screen:

Update failed because software version is earlier than the version installed on the TV.

5.80.50 version installed on the tv now. But i want to return 04.70.55. Is this possible? Can anyone help me about this? Additionally, i am in Turkey. I want to install real official firmware. Can anyone send me the right firmware for me to install 04.70.55 ( I dont want to have language problems. I see the LgDTVUpdater package RU version)?

Hello friends, i think i found a way to downgrade 2017-2020 models tv (now its not possible by using current methods). The process is carried out through a computer using an RC232 cable. Can we overcome the obstacle to revert to old software using this method? Do you think this is possible? The link I provided is in Turkish, but you can translate it into English.

Did you or anyone find success in doing so? I would like Multi View back on TVs. Its gone in new Web OS.

What was last version with Multi View?
