**NEW** DAZN question

Question

Posted

I have an LG TV (about 5 years old) and was able to find and download Amazon Prime app, so i know how to do that.  (Don't get me started on LG's account setup - ugh).

However, I cannot find DAZN as an app in Canadian store?

As an alternative, i launch the browser, (internet) and go to the DAZN website and try to watch from there but get an error message.

Any suggestions. as it is driving me crazy.

thanks in advance

@lecouvie The browsers on many older "smart" TV's do NOT get updated to cover newer Internet standards and protocols. They are tied into the TV OS (in this case WebOS), that will not have been updated either. You can ONLY install apps that are present in your LG STORE in your country/region. If DAZN is not there, then you cannot install it.

For new account setups, I ALWAYS use the PC/Laptop browser (Firefox is very good, it has an excellent password manager built in), then once the new account is ready, sign in on the TV.

@Alex Thanks for the link. Indeed it does state "All LG WebOS models from 2015 to 2019", BUT, as the OP @lecouvie states, it is "about 5 years old". So, as the OP is unsure, what if it is 6 years old?

The fact that DAZN was launched in Canada in 2017, and the USA in 2018, does not mean that ALL TV sets purchased in 2015 would have it available in the LG STORE, particularly if they were an old stock or end-of-line 2014 models (and the older WebOS version is not updateable for example, and cannot support it).

If the OP really wants to use DAZN, and it is NOT in the LG store, then the alternative might be to consider one of the other options mentioned here:

"DAZN is available on a variety of platforms, including Roku, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, iOS, Android, Xbox, Playstation, as well as Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari browsers via DAZN.com."

      Hi,
I have an LG 43UH750V ZA TV which I have connected to a BT YouView box which in turn is connected to a broadband router. I normally do most of my viewing of TV through the Free View service provided via the BT You View box. On the LG TV there is a facility for web browsing. However, this does not appear to work through the internet connection via the BT You View box and the router.
Does anyone know if this is a valid configuration that should work or does the TV need its own direct internet connection to a router? Thanks.

After viewing photos/videos on a flashdrive plugged into the USB of an LG TV and using SmartShare to view... and then removing the USB and then no longer having access to the TV... I noticed on the flashdrive a new folder called "LG TV" and within what appears to be files that may have been the thumbnails displayed on the TV. My question is... do those thumbnails also remain on the TV as "recently viewed" history even without the USB plugged in? The LG Smart TV online user guide refers to "Recent" ("To view a list of recently viewed or added content, select Recent). Would thumbnails be there without the source flashdrive?

      Hello all,
I recently got a soundbar for my LG TV and have it connected with HDMI ARC on HDMI 2 I do my TV watching with a Firestick. I have this weird issue where if I switch apps on my Firestick using one of the buttons that go to an app, or (sometimes) using voice commands, the switches to the HDMI 2 input.  If I choose the app from the menu, it works fine.
I have no clue why how I start an app makes a difference, but is there a way to set the TV to ignore HDMI when it comes to automatically switching inputs?  I looked through the settings and thought I figured it out when I turned off instant game response on HDMI 2, but the switch is still happening.

Hello. I am from Bangladesh. I have an LG  television (LG UP7550 43'' UHD 4K TV). I want to play movies with Bengali Subtitle. My TV isn't showing the Bengali subtitle file (srt or ass) though I have renamed it as the same name as the name of the movie and kept it in the same folder. How can I get rid of the problem? Do I need to use any special player for this purpose? Or is it completely impossible to watch movies with Bengali Sub?
