Using a LG Magic Universal remote with my z906 surround system

Question

Posted

Hi,

I just Bought the LG OLED55C8 with its Universal "Magic Remote" that

should be able to control the sound settings in my accompanying(i bought it for the tv separately ofc, but was told it was compatible with all major sound system brands) LOGITECH z906 sound system.

I'm using a Optical cable from my z906 and in the  OLED55C8 TV settings you can choose about 30 of all the biggest sound manufacturers to link the remote to.

To my surprise and disappointment Logitech was not one of them. Is it possible

to choose any of all the other BIG NAMES IN SOUND, besides Logitech so i can

use just the one remote, or will i have to suffer the switching between remotes

all the f-ing time?

If it cannot be done, can you, LG, please contact Logitech to get some Firmware over to LGs WebOS system so i can use my z906 as intended?

From A rather disappointed new purchaser of the LG OLED55C8

First, there are no people working for LG here. This is a user to user forum as it says on the top of the page.

But maybe it is possible to configure the Logitech system to work with the LG Remote.

Hola,

I have a LG TV with magic remote and a set top box for the tv stations. What I did was two things:

I configured the LG TV that I had a set top box. For this you had to vind the manufacturer of the set top box (which was difficult to find). No I can use the remote to control the set top box a bit. I can change channels with the scroll wheel and some other functions. It does its best but is not great.

But I could also use the remote from the set top box to change the volume of the TV and turn on/off the TV. This solution is much better for me.

Just like configuring the LG TV for an other device, maybe it is possible for the Logitech system to add an other remote.

Hi guys,

same here. Just bought 65UM7100PLA, ordered the magic remote separately. Set-top-box works fine. Now I would like to control the Z906 with it if possible (unfortunately the original remote of the Logitech is damaged at the volume + sign, so I have to jump out of the bed to raise the volume).  Alexander, could you solve it somehow?

My magic remote and my Roku remote stopped working for turning off power so I performed a factory reset after troubleshooting to get the remote working.  I am now stuck at the 1st screen of the Factory Reset which says "Press the OK Button(wheel) on your remote."  Well... this really stinks because the remote doesn't work!!!  I have tried a USB mouse, a new magic remote, other LG Remotes with no luck.  I have also tried using the button on the bottom of the tv.  And, I contacted support which was just an exercise in redoing everything I had already tried... No Luck!!
This is a Nano Cell 55NANO81ANA which is basically just a big brick now since I cannot even use any of the inputs.  Does anyone have a trick for getting past this initial screen???
      Thanks for the help.

So I'm thinking about buying an oled65g46ls, however the included 'magic' remote would be useless to me, due to health issues (tremors).  So my question is, do any other LG remotes work with the G4?.

      Hey everyone,
I'm new here, so first of all, hello I'm delos.
I own two LG OLED55G19 TVs, one at home and one elsewhere. At home, I have a QNAP NAS (TS451) with DLNA functionality. Accessing it at home works great.
The "Home" and "External" networks are connected via VPN. Thus, both networks have different network addresses.
Now I want to access the home network from the external network with the LG via VPN in order to integrate the DLNA server. The LG doesn't "see" the external server because it's not in the same network. However, I wonder why you can't just enter the IP address of the server in the LG.
      Does anyone have a solution?

      Many greetings
      delos
