Anybody using the enhanced "LG channels" that came with WebOS 6.x?

Question

Posted

The Channel Plus/LG channels on the earlier firmware was pretty poor (in my opinion).

I've updated the firmware on my 2017 uj6500 TV but I have not activated this functionality, leaving

the user agreements off  (Out of the 7 that are there, I've only activated "terms of service" and "privacy")

and the TV, for me, works fine this way, with apps in the LG context store functioning normally

I have an Oled CX series. My webOS Ver is: 5.2.1-290906 (jhericurl-jardine).

The TV has software ver: 03.21.18. I downloaded the software from the LG site, and copied to a USB stick.  Next I tried in eirher port, but the only options are what I usually see, (1) Photo/Video or (2) Music. It's not like what the LG web page shows for using a USB drive.

But, since it appears I have the latest software

How did you get WebOS 6.x, and what series TV do you have?

I've only had mine a little while so I'm not all that familiar with everything yet...

Thanks!

The TV itself (assuming it's connected to the internet) will check the firmware when you turn it on.

I got a notification last week (which was a surprise since it's been more than a year since the last update)

I checked in the settings/general/About TV, I have WebOS 3.9.x,

but TV software version 6.0.x

You WebOS/software is up to date as far as I can see

webOS updated, I think to 2023, on my C2 a couple of days ago. Since then the News option on the Sky News app no longer works, instead timing out. The Weather and Climate options still work, though.
I have deleted and reloaded the Sky News app, but the problem remains.
Does anybody have any suggestions of what I might try to get this working again, or is this something for LG, or Sky, to fix?

As the title say, it is unfortunate that we cannot have access in those two apps and as far as I know many ppl waiting for them to be added… Hope to see them soon in webos app list. Thank you in advance.

I've just purchased an OLED48 C44 LA which comes with a US 60T soundbar. I've connected the soundbar to the HDMI earc socket. Because my hearing isn't too good I'd like to also have some heaphones plugged into the 3.5mm socket so that both the hdmi earc and 3.5mm socket have sound simultaneously. I've been into accessablity menu and the listen together option doesn't appear to offer both hdmiearc and 3.5 mm simultaneously. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
just to be clear, There is a setting which permits TV speakers plus wired external headphones. I just haven't found a setting which allows HDMI earc soundbar plus wired headphones.
