Hi, I got a LG 55UH6500 and Magic Remote AN-MR600 and they are working perfectly for years. After I upgraded to the latest firmware 05.50.95, the TV refused to pair the Magic Remote and said only specific model and be paired. Can I go back to the firmware version 05.30.xx to solve the problem? I cant find the firmware from official LG website.

Hi! Again I do think after reflexion that you should firstly factory reset your Tv (if something has gone wrong in the update doing this might fixe it), use a Tv remote app on your smartphone pairs to your tv, one from lg or the "sure app" or whatever you find to access to "all settings" -> general setting" scroll down to "factory reset" if you had set a password then input it when asked if don't. Hit  "yes" to confirm the "factory reset" when asked. And lets the tv do his job then restart and set your tv like your first time, reset your magic remote, remove the old battery and let the remote without battery for 20 min, then still without battery press and hold the power button for 5 min, put new battery in the magic remote, hold home button and back button together for about 5 seconds while aiming to the tv, then the power button should flash meaning is pairing or try to do so, then hit the ok button that's pushing down on the center of the scroll wheel, while your close to tv, then if this worked the tv should say something like that " pairing is successful " then you are good to go, if not working, maybe your tv is not set for the rigth country, check general setting, go to location, then lg services country, uncheck "set automatically" and chose the right country if it is not setup then hit yes to confirm, if asked to agree to user agreement, do so and restart. And try pairing again.  Hope it work the first time! I'll wait for your return, bye

Hi!

Thanks for your advise. I tried to reset the TV, reset the magic remote by take out the batteries for 30 mins and put them back and long press the "EXIT" button. I also tried to select the country manually, however, the TV still said "only specific model of remote can be paired". I've no idea and call the customer service support and she told me that my TV does not support this magic remote and suggest me to buy a New magic remote. I had been using this magic remote for over 3 years! Isn't it the earlier firmware releases got "Bug" and so allow to pair this unauthorized magic remote incorrectly?

Im so disappointed to LG's service and desire dont buy any LG products anyway...

BTW, thanks for your kind help!

Hi! You should not be disappointed from LG, but could you please tell me where did you get that remote for your 55UH6500 ? After looking around i found that this Magic remote was not meant for This Tv line up. The one you need is The Magic Remote AN-MR650 you can find it on Amazon or maybe some retailers, you have to check the availability for your country. Here some link for you to check

N°1) your Tv Compatible Magic Remote:

link hidden, please login to view

N°2) This one seems to be Universel has it is for all LG TV with Web OS 3.5

N°3) The Magic Remote you got who is normally not compatible with your Tv:

could you please provide me with your complete exact LG TV models and the country it was meant for ?

This it what I found:

and the only Software update available is on that link scroll down to Software update:

and I do not suggest you to get back to previous software update, only To use that remote, get a new one and sell yours to someone who need it for his compatible Tv.

Give a feedback on what you did. And have a great time, bye

I bought the TV and Magic remote together from the av shop. However, it was closed last year. As a customer, I didn't think to check the remote model especially it worked normally in the salesman's demo.

Thanks anyway!

Hello! What is the exact TV model ? Check at the back of the TV and tell me please ?
And how did you get the update you've installed on that TV ?
Answers correctly to those simple question.
Thanks

      Hello,
I have a problem with my new LG OLED G2 newest version 4 firmware.
I tried sorting my satellite channels with chansort programm from github, because sorting them with the tv remote is a pain.
When I try to sort them with the remote and have selected about 10 or more channels all the selected channels get suddenly getting deselected, so I can only select up to 10 at a time  to
sort them -> must be some kind of firmwarebug?
After exporting the channellist to a usb stick then editing it with chansort an importing it back into the tv all my channels are gone, all transponderns are deleted.
First I thought it was a charsort problem but all channels and transponders get also deleted when I simply export them to a usb drive an import them back, without editing the file at all.
Does someone know how to fix this problem?
And yes I´ve done multiple factory resets -> did not fix any of this behaviour.
I also discoverd another bug the deletes all channels, because I needed to reboot the tv I searched for a reboot option in the tvs menu, but there is no reboot option.
To do a full reboot (except from forcing it through cutting the tvs power) you can deselect the privicy agreements, after that the tv reboots, but then all channels are gone too.

The webOS community may be a bit smaller these days but it’s no less devoted to the platform. WebOS Ports is a small team of developers. As you can imagine, it is a few people to maintain a full OS that consists of thousands of components. Things are starting to come together for LuneOS, with the current major rebase and stable release. But we still need your help.
As nice as it is to have some additional folk contributing, developing, and working on issues, we still need more developers to get involved to make this community project really take off.
      “Our focus is core functionality”
We cannot stress enough that we are building an OS focused on core app integration that is simple, beautiful, and user-centric. Right now, function comes first. If we had a penny for every developer that knew some web code and could make a beautiful static mock-up of an app that didn’t do a thing in the backend and then said “I did my part, it’s up to you to make it work”…well, we’d have a lot of pennies.
      Developer requirements
Once core app integration happens we will need HTML/CSS smart people. But to be an asset to the team, you need to have a good grasp on any or all of these technologies:
Javascript C node.js C++ QML Qt Yocto Graphics design Are you decent at some of these, but might need help from time to time? That’s fine!  We’re a community, remember?  Hit up the
link hidden, please login to view and/or channel and ask! Get the bugs out!
We have several applications already available but many are placeholders or have basic functionality. Some of the apps are almost fully functional like Settings. But even Settings has bugs and can use refinement.  OK there are bugs everywhere! (If only it were as easy as a can of Raid to fix them)!  We’ve received lots of questions about how to get plugged into the project quickly.  Easy! Head over to our  to see current issues. Find an area where you think you can help and then find us on or (see below) to talk about it.
Some examples of areas that need bug fixing are:
Email: Some minor bug fixes Settings: Add Settings when needed Phone: Further polishing Calendar: Google C+Dav integration needs updating to adopt for Google’s changes Browser: Rework UI to be more webOS/LuneOS like And more. Core Apps/Features/Backend magic
The Open webOS project released several core applications that were Enyo1 based.  These apps are in LuneOS
Messaging: Needs a rework or rewrite to give proper functionality similar to legacy webOS PDF needs converting to QML. LuneOS also needs a media player app (maybe reuse/rework the webOS OSE app for this?). The C+Dav connector is there, but it needs updating for various changes by Google. It also needs testing for other providers. Additional IM connectors would be good to implement (Telegram, Signal) etc, there are existing plugins exist for Pidgin/libpurple that can be used. Looks aren’t everything
As you can see, to really make stuff work first, most of what we need is in the backend.  It’s the old battle between form and function. Which comes first?  Designers will argue form!  But Ports is focused on the core functionality that has to work first and look pretty later. It’s a hard pill to swallow and we get that, but when building an OS, it’s the most important thing. If it looks pretty but doesn’t work, the project loses potential users. If it works but doesn’t look pretty it will at least show promise and that encourages positive feedback. And with a community led project, if you don’t have good feedback you’ve already lost.
      Additional help wanted
Ports is looking to expand our public relations presence. If you are located outside of the United States or more specifically speak a different language than English and would like to help us advertise and direct interested people toward LuneOS and WebOS Ports, please let us know.
We are also looking for a WordPress “expert” for a new site we’ll be setting up soon. Are you good at making tutorials?
We have several “How to install LuneOS guides” on the wiki. If you’d like to make friendly guides, that’d be great!
And finally, we need a “wiki-meister”. Someone that really knows the ins and outs of running a mediawiki!
