Question

My new LG TV (65UM6900PUA) running WebOS 04.71.25 works great with HomeKit, with the exception that it is not reachable while it is turned off. If I try to turn it on in the home app, it says "No Response."  I have changed the 'Turn on via Wi-Fi' setting to on, and it will turn on from the 'LG TV Plus' app, but not from the iOS home app. Is there a specific setting or something I need to change?

@yippie_kiyay Did you follow this guide? The other thing is that some home automation only works well if it is on the SAME WiFi (2.4GHz or 5GHz band) as the TV is on. I see a note to that effect on the article.

Only way I can resolve no response errors when TV (OLED55E8PTA) is in standby mode is move IOS device running HomeKit app within Bluetooth range,  TV is connected to network via Ethernet cable. Quick Start+ is enabled.  I have a 4K Apple TV within 3 feet of the TV and a HomePod also within Bluetooth range. Once TV is on I can change inputs and turn it off via HomeKit app outside of Bluetooth range.

I am rather network savvy. I have software running on my LAN that shows what IP addresses and MAC addresses (devices) that are connected. I can see that when I power off my LG 49UN7300PUB LG TV it disconnects from the network. It doesn’t matter whether the connection is via ethernet or WiFI (2.4G or 5G). Well if the TV is not connected to the network Apple Homekit will show the device as “no response” and you won’t be able to turn on the TV via an app either.  I have tried several settings including Quick Start on/off and Mobile Device Management on/off. I have tried a variety of power settings. Everything to no avail. If an LG technician could advise on how to keep the network connection active, it would resolve this issue. So, any guidance here?

I have this exact problem and given the time lapse between your post and mine - has anything been done? Did you find a solution?

Through multiple updates, this issue still exists. I’ve never heard from LG. My work around is not elegant but it does work. I have Apple TV connected to this TV. I can say “Hey Siri, turn on the TV” and sure enough it will turn on.

Frustratingly Nothing - I have resorted to using the LG ThinQ app - that seems to control it completely….on/off anytime ….

The Best thing to do when Homekit is not working with the LG TV ,

  • Update your LG TV and the Apple Home app to its latest version .
  • Also, Unpair your TV and connect it again .
  • These two always helps me tackle out unresponsive accesories on the Homekit .

Got it from here
