May someone help on how to use DStv app in LG smart TV please. It's annoying 😡

I have the same problem. Can use App  on my PC but App on TV request a code to be inserted. Where do I do that? Also frustrated by everything being a mission to access on LG.

Yes but when I enter the code  ( on the TV screen) the sign in button does not work. 

Surely I dont need a PC at all ?  There I had to only fill in Email and password and Chrome saved it for each time I opened DSTV  Now.

 I want to watch the same on my bigger screen TV via the app. But cant get past entering the code. 

 Appreciate any help I can get esp since I am in isolation on my own.

Thank you Siyabonga, but why have an app on the TV if it is useless? Have used phone but it is tiny for poor eyesight.  Also battery goes flat qickly. We MUST  put pressure on LG to improve their product. This is a new TV and have had so many issues with the low grade firmware.

but other apps are appearing  and how would you help my dstv now was not preinstalled and also how do i set a wallpaper

As far as I can ascertain, the DSTV Now app only works on iOS and Android. I cant get it to work on LG WebOS. I managed to download the app from LG Content Store. But it orders me to go to the DSTV website and put in a code that the TV gives me. When I go to the website and put in the code, it gives me the "sorry" message. Have given up.

Myb ur TV WebOS doesn't support it.

Currently, there is no webOS 5, you are most likely referring to the software not OS/firmware version.

Here's another thing that I think it's the reason u don't see the Dstv Now app. Check the Location settings if it's SouthAfrica

yes it is South Africa

Please Reset to Initial Settings or Factory settings. When done please Set Location as these;

 

Broadcast Country: Southern Africa 

LG Services Country: South Africa

 

NB:

Don't forget to let me know of your TV model and WebOS Version.

Hi what must I do to download the DSTV app on my LG smart TV ? It doesn’t find it in the App Store at all ,please any help will be appreciated.

@Winston If the LG store does not show the DSTV app, then either your TV model does not support it, or you are not using your TV in a supported country. See this from the DSTV FAQ:

"The DStv app is available in all African countries which offer DStv via satellite. Remember, the content you can watch in the app is dependent on your package and the country where you have your subscription."

My lg smart tv does not want to update the dstv now app and therefore i cannot watch it. It updates all the other app though. Any help? Johan

I cannot access dstv on my lg smart tb since a month ago. All the other apps update, but not dstv app. I tried everything. Any help??
