If the TV (sound settings, output mode) will let you leave the internal speakers on with the optical output active then you connect a bluetooth transmitter to the optical input and pair your headphone with it.
If the TV won't let you do that then you will need to split the optical output, connect both a soundbar and the BT transmitter to that.
You will need to set the optical output to PCM stereo in either case.

However, to avoid using a splitter, there is an Avantree unit I have seen (UK and Australian Amazon) that has a pass-through mode (put the unit first in  line, then use a second optical cable to the Soundbar, then pair your Blutooth Headphones to the BT transmitter):

Get a "spdif to analog" adapter - Bluetooth headphones are suggested.

About $6 US from ebay or similar (it is easy to pay for more than you need). You will also need:

spdif cable [coaxial (orange color phono connector)or optical/Toslink]

usually a 5 vdc power source - using either (center pin positive) :

low cost is a USB to barrel (round) cable to a nearby USB output or

otherwise a small 5vdc power adapter

most adapters have a red & white phono jack outputs, so you may need an RCA to headphone adapter depending on your headphones. (I would choose to transmit via Bluetooth to wireless headphones. but would require a spdif to Bluetooth adapter instead.)

Note: Some LGsmartTVs have Bluetooth built in;  check yours.

LGtv (optical/Toslink or coaxial)   TO  dig/ana adapter  TO  headphones

Just got a new 55in C4 and a Denon DHT-S316 Soundbar. With my very old LG I like to have the TV connected to the speakers during the day and in the evenings I would switch to bluetooth headphones. I could easily turn off my headphones and switch back to the optical sound output with no issues.
However I tried this and while I connected my headphones with no issues, once I disconnected I couldn't get the sound to come back through the sound bar without having to with the TV and sound bar off which feels crazy at this point in time and the cost of the TV when my very old LG did this with now issues.

      Any suggestions much welcomed.

I have an LG 32LJ610V TV.
I would like to connect wireless headphones to it.
I bought a Ugreen CM523 bluetooth adapter and a JBL Waveflex wireless headphones.
The adapter and the headset are connected to each other.
But on the tv i can't set it to play through the earphones.

      Hi,
I intend to buy LG TV 43UK6300Y.
So question: if this TV require the Bluetooth headphones which must support LG sound sync (wireless) function.
If yes, could you send the list of acceptable Bluetooth headphones.
      Thank you,
      Evgeny

      Hi,
I have a OLED77C34LA and a pair Bose QC32 II headphones and I have trouble connecting to the tv.
First the headphones works good on my other three devices but the TV has trouble, when I manage to connect they work perfect but when I turn the off on on again the headphones will say they are connected to the TV but the TV most of the time won't give me an option to connect and I remember I got a popup asking if I wanted the use the headphones as output but only for like 3-4 times so far.
Usually I have to plug the power out of the TV for a while and remove the bluetooth device but and it doesn't always work. It's not great spending like 15min to get the headphones to work.
Any ideas what could be wrong?

Previously, my TV (LG32LM6300PLA) worked so that when I turned Power on in my headphones, I got the message Pairing followed by Connected. At the same time I got a button on the screen named Connected (so far I remember)  and when I clicked OK on it with my remote control I got rthe sound in my headphones and it disappeard in the TV-set. When I shut off the power in my headphones the sound disappears in them and is back in the TV-set.
Remaining at Settings the soundshift works, i.e. when I turn on the power on the headphones I get sound in them and when I turn the power off it disappears in them and I have it back in the TV instead. But when I leave Settings for watching TV this setting  disappears.
What am I doing wrong ?
      /hans peter
