I'm having the same problem with a 7600plb.    As I'm in Ireland the TV is set up for Amazon Echo but is supposed to support Google assistant also, however the setup App is not on the TV nor is it available on the LG content store.   LG say they are aware of this and hope to issue an update at some point to fix it but can't say when.   Here's the reply I got from them: 

I am sorry to hear about the frustration that this has caused you. I have had a look in to this for you and we are aware of this not working in Ireland at the moment but we are working towards this being resolved as quickly as possible. As you have come through to the After Sales Technical Support Team we do not have the information on when this will be released but we are working to have this out as soon as possible.

In this case I would recommend making sure that the Auto Update is turned on. To do this please can you go in to Settings> All Settings> General> About this TV
