Kickback to channel guide on LG Tv using YouTube TV app

Question

Posted

While watching a live or library program on the YouTube TV app with my LG Smart TV, the screen momentarily turns black and then the live channel guide or library home page appears. Have to reselect the program to continue watching. Happens randomly but 3 to 4 times per evening.

Yes, send to be a growing problem but oddly enough the topic keeps disappearing from this forum . I have been in contact with YouTube TV help support since sometime in November I think it was providing additional info, system logs,  etc at their request. I message every week or so and lately now I only get back a form reply about quote "we are working on it and will let you know when we have more information"

I strongly suggest you and anyone that may read this message before it disappears and has  the problem contact LG and YouTube TV support and voice your concerns

LG Oled42c44LA; cable TV to CI+ module
Program guide works OK until ca. 17.30-18.00 . Then the guide only shows current programs. Inspecting later times is not possible. Only thing that helps is to unplug the TV  and  plug it in again. But the next day the problem is there again around the same time. Is this a problem of the LG TV? Is there a solution for this?

I've just purchased an OLED48 C44 LA which comes with a US 60T soundbar. I've connected the soundbar to the HDMI earc socket. Because my hearing isn't too good I'd like to also have some heaphones plugged into the 3.5mm socket so that both the hdmi earc and 3.5mm socket have sound simultaneously. I've been into accessablity menu and the listen together option doesn't appear to offer both hdmiearc and 3.5 mm simultaneously. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
just to be clear, There is a setting which permits TV speakers plus wired external headphones. I just haven't found a setting which allows HDMI earc soundbar plus wired headphones.

I just purchased the LG UHD 43UP76 advertised as real 4k however the YouTube App is running at 1080p.  Which means 4k content is downsampled to 1080p then reupsampled to fit the 4k pixel grid and the image quality is awful.
i assume WebOS runs at 1080p and simply upscales to 4k on low end 4k TVs, this same with high end TVs??

For the past few years I have been using a 2nd generation Apple TV to watch YouTube videos on my LG Smart TV, however as of today Apple have disabled their YouTube app for this particular device.
I presumed I would be able to use a YouTube app on my TV to continue watching videos in this way, after all has anyone ever heard of a Smart TV without a YouTube app? Since most new TVs are smart TVs these days most people I know have one and they all have the capability to play YouTube videos, usually you don't even have to download the app as it is one of the ones that comes pre-installed.
However I cannot find a YouTube app in the LG content store. I've not really tried to install new apps on my TV since getting it so I don't know if I'm looking in the right place, or it is one of those things like with smartphones where there are multiple places you can go and download apps from.
Bizarrely though, despite there being no YouTube app, there is a YouTube kids app, so it's not like LG have never heard of YouTube or anything, they just don't seem to have realised that people other than kids watch videos on it.
