I have same issue, did lots of tests and found that this is some kind of screen saver in new browser, not only subtitles, but if you watch a video not in full screen, browser hides all html elements except the video after 2 minutes. I could not find any fix yet, and there is nowhere to disable screen saver for browser to fix this, I hope LG fixes this soon because I can not watch any movies anymore without subtitles.

I found something that helps, reset TV to factory settings, before that write down your region and backup programs to usb, then after restoring, set region and restore programs, new browser is gone, but every time you run browser it  asks for update and you have to press launch. I found it in a thread and also users suggested to watch movies for free in watchsomuch.tv which was a great site and is fully compatible with WebOS browser. If pay you can watch outstanding 4K qualities on LG OLED

I have lg oled cx and after updating I am still having the same issue. Even worse unlike the browser update which could be easily downgraded web os update which can't be downgraded made this issue even worse. I m practically firced to use inferior new version of web os.

Videos from certain websites are unable to play on browser after latest update to webOS 5.50.55. In the first image there should be a play icon on the video player

Hello , There is no setting to select subtitles for series and movies, I tried clicking on the colors on the remote, but nothing worked, I poked around in settings and found nothing. I sent several emails to the company, but no response was received. I remember that there was an option in the previous version, who has the same problem and what can be done?

Hi everyone, I have a recent problem with my lg smart tv web browser. TV's model is 50UH635V and I've noticed that the browser can't open certain websites showing the message "the browser is no longer supported". Is there any solution to this? Can I install a 3rd party browser to my TV, like mozilla, chrome, something like that?

My LG 49UB850V LED TV  browser is too old. The most of the pages not work any more. How to easy update just one simple browser app? For example, often browser show error during open new page. It show certificate expire problem and page not load at all.
This mean LG sell product without update at least browser certificate and now we are stuck and can not even load one page from WWW.

Shame on you LG. I will not buy any more from you.  How dificolt is to release new update to update OS certificates? Microsoft Windows did this, android did also for old phones, etc... Really, can not undestend this asian people from Korea.

It seems that the latest version of the WebOS browser on LG Smart TV's lacks the support for Javascript modules (ES6).
Can this be implemented / activated?
