Fix PlutoTV CNN - Nice Feature but Mostly Broken

@Jeff Stevens Your LG TV model is not mentioned. It is often very useful to post this, as functions, APP availabilty, and WebOS/Firmware levels vary a lot.  Plus APP availabilty varies greatly from 2016 to 2017, and 2019/2020 TV's. As the internal hardware (CPU type/capability/cores, memory amount) varies, so does the ability to handle complex APP needs.

With the above in mind, I suspect that what you are seeing is the APP crashing at the Advert transitions. It is very common in older sets (like my 2014 LG), to see this either at the start or end of an advert, a hang or rotating wait graphic (circling dots). I see it a lot on the Catch-up APPS, or TENPLAY, or the SBS apps, ABC iView and a few others in our Australian TV region.

I understand that Pluto TV relies heavily on Ads' for revenue, so I am not surprised, but it must be frustrating to get frequent issues. Is always when watching CNN? If you get a pattern to the issue, try contacting Pluto TV support.

I saw this on the Cord Cutters website:

"Pluto TV announced today a global distribution deal with LG Electronics, bringing the free streaming service to LG TV Smart TVs. Pluto TV is now available on 2020 LG Smart TV models, with rollouts on 2016-2019 models set to begin in Fall 2020."  Of course, this does NOT mean that it will be available on all models in all countries, as with many things that start in LG USA... 😊

      Hi to all.
I recently purchased a lg tv with web os. On the old TV was using an external media player (wd live tv). Now I wanted to directly connect the USB disk to the TV.
Unfortunately, I can not do it, because, to my regret, the web os does not have a file manager So I can not copy, move, or do anything on the external drive, no do not connect it to the PC first.
I ask is you are putting a file manager, so you can manage files between USB devices connected.
In addition to, if possible, add an icon to each file (movie) already seen.

Youtube only lets you type numbers, and not letters. Amazon doesn't let you type anything unless you use the really really really slow onscreen keyboard. It's ruining the tv experience. Can't search for topics or shows without the slow drugery of the slow remote and onscreen keyboard.

Is something ms configured or is WebOs really this awful?

I can’t use my remote with the new update. 17. Something I think?
OK my 55” is a few years old but it was working fine until an automatic update on an unsupported TV! I mean, why update unsupported tv’s with untested software?
Planned obsolescence - making us upgrade? Well, it’s the last LG telly I will buy for sure

Hey everyone, I've been using my LG WebOS TV for some time now, and there's a small but impactful change I'd love to see. Currently, when the TV is turned on without an HDMI input, it defaults to displaying a wallpaper. It's not aesthetically pleasing, it's a bit of an inconvenience for users like me who primarily use the TV's smart features. My suggestion is to include an option that allows the TV to boot directly into the Home screen, displaying all the available apps and streaming options right away. This would streamline the user experience, making it faster and easier to access the services we use most.Would love to hear the community's thoughts on this. Cheers!
